It was kind of funny because he knows I love GD and that I watch Shameless, so he was kind of excited to bring his observation to my attention. He didn't, however, know that I adore Billie. Now he knows. No offense to Jeremy Allen White - I really like his character and he's kinda cute in his own way, but I completely lost my shit! My poor friend... He then had to endure a text rant about how incredibly wrong he is and how Billie looks nothing like that actor. His one innocent comment unleashed a barrage of crazed fangirling and now my friend is quite certain I'm insane! The things we do for Billie... Of course I had to investigate this claim, so I closely compared the two to see what my friend sees that I don't see. Maybe the chin? The eyes? I just don't see it! I don't know how much riskier coming out was at that time but it never is an easy thing to do I guess and imo he's a good role model. I like how self-accepting he is. And I agree about your last point as well. And I do think it has a positive influence as well. A friend of mine used to slur guys who weren't manly enough for his taste. His fave word at that time was faggot. And he loved Green Day so once when he did that I sent him pics like this. He was like: "but Billie's not a faggot!!!!????
