So i go sell a bunch of games at Game Stop, and they give me like 20 bucks (cause theyre lame like that with buying shit) and I have to try and sell some of the rest of the stuff they didnt take to people on the road, just so I could save up enough to go buy it. So after like 2 hours, I get about 35 bucks, which I thought was perfect, cuz its 27.99, plus whatever taxes there are gonna be. And I get there and find out... they are'nt selling it.... Not true. While yes, it's been proven that black is purest and therefore the "best" quality, colored vinyl is still perfectly listenable. What it mostly comes down to is the quality of the mastering before the record is pressed - if it's done right, you can still have a colored record that sounds great (and if it's done poorly, even black vinyl will sound like crap. ) Anyways, I've been going back and forth on picking this up but I'm probably going to pass for now solely because I already have the 2009 repress on black and I need to save for Record Store Day on Saturday. Coloured vinyl can sound just as great as any black vinyl pressing, black vinyl being "purer" than any colour is BS, and anyone who claims this to be so is full of said BS. Virgin vinyl is actually a semi-transparent brown, and it doesn't get any purer than virgin vinyl. It all depends on the QC they have in place regarding the actual vinyl pellets that are being used. Well when they started doing color vinyls they did sound bad cause they were using different quality but now esp in the last 5 or so years there's really no difference... As in the artwork being on a record sleeve over a CD booklet. Plus this would give me a chance to really compare AI on vinyl and CD side by side.
