The band change up their setlist, and cut back 50% of the "Hey-Ohs", allowing for more rocking.

Also gives each studio album time to breath on stage while giving the casual fan a non-stop barrage of hit singles.  26 hits,  6 deep cuts and/or covers and you've got one mind blowing set list here folks.

30 is a good even number for a show.  Gives them room to do 2 or more songs from every album with no problem.  While some would say that's not enough, let's face it.....nothing is ENOUGH for us goofballs on GDA.

But OCD me would like to see a show with 2 songs from each album.  Maybe even one single, one deep cut.  HMMMMMMMMM

It would be songs mostly from Dookie, Insomniac, and Nimrod, it would just be Billie, Mike, and Tre and they'd be in Eb for everything, even the songs originally recorded in standard, Billie using Blue exclusively and Mike using a Fender Precision Bass Plus like the one he used on the Dookie album.

Here's a tracklist i did based on the Jaded In Chicago concert:

Going to Pasalacqua

Welcome To Paradise

Hitchin A Ride

Burnout

Geek Stink Breath

Longview

Brain Stew

Jaded

I Don't Want To Fall In Love

Basket Case

Dominated Love Slave

Platypus (I Hate You)

I'm drunk and broken-hearted tonight.  It's a perfect time to come up with the most idealist set-list there ever was!  This show would be so freaking awesome, I don't think in all the 70 pages of set lists there has ever  been one with so much energy.

Things start to get sweaty when the band rips into Jesus of Suburbia after eleven songs that are mostly all from later-era Green Day.  Then....oh my gosh....then!

You've GOT to see this show!

1.       BANG BANG

2.       Holiday

3.       21 Century Breakdown

4.       Viva La Gloria

I imagined a backyard bbq show.  I wonder how much money it would take for Green Day to do a show like that....I probably couldn't afford one song in reality, but perhaps a wealthier fan could afford a 14 song set.    Possibly all acoustic....one like this....

1.       X-Kid

2.       Taxi Driver

3.       Christians Inferno

4.       1000 Hours

5.       Peacemaker

The Longshot is a transition.  30 Years of Green Day down, now it's time to rip it all apart and start again.

I hope that will carry over to the stage.  The biggest argument for Green Day not changing their set list is that they have to play hits for the average person - and I get that.

But they have 39 charting singles and    In concert we (on average) get the same 19 singles over and over and over.   The staples are a must - "Longview", "She", "When I Come Around" etc.

"The Saints are Coming" / Working Class Hero / Simpsons Theme / Last of the American Girls  / "Walking Contradiction"  /  "When It's TIme / "Redundant" / "Let Yourself Go" / "X-Kid"  /  Stray Heart / JAR / WARNING / Stuck with Me / Oh Love / Macys Day Parade / Kill the DJ / The Forgotten /

And then there were album cuts that charted and did well as well:     "Somewhere Now"   /  Say Goodbye (NEVER PLAYED!)  / Bouncing off the Wall (NEVER PLAYED)  / Outlaws (NEVER PLAYED!!!)

If you include promotional and non-charting singles, the tally is 61 singles.   61 singles!   Granted I'm kind of obsessed with their "Saints are Coming", but if they would just include songs like that, I wouldn't even mind their not being any "deep, deep cuts"    The non-charting stuff and promotional singles are good enough to be crowd pleasers and at the same time satisfy us weirdo-s who want something different.

And of course any Trilogy singles would be a treat.
