unextraordinarygirl
How many songs do they typically play during a set? Like during a full concert. Does anyone know? I like watching the sets they played during 2005 AI years but yet I also wish they would play more older stuff from 39 Smooth and Kerplunk. I don't think I could choose because they have so many good songs that I like. I do love when they do the medleys of cover songs though so they should keep doing that. It's awesome!

Part of the reason they are so awesome live is the length they play. Generally between 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The amout of songs in the setlist would depend on the length of the songs. So it can vary from show to show

I look through their set lists on setlist.fm all the time. 30 songs is the average, but you never know. 43 songs is their max I believe. I just came across a shorter set which only had 16 songs. Most shows they stay between 21-33 songs. And I agree, it's nearly impossible to choose what songs the guys should play. They definitely need to show more love to non-American Idiot and Dookie songs. I know those albums are super important and they shouldn't ever ignore that, but they have nine other albums that need love too. Also, I want The Saints are Coming to be the new closer for every show....

That Dude
Without bono, right?? Bono could join in. Heck, U2 could all join. The live version of The Saints are Coming is one of my all time favorite things in the world. Bono's freestyle about living like birds in the magnolia trees.....chilling. Play a whole set, then play The Saints are Coming 5 times in a row. They could change the lyrics up by using the original, then their own version, then with bono-freestyles, then without. The version that they did with U2 really annoys me. Hurricane Katrina was very emotional for alot of people. I felt that Bono kind of stole the limelight from Billie and it should have been equal. It should have been U2 and Billie leading the song but once Bono came out he took over. Billie should have sang the "I am an American" line. Once Bono came out it became the Bono show and not a song to raise awaremess and emotionally and financially help the victims. Or maybe I just can't stand Bono.
