Guest
I liked it, anything that shows even the slightest amount of support for our boy, I am fully okay with Yes, he is our 'boy' even though he is double my age. Shut up.

Baby Eyes
So... what are you going to do to help him stay sober? Well, we're offering a strong fan base for him. In Billie's Rolling Stone interview he said he he feels like he gives a better performance when hes drunk/high. This is to show him that we care and want him to stop. iScottie
As decent of an idea as this is, it unfortunately will not work. The only thing that MAY work to promote his sobriety is to refuse to drink or smoke during shows. However, our world is filled with too many idiots who want to see people at their breaking points. There are a lot of great people who are rooting for Billie, but unfortunately the bad typically outweighs the good.

No, but he said he feels BETTER in front of the fans when hes DRUNK. We need to let him know that he should feel confortable with us sober. As decent of an idea as this is, it unfortunately will not work. There are a lot of great people who are rooting for Billie, but unfortunately the bad typically outweighs the good. Many may not see it as a big deal, but when you have an addictive personality, anything is possible. I think anything is possible and no one is limited. How dare you discourage fans supporting him and his decisions.
Slave To The Network
I don't think Billie has Facebook. Even if he did, I'm sure he wouldn't see this. Seems kind of pointless to me. There are a lot of other ways to show him love and support without specifically mentioning his continuing recovery and bringing everything back up. Dirty Rotten Bastard
I'm sure he doesn't need a facebook group to tell him how much love and support he has. He knows we're all behind him 100%. It's best to support him, and let him move on on his own. As nice of an idea as it is, it's not necessary. It's in the past, he knows how much we care about him. American_edot
i think he does have Facebook as someone said in the gdcrets thread that they know someone who found there Facebook pages it was about someone who stalks them

I didn't say I don't want to support him! Of course I do! I just don't think this is an effective way of going about that. And whether or not you are intentionally mentioning Billie's need for continuing sobriety, it is still a reminder of his problem and what he went through. He also mentioned that he doesn't want explicit sympathy or support for this. He already gets plenty from his family and friends.
LazyPhil
Does he really want that much attention on his drinking problem?
Elena
i think he does have Facebook as someone said in the gdcrets thread that they know someone who found there Facebook pages it was about someone who stalks them as far as i remember that secret was about their family members and not the band members themselves ...the only band member who has a facebook account is Tre and i've heard about rumors that Mike has one as well, but just to check what his kids do there, but Billie doesn't have one...also Billie said in the past that he doesn't google himself, so it's really pretty unlikely that he'll see it via facebook ...a possible way to get the message out to him would be Twitter or Instagram, though for Twitter it's more likely that he'll see it someday when you post anything to Adie as Billie doesn't really use his Twitter account very often anymore... i'm pretty sure, though, that he knows that a lot of his fans are supporting him as there was already an article in a magazine with fans writing him stuff and a lot of people wrote to Adie's Twitter right after he had to go to rehab... not that i don't care, i really do and i really wanna support him, but i don't think a facebook page could help much.. That's actually a pretty deep thing to say. Of course everybody supports him and wants him to have the best recovery possible. Liking this facebook page doesn't give you immediate access into the 'supporters of Billie Joe Armstrong land'. If you don't like the page, it doesn't mean that you don't support him. I'm sure Billie knows how much we all care about him and want the best for him. A constant reminder of part of his life probably isn't the best way to go about your support for him, regardless of how good your intentions may be. Elena
Does he really want that much attention on his drinking problem? as he already said anything along the lines like "We just talked about my problems the last time, but really, i'm so much better than this" in that Roling Stones interview, i guess not
frunsi
liking something on facebook has always helped. i mean, think of all the people that have been saved from poverty, starvation and death because someone liked a facebook post about it! I think this is a good idea, I don't mean that people HAVE to do it because everyone can do what ever the fuck they want, but it may be a nice thing to do. I really wish that fans could just move on... he's back now, he's performing, and I guess he's doing a good job on being sober so far. Be happy that he's back, no need to remind him
