Is it wrong I'm kind of more interested in this than Cuatro? And I love Cuatro, I think it's top-notch, but Billie on Broadway is more mysterious to me than the making of an album, no matter how awesome lifestyle-y it was filmed.

i agree, i'm way more excited about this documentary, even though i think Cuatro will be amazing too ^^

From the Broadway Idiot facebook...

From mapping out the first structure back in 2010 to the final edit, it's

been an amazing adventure with unexpected twists and developments along

the way. Just when we thought we were done, Billie Joe sends us a

surprising new archive clip we just have to get into our film. So we're

firing up the project for one last tweak…

Oooh, I wonder what this "surprising new archive" is! Interesting. I can wait to see this!

Can't wait for more news! Saw Billie Joe on broadway many times. Defiantly something to see offstage footage and interviews.

I know!! I have all sorts of possibilities in my head  Archive suggests "old" which in this case could refer to American Idiot the album, but I'm hoping it goes back way further. Like a tape of him hanging out with the real whatsername or some early version of When It's Time or something like that.

Independent films still get DVD releases :P Hell, they occasionally get theatrical releases too. They're just more limited, usually. If they're hiting up the film festival circuit, chances are they're probably planning on putting it out somehow :)

This is pure selfishness speaking but... I kind of hate it when things get a lot of publicity (whether they ask for it or not) and then aren't released to the public. Like, a few months ago we heard that this existed and that the cast got to see it and there was a private screening at a university in Indiana, and although I was really hopeful, that kind of low-key murmuring of the film made me feel like "OK, this isn't going to be released to the public and I just have to accept that." But once you start showing it at festivals and releasing trailers that get picked up by Perez Hilton (I know, that's not Green Day nor the filmmakers' doing), that's when I start to feel entitled and needy and demand a DVD release :P

Oh, I know what you mean! It is unfair, but if it's something made to be that way, then... :( As Green Day fans, we deserve to see this too :):P

Absolutely! If anyone deserves to see this, it's us! They just have to release DVD of this! It's mandatory! I NEED TO SEE IT! It sounds beyond amazing!

Although we’d finished the edit, when we received this clip we had to cut it into the film – Billie Joe, age 11, singing …. what was he singing?
Well let’s just say there was perhaps a bit of Broadway in Billie Joe all along.

I wonder if we'll ever see all of his pre-Green Day performance some time... On youtube or DVD or whatever...

Companies dont usually put in all this work and effort into something just to show it to one room full of people... I'm sure it will be released in some shape or form because if theres money to b made theyd be idiotic not too. It looks pretty well invested too, not just some mash of clips for the sake of nostalgia for the cast and crew. And besides theyre already advertising!
