Carpe Diem, Angel Blue, and Sweet 16 are rubbish. Definitely amongst the worst from the trilogy. Barely B-Side quality.

I disagree. Sweet 16 is a great song. The melody is just fantastic and the meaning behind it is very special. :)

I really love Fuck Time. Easily top 5 from the Trilogy. Oh Love is good too, but I'd say top 12.. I probably like about half the songs from the Trilogy, so I've just made a playlist of all the ones I do like & I just treat that as the album more so than the three separates.

It's incredibly overproduced, and the lyrics are almost painful. Not a fan.

Yes, a 40 year old man singing about his sweet 16. Not creepy or cheesy at all...

The whole Uno album is overproduced unfortunately.

Sweet 16 is a b-side...And not even a good one.

More and more I think No One Knows is genuinely one of Green Day's best songs ever, at least vocally and lyrically.

And the bass!

I honestly can't remember what most of Uno & Tre sound like, I may have to re-listen to them to form an opinion other than 'blaaahhhhhh'

I don't understand the obsession people have with Christie Road, especially when it comes to wanting the band to play it live. I love that song, it's great, but it's not the best song on Kerplunk. In the words of Mike: "If you shout out Christie Road one more time I'm gonna fucking hit you with my bass."

Um, you do realize Sweet 16 is a song he wrote for his 16th wedding anniversary. It's most definitely *not* a song written about a 16-year-old girl.

From the Guitar World interview:

On a more cheerful note, “Sweet 16” is an unabashed love song to Armstrong’s wife, Adrienne, written as a gift to her for the couple’s 16th anniversary. They met during an early Green Day van tour while she was studying sociology at the University of Minnesota. At the time Armstrong was 18 and she was 20. It was pretty much love at first sight, although it took them both a little while to realize it fully.

“‘Sweet 16’ is about being in a relationship for a really long time,” Armstrong says. “The first verse is about my relationship with Adrienne when we first met. And the second verse is more about our relationship now. And just how time passes and just kinda, ‘Wow, we’re still here and still together.’”

Perhaps that at least alleviates the creep factor. And although some of the lyrics have a cheese factor, I think most of the verses are detailed and honest enough to make this not just another silly love song. Just take the time to listen to the lyrics and he's describing things like living in a warehouse and her moving to California. To me it's a poppier redux of Westbound Sign.

Cheesy lyrics, unoriginal riff, and overly heavy production. Unlistenable.

I can only agree with the overly heavy production.

Angel Blue and Sweet 16 are two of my favorites on Uno along with Nuclear Family - I'm not really a fan of Carpe Diem though.

Also, I'm not sure how unpopular this will be but whist I really enjoy Troublemaker I find the chorus is a bit bland - by this I mean the way he just says "I wanna be a troublemaker" four times with the instruments doing the same thing every time. I wish they'd added another lyrics or something to this part!
