There is a distinction between Mike and Billie's voice. Only certain songs like American Eulogy, i definitely know it's Mike in the Modern World part. But I think you might be right. with the lead singers having the harmonies.

Yeah, of course it's all Mike during his parts; Modern World, Nobody Likes You, "I don't wanna be an imbecile...", and so on and so on. And knowing how his voice sounds from that futher convinces me that he does not do the harmonies on the records. I've really been digging into this for a while now, trying to listen to the tracks in different ways, and trying to bring out or isolate the harmonies, and I'm convinced it's all Billie Joe, from At The Library to The Forgotten 99 Revolutions (there is no harmonies in The Forgotten, haha).

When I half-unplug my headphones from my iPod, it gives me an incomplete version of the song with some overdubs/echoes and harmonies. I can attest to the fact that on some songs, the harmonies are ONLY, and DISTINCTLY Billie. Not Mike.

I was really impressed watching the first Brutal Love video and thinking incredible job Mike on the harmonies, but then at Moody Theater he wasn't even at his microphone, and I realized all those beautiful background "Oooohs" were coming from Matika/White/Freese? (Def Matika). They were a little too polished to have been Mike live.

i've never bothered to find out anything about the musical like its entire existence is just void

Same. I have this weird pseudo-phobia about watching videos on the Internet that aren't official videos, mostly when it comes to music, I live in an area and economic status where going to see a Broadway musical just isn't in the cards, and I never truly understood the storyline of American Idiot, so the musical hasn't seemed entirely appealing to me. But I'm sure if I saw it I'd change my mind.

who doesn't?!

A whole lot of people, apparently. So many people hate Christian's Inferno for some reason and call it one of Green Day's worst songs, and I have no idea why. :ermm: I love everything about it.

Opinion #1 I don't really like 1039 in full. There's good songs but as a whole it's sorta meh. I prefer stuff from the trilogy.

Opinion #2 The trilogy is awesome. So many good songs and a few bad ones. Don't get the hate.

My opinion is Kerplunk is easily green days best album and the only dud is WIMHA and I also think 1039 is a absolutely terrible album, and that hold on, walk away, and static age are the best green day songs ever

Unpopular speculation: Tre's face is looking different lately... kinda botoxy.

I think it looked a whole lot worse in 2009 right when 21CB was coming out. Botox city. I think it's looking a lot better now, but there was definitely some work done at some point.

I do this to learn the harmonies on GD's songs. It's clearly Mike on most everything on the EPs, Kerplunk, and everything else up until the 21stCB and the Trilogy (although Mike doesn't do the backing vocals on every song on the Trilogy and his voice is compressed to death, same deal on 21stCB). Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, and American Idiot are distinctly Mike.

Some of the trilogy ones are pretty obvious.

Angel Blue, Carpe Diem, and Stay The Night are prime examples of Billie Joe doing his own harmonies. But listen to Fell For You or Loss of Control using the faulty aux cable; that's Mike Dirnt's high note. For some reason they've been compressing his harmonies to the point where he completely loses his tone.

I considered Christian's Inferno is a good song, but it "sounds" more like an unreleased track by The Network.

Tre does vocals somewhere on Uno...my best guess is the group vocals on Rusty James.

Yes! I've been noticing this for a while now but just thought it was makeup effects. I do think he's gotten some work done though. His skin is almost plastic looking sometimes. Could possibly be because of lighting etc,.. Oh well, that's why it's a speculation.

Well Tré's skin has always been red and shiny when he sweats, maybe that's the reason. I don't think Tré is the kind of person who would actually get plastic surgery :ermm:

I've never thought of it like that, but you're actually right.

Unlike many people on here, I think the intro to extraordinary girl is very creative and a pleasure to listen to.

For a long time, I couldn't listen to Geek Stink Breath because of that weird noise someone makes at the beginning. I like GSB so much that I just deal with it now, but it seriously sounds like a monster burp or something.
