bass-line Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I actually think the trilogy albums are my top three favorite green day albums. I like nightlife, kye, and horshors and handgrenades. Dookie has some filler on it. Only half the album is good. But the good half is amazing.

No, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown were very clear concept albums with characters and a loose thread of a story that was meant to send a super-punk political statement. They made a point of stepping away from "concept", and that made them lose their way IMO

They made a point of stepping away from "concept", and that made them lose their way IMO 21st Century Breakdown is the only album that wasn't a product of random jams, it was clear cut and calculated as an attempt to top American Idiot in the same vein. American Idiot was, by all intents an purposes, and accident like their other albums.
