Guest
techno Dos may have Nightlife (which I don't like, it's not Green Day, it's rap...) but I like the grungy stuff, Makeout Party, F*** Time, even See You Tonight, which is like the old Green Day when they'd have 1 minute songs on an album, like Dookie that has about 3 or 4, 1 minute songs! I hope they stay away from the techno in the future! oh, and Insomniac is the best album, I like it because they didn't know who they were, they were young, dumb, out of control, Teenagers and young adults should be able to connect with it. give props to the old stuff, 1039 and Kerplunk have grown on me! slowly but surely lol Green Day have only released 5 or 6 songs less than two minutes in length, depending on whether you count Song Of The Century. And See You Tonight is too short. Completely pointless filler.
HolyHandGrenade
You know the start of Panic Song is literally one note? And I love it all the same
localinsomniac
My view is, AI is too 'mainstream' in the fact that there are Green Day 'fans' who only listen to it and 21st. it makes me sick when they've never heard of Insomniac or Nimrod, they're just bandwagon people! out of the trilogy, Dos is the best for me, Uno is all techno, although there are a few goodies in it, and Tre is to Blah Blah, with a few gems in it as well, Dos may have Nightlife (which I don't like, it's not Green Day, it's rap...) but I like the grungy stuff, Makeout Party, F*** Time, even See You Tonight, which is like the old Green Day when they'd have 1 minute songs on an album, like Dookie that has about 3 or 4, 1 minute songs! As to the bold part above- to my ears, Uno is as close as they've come to revisiting the Lookout days since...ah, well the Lookout days. Not sonically, mind you. But the spirit -- the wild guitar solos, the one-take live recordings -- is the same.
ThibautDookie
They don't play underrated songs during their shows. I would like to hear some underrated songs like Having A Blast, Sassafras Roots, Emenius Sleepus, Bab's Uvula's Who ?, Panic Song, Stuart and the Avenue, No Pride ... ThibautDookie
You mean songs they don't play ever? Yes. During their live shows, they don't play them. They always play the new songs from the new albums, the big hits, some favorites from the crowd. Do they ask the audience what song they want to hear ? jacknovella
Yes. During their live shows, they don't play them. They always play the new songs from the new albums, the big hits, some favorites from the crowd. Do they ask the audience what song they want to hear ? Sometimes they take requests. Especially if someone has a sign with a specific song etc. I don't think they do it as much as they used to but it's not unheard of

They do take requests, but it's pretty unlikely they even remember how to play those songs. They haven't played Having A Blast in almost 20 years, same goes for the rest of those. localinsomniac
I find Brittany's Instagram posts to be more irritating than the people who comment on them. Does that count as an unpopular Green Day opinion? Yes, I unfollowed her.

localinsomniac
I'm ending it. No more talk about GD's sexual slaves, please. It's not related to the bands music or performances (lol). No problem for me. But that's why I included this part as a pseudo-disclaimer: Does that count as an unpopular Green Day opinion?
Harinezumi
I don't know if this counts as an "unpopular" opinion, but.. As a former pill-popper, I don't understand why the fans made such a fuss about Billie's addiction and rehab. I also think that analysing every song from that perspective is pointless. Having said that, I hope he's doing well!

BullwinkleCheech
I honestly don't see why everybody worships Brutal Love. It's just an old Sam Cooke song with different lyrics. C'mon guys
Ryan
I honestly don't see why everybody worships Brutal Love. It's just an old Sam Cooke song with different lyrics. C'mon guys The vocal melody is the same, but mostly everything else is very unique. To me, Brutal Love is just another example of Billie really stepping up the maturity of his writing. The musical depth of that song is amazing. There are so many cool layers and musical nuances that are just awesome.

WhiteTim
It is, but the old version sucks. Hahaha you're kidding right? The vocal melody is the same, but mostly everything else is very unique. To me, Brutal Love is just another example of Billie really stepping up the maturity of his writing. The musical depth of that song is amazing. There are so many cool layers and musical nuances that are just awesome. The music is the same as well hence why Sam is credited to the song if it only vocal melody they wouldnt have had to credit Sam as you cant copywrite vocal melodies But Brutal Love is top 5 song of the trilogy love it cant wait to hear it live
