Yes but what I meant is that they had like a important part

What do you mean by "important part"?

Nowadays songs don't need to be great to be popular

no i'm just saying popular songs are popular because a majority of people like that song and it's okay if you don't but it apparently definitely has a certain something that makes it great.

I didn't say they weren't great  I'm just sayin' that a song does not need to be good to be popular to anymore and vice versa

Billie's voice now is extremely feminine...both when he sings and when he talks. I'm fine with it, but it's odd.

Yes, you're right, he sounds strange, but his speaking voice seemed always quite high (for a man)...anyway, voices usually become lower when you get older.

That's what years of eyeliner make with guys...

You don't say?! Seriously, who goes from deep voice (not really deep, but y'know) to really feminine? It should go the other way, I guess...

Yeah it should.... :D

I love Billie's voice!

I don't really like King For a Day at all. But most people seem to love it...

I think it has to do with how his temperament's changed as he's got older. When he was younger he was a lot more sullen and moody when speaking in interviews and on stage, rather than generally upbeat like he is now, so his voice was naturally lower. And same with the singing, as well as just having worked on his voice and expanded his range now he used to go for more of a surly punk style which would also naturally be lower. That's my theory on it.

But the random screaming parts are really awesome! :P And the high notes on 21 Guns were not off they were just an octave lower so Billie wouldn't strain his vocal cords because he can't take any break he has a show to play whereas in the studio he has plenty of time :D

I never said the random screaming wasn't great :P It makes sense that he'd sing 21 Guns lower so he wouldn't strain his voice. I never thought about that! In that case, he sang 21 Guns perfectly fine.

This is the first actually logical explanation I've heard about Billie Joe's voice "change."

And I think there's a lot more introspection and analysis of what he's writing about reflected in his voice, which may affect it. (I hope that makes sense, I know what I mean but I'm struggling to explain it properly.)

Yes I agree. I think "It's fuck time" is a pretty good example.

I think the live version of Stay the Night are much better than the studio version turned out to be, it's just to slow and it needs the drums for the intro. I KNOW that is not unpopular, but anyway. I think pretty much the same thing about 21stCB, the demo was great with the piano intro, much better than the intro on the song that actually made the album.

insomniac is one of the best gd albums. its pretty underrated. it has awesome songs like panic song, no pride, etc.

It does and I agree! You can definitely hear more of the emotion/mood/meaning of the songs in his singing now (hard for me to explain it too haha), whereas before he delivered them more simply with less nuance to his voice. A good development I think.

I actually don't mind the Oh Love Video. I'm not saying it's good, but it could have been done a helluva lot better.

I don't like Dos very much. It didn't strike me as that good.

The song Rest bores me to tears.

Kill the DJ is my jam.

Dos is probably my least favorite Green Day album. It's just not that catchy in my opinion. A few songs are alright but....eh. It's not deep to me, at all. To me it sounds like an entire album of filler songs except for one or two.

I don't find "y'know" or "one fucking minute" jokes funny, never understood why either of them have become such a big thing.

And the term "OMJOS" makes me cringe so much.
