So I'm not the only one who makes music videos while listening to songs! :ninja::P Thanks buddy!

haha sure thing buddy :P most of te time I really listen to the music, I'm trying to understand the meaning and I imagine different things or think of stuff it reminds me of, and sometimes when I'm outside, just for fun, I like to look at people and imagine they are the video  sometimes it's really funny

And tbh, sometimes I play the roles of different characters :ninja:

Actually, all the time!

Plus if you skipped it you'd miss out on the fun of singing "raw ham". I don't mind if they keep playing it live for the same reason, my sister and I crack up singing that in the crowd

I always thought it was "wha-hey" or something like that. Raw ham is great though.

The more you know. :D

I still remember the discussion about what it was, but I didn't know we settled on raw ham.

All my videos (!) look the same, it's basically me walking through the crowd no matter what the song is! Occasional special effect: wind.

I dislike Billie Joe's newer approach to vocals on the trilogy, I dislike how they toned down the distortion on the guitars, and I hate the hype that 1039 gets. It's good, but better mixing/clearer recordings > those trashy-ass drums.

Green Day's best work was during Insomniac and Nimrod. Warning and American Idiot showed a steady decline, but weren't bad. Down the toilet after.

Hate to break it to you, sport, but unless you're talking about his actual style of singing, the production of the vocals is more the fault of the producer than the singer.

See, I love DRB because of how "broken" it sounds. It sounds like a 6 minute jam session and I for one fucking love it

yup, probably why I love it too! Plus it's really good to sing along to!

 I'm going to stick with this one!

raw ham raw ham!

Totally agreeing in those Mike things also. Green Day seems to have been wasting Mike's talent since 21st Century Breakdown, other than his solo parts in American Eulogy and Sex, Drugs & Violence.

You mean vocally? It's not like he sang many songs before that... Only Homecoming right? Apart from backing vocals.

Walking Contradiction's music video is one of the best music videos they've ever done in my opinion. And the song itself is the best on Insomniac :D

YES! I agree =)

I didn't have very high expectations for the trilogy so I wasn't that disappointed. They were good albums but Ive been listening to them less and less. I think some fans hyped them up too much and were expecting a masterpiece

wasting Mike's talent? In American Idiot he only sang in Homecoming. back in the 90's he sang backing vocals, like he does now too.

I never liked Geeked Stink Breathe or Welcome to Paradise...and I always thought "Green Day" was horrible band name but I still love them.

I love it when Mike sings it's bit in the songs (like with Homecoming and American Eulogy, that's absolutely wonderful) while Mike singing an entire song doesn't do the same for me, but to use his vocals alone for 10 seconds felt really out of place in SD&V, and the line he sang was quite stupid too

I also love his backing vocals :D

Better than Sweet Children. I always thought that sounded kind of pervy.

I love the name Green Day, but I have an irrational hatred for anyone who writes Greenday. I don't get it, no one ever writes ledzeppelin or riseagainst or Linkinpark, just put the goddamn space in!

The Dog and I had this conversation earlier. Green Day is a stupid name when you think really about it. But, like I said earlier, a lot of bands have stupid, stuuuupid names.

Especially punk/punk pop bands. The Sex Pistols? Buzzcocks? Or -whatsit - the menzingers? Pretty stupid I'd say.

Ha those bands have great names. I don't feel silly saying those names. I feel silly saying something like "Green Day" or "Blink-182" or "Megadeth". But yeah, Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, The Menzingers are good names.

Even Billie has said it's a stupid name

Yup, he said they have one of the "stupidest names in rock" and that the first thing he would change about them if he could is their name. But then again he said he wouldn't, because they've had an amazing career playing good music as "Green Day".

I don't like how Mike dumbed down his playing since the 2000s. Listen to what he plays on Dookie, Kerplunk and especially Insomniac. It's fucking amazing! It's probably the most complex and melodic bass I've heard in any pop punk band, most bass players just play a simplified version of what the guitar plays, but Mike plays his own melody in those albums. But his bass lines still perfectly harmonize with Billie's guitar.

I understand that he had to dumb down his bass for American Idiot and 21stCB because those were rock operas. But I hoped he would go nuts again for the trilogy... We did get some badass bass lines (Dirty Rotten Bastards, Makeout Party, Missing You) but those were solos and not the kind of bass playing I wanted from Mike (melodic bass lines that harmonize with the guitar). But it's still better than what we got from AI and 21stCB I guess.

I just really hope Mike really dumbs down his playing for the "sake of the music", not because he lost his skills or something. o_O I don't even think that could happen. But he was so talented in his 20s, you would expect he would be even more amazing in his 40s.
