Unpopular Green Day Opinions

I want understand this. I really do.

Billie needs to get fat again. Just to show he doesn't give a shit about his appearance.

And I'm starting to realise that no one seems to give a shit about Tre. Not that I really care.

I want Billie (the rest of the members too) to cut their hair short and start wearing baggy pants and shirts again. I'm getting tired of the black hair dye and makeup.

Unpopular opinions? Uhh...

1. Dookie is over-rated. Not saying it's a bad album, but it doesn't deserve anywhere near all the drooling and worshiping it gets.

2. 21st Century Breakdown beats any other of the band's work hands down. Even songs like Know Your Enemy work great in the context of the album (I heard Billie describe it as a simple rock song to 'rally the forces'). 21st Century Breakdown (the song) is an amazing piece of music, as is Restless Heart Syndrome. I just love the way Green Day do The Who. The only songs which annoy me about that album are Christian's Inferno, Last Night on Earth and American Eulogy (I don't get all the praise for this song - the repetitive choruses get really grating).

Woah, woah, slow down. Yes it would be cool if Billie got fat :) I'd be one happy fangirl. But nobody gives a shit about tre?! That is madness! He is my favorite member of the gang.

A reason as to why you think this?

Dude, they're all 40+ now, between the break of these three albums and a new album is gonna be at least 5 years (my prediction anyways). They'll all be nearing 50, they won't be able to take the strain of touring anymore too.

I just can't imagine them be nearing 50 and creating the kind of music they produce now, that's all.

Bruce Springsteen releases on average an incredible album every 2 years and tours pretty much every single year.

The guy is 63.

Insomniac is their best album overall.

21st Century Breakdown is better than American Idiot IMO.

The Trilogy was awesome.

Their best album lyrically is Warning by far.

For the next album, Billie NEEDS to use Blue to record guitar.

I don't know why some people complain about Kill the Dj, is a fantastic song fast, and really good if you want to dance with a song made by guitars drums and bass

LOL I don't know what to post here exactly.

I dont think Billie's looks are all that. I used to think he was the most beautiful man in the world!! But know I think he way to twinky. The man in my icon is way more handsome IMO. Sorry.

I love uno and tre! should have scrapped dos all together imo it was terrible. I would have been better if they would just released one record with the best songs but i get that this is a experience, also i hate insomniac aside from a few songs

Jason Frieze needs to be their next official member. I stand by my statement that Dos needed sax.

YES! I agree! Every GD song could use Jason Freese in it. Jason Freese in my opinion is "more necessary" than Jason White, album wise at least... Not to sound mean or anything, I don't have anything against Jason White, I just think it will always feel weird thinking about him as an official member, specially in the photo-shoots

i stand corrected

I dunno how I feel about old green day, though. I don't want them to turn into the journey/aerosmith/rolling stones of today who are just old and wrinkly touring around nd shit.

i'd be feeling very uncomfortable imo

-Brain Stew is an incredible song just because it is so simple, yet so kick ass.

-Christie Road is one of Green Day's best songs.

-American Idiot and WMUWSE are the weakest songs on American Idiot.

-Christian's Inferno isn't great.

-Waiting is an incredible song.

-The video for X-Kid is completely pointless

I actually don't like Green Day's more experimental stuff like most of what's on Nimrod. I do love several songs on that album, but overall I don't like it that much. It deviates too much from their usual sound and in my opinion kind of breaks up their album flow more so than Warning because that's a little bit closer to their original sound. I don't know, it's kind of difficult to explain exactly why I don't like it that much. All I can say is what I've already said here.

Rock n' Roll from the 60's/Rockabilly -> good Rock dance songs; Kill the DJ --> bad "Rock" dance song... But that's just my opinion, I'm glad you like Kill the DJ, 'cause I would like to like it.

I think 21st CB is a better album than AI and I am not ashamed to admit that 21CB is my favorite GD album.

That's probably my most unpopular Green Day opinion :D

That, and I actually think Oh Love is a great song. It's not first single worthy, but it is a great song according to me.

You can't compare music from the '60's you have to change the style because people chan ge

1,039 is definitely their worst album, MAINLY because of the sound. The songs are fine, nothing wrong with the songs themselves, but they'd definitely be a millions times better with Dookie-style or Trilogy-style production, or even Kerplunk-style production.

Nightlife is not by any means a terrible song. It doesn't seem out of place on ¡Dos! at all, it works well as Green Day's first quote-unquote "hip-hop" song, and it has a decent hook.

Dookie is far too overrated. Granted, it's still a great album, but it's very dry and doesn't have enough punch. I still like Dookie a whole lot, but I actually prefer stuff from Insomniac on.

It would've been much better if the songs from Shenanigans were completely rerecorded so it would count as an actual album. It doesn't deserve to just be shoved into the "compilation" category.

Oh yeah, I really don't like Wake Me Up When September Ends. It's like it was written with little other purpose than to be popular with the mainstream. One of the band's weakest ballads.
