WhiteTim
If we're talking live albums, there are some earlier than BIAB with Jason on guitar I was only talking bout the studio album cause dude was implying Jason was on AI and "the guitars by Billie before that were alot better"

Cob
I agree with you, but if anything a lot of people do at least acknowledge Mike's awesome bass playing. I'd say Billie's underrated as a rhythm guitarist. Soloing really isn't his thing (he's competent, as is Jason, that's about it) but, boy, can he strum. American Idiot, Hitchin' a Ride, Brain Stew, even Know Your Enemy? Yes, they're only a few chords at most, but they sound bloody gorgeous. Billie is actually a really talented lead guitar player. His solo work throughout the years has been great. You have shredders like Dry Ice, Makeout Party, and Dirty Rotten Bastards, tasteful melodic stuff like Waiting, American Idiot, and Amanda, and then really soulful solos like Wild One or X-Kid. A lot of you guys seem to be ignoring the fact that the boys are extremely talented musicians period, not just within their own genre.
WhiteTim
I wonder which trilogy songs Jason played lead on? In GW they say Jason played lead on a few songs
Clockwise
Yeah, it's not the solos I mean. It's the stuff like the tremolo guitar on East Jesus Nowhere, and the harmonics on Nuclear Family that are more Jason's work. Billie simply isn't good enough technically for it. I really don't think you're giving enough credit to Billie, he wrote/recorded every guitar part himself up until the trilogy.
WhiteTim
Billie is talented but would he make it on a top 10 top 20 list no but he is great for what he wants to do I say long as the music good who cares
SamMacs
I wonder which trilogy songs Jason played lead on? In GW they say Jason played lead on a few songs I guess that they play the same parts live as in studio so some songs where Jason played lead would be Brutal Love, 8th Ave Serenade, SWTRLF, Stay The Night & 99 Revolutions. DannyDirnt
Never understood why everyone loved Longview's bassline so much. I don't find it that good, I prefer many others.

Even people at Ultimate-Guitar thinks it's an awesome (someone even said unique!) bassline and those were haters! But if that's your opinion, okay... musso_kn
Here's one: Insomniac, while absolutely excellent, is extremely overrated amongst fans and non fans alike. I suppose people consider it Green Day's most 'punk' album, but as far as I am concerned that isn't a particularly objective way to judge the quality of a record. musso_kn
Sorry, but Panic Song and Stuart and the Ave disable my objectivity temporarily Panic Song is bloody awesome and Stuart and the Ave, it's just it infuriates me when people say things along the lines of "Insomniac is my favourite Green Day album because it's so pissed off, and real and PUNK". Some guy actually said something like that in a biography I watched and I just wanted to thump him.

musso_kn
Not so much about the music: I don't like Billie's latest instagram photo. You know, the black and white one, where he's wearing a black hoodie. Yeah, his eyes look really weird and kinda scary but everyone seems to have changed their avatar to that particular pic and I don't understand why. Guest
To be honest, I changed mine to that pic simply because it was so strange looking, plus, we hardly ever get updates from him like that so it's just like OHMYGOD A NEW PHOTO OF BILLIE MUST USE. As you can see, I changed away from it pretty swiftly..
