I read in Aaron Cometbus that Adrienne's mom (who's a pastor or some religious thing) was pretty pissed because Billie said some shit about god.

Well like I said I havent seen all of Billies interviews and such so there could or is more concrete evidence i was just saying the few stuff ive seen where he spoke on religion stuff was nothing concrete to say what he believes or dont believe but again i havent heard alot of interviews only some

To be honest, I don't really care if he is religious or not.

Last Ride in is great. It sounds like the perfect song to play while lying somewhere deserted and getting stoned or tattooing some friend of yours. Or it could just be the perfect soundtrack of a lazy summer/early fall afternoon.

I read it too, but sincerely I couldn't care less whether he's religious or not. I remember hearing in some interview he was agnostic, but to me we might descover he's the antichrist's vessel himself and I still wouldn't care. Perhaps Green Day's lyrics may become more anticlerical, but then again they already have East Jesus Nowhere.

Billie's got a religious background (see the Look for Love Interview) which he obviously resents for various reasons to do with the hypocrisy of organized religion. On Colbert he was like "I love Jesus" (before the "I hate sandals" incident  ) which doesn't mean he's a Christian per se, but his "fetish" for Christianity I think has more to do with his vague respect for the concept and less to do with actually believing in the dogma.

I don't think he's really a theistic guy, but I don't think he's as diabolically opposed to theology as people tend to think he is. I don't think the constant Christian imagery that surrounds him (besides the sticker on his guitar, I've seen pictures of him near other candles, wearing rosaries, a Jesus thing in his house) is completely without significance. I don't think he's a religious nut, and I know he might just "like the symbolism" or "appreciate the art" but I do think it's a little bit more.

This is probably an unpopular opinion:

I have a sneaking suspicion that Billie Joe believes in God or is decidedly NOT an atheist.

Billie's said himself he's agnostic. He clearly dislikes organized religion (and people being brainwashed into religion and hatred in the name of religion) and has no problem criticizing it or making fun of it, but that doesn't mean he doesn't believe a God might exist or have some personal 'spiritual beliefs'. I get the same vibe from Mike, I don't think an atheist would write a line like "You know that, I know that, you're watching me" from JAR for example. I get the impression Tre is an atheist though, he's always totally derisive of anything to do with God/religion and he's definitely said things along the lines of "God doesn't exist". And he was in a band that had songs with titles like 'Fuck Religion' since he was 11 haha, Billie and Mike were brought up with religion while Tre doesn't appear to have been so much (or at least he was exposed to anti religion stuff from an early age) so maybe that made the difference.

Mike said he's an agnostic.

Billie's acting is horrendous. For me, the This is 40 clips were amusing for all the wrong reasons.

Less an unpopular opinion more an undeniable fact :P. I love his bad acting though :D

It was also Tre who answered "Why are there no clouds in the sky?" with "Because God wants to watch his favorite band again!" For what it's worth..

The "she's old enough to bleed now" line in Drama Queen makes me uncomfortable.

I hate the "Amy pleaseeee don't gooo" part of Amy. I don't think it works well with the rest of it at all, and i think it's ruining the song.

Me too. He can refer to many uncomfortable things...Suicide, self harm...y'know... :S

Did you just call Taylor Swift a slut? Because that's kinda not cool dude.

Well, that's the stereotype with her. I guessed you were referring tot hat

I sort of feel this way too. Didn't he say in the Rolling Stones interview that he found faith or something and was praying quite often?

Regardless, I feel as if he believes in at least something.

TAYLOR IS FUCKING PERFECT OK, DON'T MESS.

Also how can you shame sluts? Sluts are awesome. They are people who revel in and enjoy experiencing what it is to be human.

OT, however, Amy is still a dreadful song.

i don't like a lot of the songs from the trilogy, and believe that they probably could have just made one excellent album by picking at the songs they used for the trilogy, then releasing the rest later.

Dude, that's probably one of the most popular opinions on this site.

You're right, though.

Okay well I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think it woulda been way better if it had been more focused, then with the rest released as B-sides or something

To be fair I fully believe that in Billie's now near 20-year acting career ( :P ) he has progressed from offensively bad to simply really bad :D I think he was passable in Nurse Jackie and could probably pull off the AI movie because he is very good at the musical theater type of acting.

I agree with him being tolerable during that single Nurse Jackie episode. Though, if I remember correctly, he didn't really do much: he just had to give the impression of being all cool and dark, kiss the main character and die. He kinda got away with it. He really came into his own in This is 40. That whole scene where he's talking about Norweigan death metal seems so damn forced. Then again, I don't really feel comfortable with seeing him in the media at all unless it's directly related to music (not including his stint on The Voice).
