Joey
To fit their voices the music would literally be ALL over the place which wouldnt be a cohesive album... Yeah, that's why nobody talks about Abbey Road being a masterpiece or anything.
munns6691
Yeah, that's why nobody talks about Abbey Road being a masterpiece or anything. Nimrod was all over and it was great, but I don't want one full song on an album being sung by anyone other than Billie, let alone 3/4 of it
ryanf_xx
I don't know why but I never was a HUGE fan of Kerplunk!. Still a great album, I prefer the album after. Anyone who doesn't know what that is should NOT be here.

ryanf_xx
despite my love for its nostalgia, i think Blue sounds a bit crappy Are you KIDDING? That's terrible! Enema Of The State? HAHAHA I'm peeing myself HAHAHAHA
fromdecimateddreams
maybe because he's trying to make sure that everyone is playing at the right time...? I agree, actually. I mean, I understand that actually hearing him count in can be a bit annoying and overused at times, but I think that most of the time it's not for effect and is to help everyone get in tempo, especially if they're switching between songs with totally different tempos, like say... St Jimmy, which is ridiculously fast, and Longview, which is at a relatively slower pace in comparison to SJ. And also, Warning is one of my favourite albums. I don't know why, really. I just really lie the direction they took with that one and I feel like it worked out. It's kind of saddening how unerrated that album is (same goes for Kerplunk)

It's kind of saddening how unerrated that album is (same goes for Kerplunk) Yeah, the entire counting thing can get kind of dull, but when you're on stage and there are tons of people screaming at you and you're wearing earplugs so that you don't go deaf, sometimes you need a little bit of a metronome effect, so to speak. I agree on both of these counts! I love Warning and I feel that it does get underrated a lot, which makes me really sad. ): Misery is actually one of my all time favorite songs for some reason that I can't even explain because it's completely different from most other songs that I absolutely love, and I feel like it gets ignored a lot. The only song that Green Day has even played off of Warning recently is Minority, and that's actually one of my least favorites off of the album. I also feel that Kerplunk! gets underrated (though not to the same extent) mainly because it's stuck between 1039, which is their first album and which I absolutely love and which gets a lot of support for being their first album, and Dookie, which as I'm sure everyone knows blah blah first really popular album and which I also love. But yeah it makes me really sad that Warning and Kerplunk! don't get the attention they deserve (in my opinion).

HolyHandGrenade
not a big fan of Kerplunk too. it's my least favorite one. i skip most of the songs actually. I think the songs themselves are good, despite my distaste for how their first two records were produced and mixed. If the songs were redone in the vein of Nimrod (Dookiefied style) I'd love them. That's also why I prefer Holden Caulfield on AAF, and Words I Might Have Ate and One For the Razorbacks live from WMMR

KingForADay86
The trilogy I really like and Shenanigans is full of great songs. Don't Wanna Fall in Love is also my favorite song from the Dookie Demos.
Chelsee Angevine
Then why join in the first place? I am genuinely interested. I am on a Green Day kick I guess. Basically I was a huge fan when I was like 15-16 and then they sort of dulled out to me. They were mentioned on the radio at my work months ago because they were coming to my town in April and for the sake of nostalgia, I bought tickets. This meant I had to buy all the CDs I missed (21cb, trilogy, hot tubs & shit) so I could know all the songs and really enjoy the concert. It ended up being really good shit (duh) and I can't stop listening to it (and the concert was great) but I don't care to get educated about the band to the level that most people here are. I just like to talk about the music I know about. But I have the feeling it will all wear off pretty soon and I'll go back to listening to 17 year old girls sing Japanese pop music until Green Day comes around again. Who knows! I think I dragged on a little, sorry.
