AlissaGoesRAWR
Yesterday was officially an emotional roller coaster. Woke up wanting to murder a small town because my Cleveland show was cancelled. Got pit tickets for the Pittsburgh show within an hour, which actually works out better, because it's on a weekend and I won't have to worry about getting a day off of work to go. I was literally prancing around my house singing all day, I was so fucking happy. My family thinks I'm insane. So yeah, instead of spending Easter with my family that thinks I'm insane, I'll be practicing my true religion: this fucking band. (So sorry for all of you who got cancelled and have no other options though. I seriously can't even imagine what you feel like. ) I had such a "Oh thank God I don't have to worry about refunds or making crazy travel arrangements" attitude now I have to shell out hotel money, more gas money, etc. (And by "have," I mean "I'm crazy enough to do so." ) so that was dumb of me! You know you're exciiiiiiiited! Don't lie. Although to be honest the 3-hour drive back Sunday night so I can make it to work Monday morning is probably going to be so awful I'm going to want to kill my sleep-deprived self all day Monday. Oh I am, but yknow my pessimistic ass, and given how many clusterfucks have already happened with this tour, much like my attitude with the return of Arrested Development, I won't believe it's real until I've already experienced it P.S. Chris P FaFu
As everyone knows.. cleveland is canceled.. and i am not happy... not .... happy. it was the first show I was able to get a pit ticket for since my first gd show in 94... so yeah. bummed. I hope they announce more dates and Detroit has a shot... then I get to go through the stress of trying to get a pit ticket again.. doubt it. BasKerplunCase
I'm super bummed because this was supposed to be a Christmas gift from my bf's parents. (they know we both LOVE Green Day) and now they are saying that they can't schedule a time for us to come up there because our show got cancelled, even though there is another date that isn't but a few minutes from our original venue. I have the money to purchase the tickets and everything, but I have to convince them to actually come to this one...not sure why they changed their minds, but it's a super let down because I have been waiting for this since their last tour was over. Four.
RIGHT. Forgot about them, and was wondering who would be opening. Did Best Coast release a statement?
AndrewW91
They did not. But they don't have any other dates listed past January, so it could be a possibility. I really hope they are!

Slave To The Network
Does anyone know about any rescheduled dates not through ticket master? Because the Seattle tickets weren't sold through them. They were sold directly by the venue.
BasKerplunCase
Contact the venue. They should be able to let you know what's up.

BasKerplunCase
I'm kinda hoping they will have another opening act. Last tour, having AFI as the opening band was perfect! I want a band like that! I'm not saying that Best Coast is bad, I would just prefer a BETTER band.

Heather.
I think Best Coast said a few months ago that no matter when Green Day went back on tour they would be there to open for them, so I highly doubt it will change. I haven't listened to them at all, so I can't pass judgment. It would be cool for once to see a band I had already heard of open for Green Day, but whatever... I think I'll go sample some Best Coast now just to be fair But if they're the California surf band I'm expecting, it's true that they won't exactly pump people up for Green Day... However, I have to say I kinda like it when crappy or boring bands open up for Green Day.... I was really bored by the Kaiser Chiefs last time, and it made the contrast that much more awesome when Green Day finally took the stage ETA: Yep, listened to some songs and they're pretty good but they're not a rock band at all... so it's gonna be kinda weird. disappearing_boy_39
Actually, I've really been looking forward to Best Coast opening for Green Day because I like their simplistic, straightforward pop/rock/surf vibe. I think they understand the ethos of the DIY movement and therefore fit in perfectly. Remember, when Green Day first started playing Gilman Street in the late 80's, everyone said they weren't "punk enough". Then they became the biggest drawing band at the venue. Point being, different genres will enhance an evening of music. Can't wait for the Barclays show on Apr. 7th!

Monster Man is helping me type this I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've thoroughly convinced myself that I'll never actually see them live. That way, if I actually do, it will be that much more awesome. I will never say "when I see them," because it makes the clusterfuck of disappointment hurt less. I'm so proud of myself -- I actually didn't shed a tear when I found out they cancelled our show! (Granted, if I wasn't able to get Pitt tickets within an hour, I probably would have bawled my eyes out later that night...) But seriously, clusterfuck is the only way to describe this situation. My dad knows next to nothing about GD, but I was telling him the situation because he was so confused about our sudden change of plans, and when I explained that our concert venue was still selling tickets to a cancelled show, his only response was, "Wow, that band really isn't making friends, are they?" P.S. Monster Man gets the rep, btw, not you.

Agree; I think they'll be a good warm-up band, in that they won't be obnoxiously loud or crazy, making people tired before GD. It would be a nice contrast.
