Mar
Dont get me wrong im beyond glad that BJA is clean and healthy i just wish they did the whole "Tour" thing better some how, have every one get refunded on there tickets and then have a date where all the tickets go on sale? I just wish it was done better then it was. I got you, I got you. When you say "Green Day," you don't mean the band members, you mean the machine surrounding the band members. That's what frustrates me as well. It just turned into a giant clusterfuck. I still say they should have just scrapped the whole thing, done a couple one-off gigs to prepare for the Europe festivals and then waited to deal with the U.S. afterward because it just looks kind of silly going to six states and two Canadian cities. But what the fuck say do I have, I'm just talking out my ass. And I say this as someone who, unless something gets fucked up again, is going to one of those six states now so, again, hopefully if/when they do cancel it all, they give us enough time to cancel our hotel reservation

There also ain't no way they're ever going to do intimate venues again -- 3 hours on stage in a dive bar is just what a recovering alcoholic needs (not). Oh God, I'm a selfish asshole, I just thought to myself, This will probably be Green Day at their most ... how do I put this delicately, raw? Maybe short setlists, nervousness, etc. We'll pay a hell of a lot for not what we're used to. Yep, I'm going to hell. I'm a pessimistic bitch. Do you have any idea what goes into the making of a tour that was halted at last minute? Nope. You will get a refund for your money. It's not the end of the world. Now YOU show a little respect. I just read a few comments that seemed like it and got fed up and decided not to read through the thread anymore Regardless, this situation is really not a big deal. At all. You KNOW they're gonna tour the US again before they're done, so everyone with canceled shows will most likely be able to see them at some point again Any word though on if they're releasing any more tickets for any of the other shows to make up for it? Or is everyone just out of luck until next time they come 'round these parts?

captain peroxide
I don't think anyone's actually angry at the band. If you are, you're a douche silo. I think the people who are mad are mad at the management and the people who've been putting this whole thing back together. Admittedly, it probably wasn't an easy job, but it's also been handled pretty badly. Green Day aren't sitting there phoning venues themselves and emailing promoters, they have people to do it for them. And those people have done a less-than-stellar job with handling a clusterfuck. Whether that anger is justified or not is up to you to figure out.

Cause that's what i'm afraid of. Who ever is running their management needs a fucking wake up call. If your venue cancelled you should get refunds from Ticketmaster or the venue box office, wherever you bought your tix. At that point throw the tickets away, they will not be honored even if the band rebooks at the same venue later this year or next -- they'll do a completely fresh sale. If your venue is one of the 11 that now has a new, confirmed March/April date from this morning's official press release, take your tickets for the old date with you to the new show date, they'll be honored there. It goes without saying that if your original show was cancelled and you want to see them at one of the 11 venues where a March/April performance will take place, you need to buy new tix for the new show if they're still available, or buddy up with a friend who originally bought an extra seat. I don't even know if they'll come back to the cancelled venues. I sure hope so. Exactly. Beginning of the trilogy era i completely trusted their management and between the box set fuck ups and this, it's hard trust them. Don't hate but i really think they should have just postponed the tour till fall and have a FULL North American tour. As someone said earlier, maybe a couple surprise show shows to get them on their feet again and move along to the european tour. I'm sorry for being a hater and negative but this is fucking rediculous.
Heather.
I understand people being disappointed, but I fail to see in any logical way how management "fucked themselves" with this. The fact that all the shows people are now scrounging to get tickets to are already sold-out for GA and decent seats isn't exactly a bad thing for management. It's not like they're upset that maybe some people aren't going to get tickets to sold-out shows. That just means there is demand that can be accessed later when Green Day DOES tour in your area. Jarem Underway
You just need to wait, they're telling you they will announce west coast dates on early 2013, that's just a few hours away, so expect them anyday now, who knows you might get some shows in Cali, anyway I get how everybody feels frustrated, you have cancelled shows, no rescheduled ones around you, some people far from those places will just book a flight, hotel room or they'll drive long hours to see them, some others don't have the liberty to do that, and now some of you start thinking they should've scrapped the whole tour, and I say this is ok, I'm sure some will be announced dates before March 28th, after the European shows, they'll catch a break in the remaining weeks of July, then after the first week of August maybe it will be time to start another tour, don't lose your hopes 'cause then it could be their comeback to the US, and by that time Billie Joe will be even better, things will be made up and you'll be happy. I live in Mexico and I still say you americans are lucky as fuck, here, we are thousands and thousands of crazy fans suffering the same frustration some of you have right now every year, last time they came here was december 2004, and everyday we live with the fear we might not even get one freaking date when the time comes, they didn't visit us on their last south american tour on 2010, and what I'm getting at is... well yeah, probably you'll have to wait a lot of months for them to announce more shows to satisfy you, but you're in a country no matter how big and no matter when you'll always have the chance to see them. They promised to return to Mexico on 2013, and if they do, thousands of fans here will also bitch about how they only visit Mexico City, but even if they have to escape from their parents two days to go see them they won't give a fuck if they get grounded, or if they miss some dumb school tests, if Green Day then goes to some other city here, I know it would be in Monterrey, a city that's 15 fucking hours away to get there, and still I will drive there no matter what gets in my way 'cause it will be a one time only, now possibly you don't give a fuck about my opinion but just be patient, I'm glad you got your dates and I stay positive you'll get MORE. Davis Weiss
Yeah we could all spend hours going on about how we had tickets to ___ show, you had ga for $___ and now tickets for upper bowl cost $___. To whatever show you are closest to. Trust me I feel the same way because I had tickets to a cancelled show and it was going to be my first show. But the thing is the band is not at fault here. We all know that they feel horrible about canceling their tour that they had planned for the west coast. But they are not the ones (as far as we know) that planned these exact postponed dates. Yeah I really wanted to see them too but this is what we have to deal with now. Yeah I'm angry, but at the management and crew around the band. Not the band themselves. TL:DR don't be angry at the band. Just the management.

But just the whole way the situation was handled: Info being leaked, no official announcements, ticketmaster, the missunderstanding of the word "soon". It was just handled pretty damn poorly. Oh, I agree, and I'm upset about it, too, especially because their show in my town got canceled. I'm lucky enough to still get to see them at another venue, though, so that puts it in perspective for me. Anyone who has no chance of seeing them on this leg, that really sucks, but we know they'll be back, and hopefully to the places they canceled at this time. It's not like Italy, who've gotten fucked over for something like 3 years now. They'll probably be back in the US by fall of next year.

Randomly scheduling 11 gigs and cancelling 10 because they were concerned for Billie's health is just...weird. Not the being concerned for his health part, but how were these shows even rescheduled? There are so many questions that I doubt we will ever get an answer to. I don't even consider this a first leg of a North American tour. Maybe a first...foot? Haha I don't know, this whole situation is a gigantic clusterfuck because of how the management has approached this. I wonder if they are regretting this now or what. Perhaps doing 6 or 7 shows a couple weeks before the European festivals, and then coming back to do a full North American tour would have been a better approach, but I'm not sure. tresrocknrollgf
I completely understand everyone's frustration here. Keep in mind though that it isn't any of the band members faults that the shows were canceled, as well as the management. Because of postponing the tour, it's kind of hard to rebook certain dates because of future conflictions at so arenas. However, maybe the management could've booked the dates earlier, making room for less cancellations. however, that still would've been tricky because no one really knew when Billie would recover. Now that he's better, they're going back on road, and you'll most likely still see them, keeping in mind that it may not always be your 1st choice.
