I rely on concerts to give me happiness. But it's just a bummer.

So, it looks like I'm going to Pittsburgh unless that gets canceled, too. I'll be paying out of my ass in hotel costs since it's a holiday weekend show. Let's hope this works out.

Agreed it's a bummer.....sounds like you (and all of us) have a few more things that we can learn from Billie's experiences! They've confirmed Pittsburgh so methinks yer finally good there. Glad at least that came through for you....so now my psychobabble "living in reality" spin: you got three months now to figure out how to absorb the costs -- make conscious choices about how to spend your $ between now and then -- it'll all work out, you'll have a blast, and you'll even have a couple bucks left over for a fucking t-shirt. :)

Yeah, hopefully it'll work out. If they do decide to cancel the whole tour, I just hope they do it with enough advanced warning that we can cancel our hotel reservation and not have to eat it!

I am about to call my local box office to see when tickets are to go on sale and if they know about the new dates

And I will fully admit that, thankfully, I haven't known anyone who's had these issues (I mean, I do have some anxiety problems but comparatively, not so much), so that makes sense and I can't imagine what he's going through. It's just a bummer. Again, partially my fault that I'm such a fuckup that I rely on concerts to give me happiness. But it's just a bummer.

come to the pittsburgh show! I met a lot of people waiting in line for that show and it was a blast. Off topic, but I wonder if they'll do the soundcheck thing again this time around...i.e. do I need to purchase a specific phone to get into it...

Glad I'll be able to make Fairfax. I bought tickets to 4 shows and that's the only one not canceled. I'm lucky that the one that is closest to where I live is the one that's not canceled. I feel grateful to be able to see them on this short tour, especially since short bursts of touring, I agree, will be the way of the future for Green Day. If it keeps the guys healthy, I wholeheartedly support that plan. Endless touring would be hard on anyone.

****Just broke down and bought 2 tickets to CT as an early birthday present to myself. With the refunds on the other 3 shows (4, if you include Reno,) it evens out, yes?

So April 4 - 6 will be Green Day extravaganza weekend!!!!!

What I find most interesting about the shows that were canceled is that it's not random "couldn't get this venue here, couldn't rebook this date there..." ... because the geographic locations are not random. They cancelled the northernmost New England Shows, and everything further West than Illinois. So it obviously has nothing to do with sales, and might not even have anything to do with logistical scheduling, which would be the MOST acceptable excuse for the cancellations... they clearly decided to rid themselves of a section of the tour entirely. It's possible some of the venues were unaccommodating and they didn't see the point of keeping the others, but I think it's mostly the things Michael's been saying... keeping the band at an introductory pace that doesn't involve insane amounts of travel. Keeping in mostly in the Northeast means short bus trips between big cities... less overwhelming than too much plane-hopping. That also explains why they're going to be announcing West coast dates soon, which will presumably be a handful of Bay Area and California shows. They'll probably do those close to home venues to ease back into it. Unfortunately, that means a good chunk of the country is being left out (for now! I'm sure they'll hit everyone up in the future) for this beginning start of the tour.

I might buy my tickets of 2tickets.ca because the people over a billetech still don't know about the reschedueling of the show. I kinda broke the news to them...lol

You're absolutely right ... except for my Cleveland date  Damn, they just don't like Ohio anymore, do they?

One date I was planning on got cancelled and the other got rescheduled but I can't go. Oh well. Pretty much what I was expecting. I'm glad that Billie is better and they're going to start touring again soon and ease back into things.

Brooklyn GA is all ready sold out on Ticketmaster. This is going to be a shit show getting tickets for these concerts with all the tickets being honored. Green Day really fucked this one up :S

I also wonder if that was a part of the plan ... sell out the few venues they could? Like, maybe they figured "Hey, cancel the Cleveland show, they'll go to Pittsburgh or Philly and get a better return on them," or whatever. I got lucky that my wonderful friend got us pit tickets for Pittsburgh, but it looks like most won't have that luck. That really sucks for those who had pit tickets for their respective shows and won't be so lucky now. I'm so sorry this is happening to everyone.

I'm not even gonna bother anymore. Figure I would attempt to try and go to the Saturday show in Connecticut. No GA seating left and fucking balcony seats were $77 bucks. Compared to in Manchester when I had GA for $70 bucks. This is shit, management really fucked this up. Big time.

GA tickets for that show were already sold out even before it was postponed.

Equally important even for people who got the raw end of the cancellations and will now be unable to see the band: It's a fucking rock concert, people, it's not life or death. It's the kind of thing that classifies in my mother's humble opinion as "flat tire in the driveway" shit. Life sucks sometimes but it's far from the end of the world.

i get health is important....the most important.billie green day has enough money to stop doing what they are doing and go sit on the sand for the rest of there time. but i think they really fucked themselfs hard here...i was going to the NH show. i am pissed. i am not going to be understanding anymore. show some fucking respect for people who spend more than 100 bucks a pop to see you guys. and to who ever says its out of there control...you are wrong there green day. they can do whatever i would have told the promotors we are not playing if you can't do all the dates. this is stupid. they fucked them selfs. 11 dates? figure it the fuck out.
