Just got the email saying the shows cancelled. I'm done. Screw Green Day. Thank you for keeping my hopes up for the last 3 months instead of just coming out and saying the show was cancelled. I'm done.

It's probably beyond their control. They probably found a time when most of the dates would work to be rescheduled but there were two or three venues that already had something booked for that time. Rather than moving the whole tour back even further for a couple dates, they probably thought it would just be easier to cancel the dates that wouldn't work with the band's/venue's schedules.

I really really hope the Providence show isn't canceled! That's supposed to be my first GD concert!

I hope the CT date doesn't get canceled :( This defiantly could have been better organized in the sense that they've kinda kept us in the dark the entire time but they gotta do what they gotta do

seriously... first of all *insert huge speech about how billies health is more important that you here*. Second, shows are only being cancelled now because you can only hold onto peoples money for so long. Green day had every intention to postpone or they would have just cancelled them all, they simply ran out of time. They arent doing this to fuck with you. its just the nature of the situation, grow up a bit

Yeah, they thought it would be easier to screw thousands of hopeful fans after waiting months and months for them to be rescheduled. Thank you for caring about your fans Green Day. Me buying all of your memorabilia and CD's and giving you money was definately worth it. The one time to look forward to finally see my favorite band and i had to be hopeful for 3 months and just come out and say it's cancelled. That's shit.

Look, i'm sorry if i'm so pissed. I know his health is more important, and im really hoping it's just a ticketmaster screw up and they will try to reschedule the date. But i have been waiting so damn long to see my favorite band and it feels like i was just screwed over. So i'm just incredibly aggrivated.

Not beyond the initial postponed email. But if everything else is being cancelled and, hopefully, rescheduled, sadly I would assume this for Rosemont too. But will wait for official word before crying.

I think Providence got cancelled too.

I'm so fucking pissed but that's probably because I'm already having a bad day. Same fucking thing happened for my Blink tix at the same place.

I had pit tix both fucking times

I'm not going to assume that cause it only seems like 2 or 3 dates have been cancelled...wouldn't they just do one mass announcement if all the shows were cancelled? That's kind of making me think that most of the dates are still on and only a few had to be cancelled due to conflicts.

It's okay to be pissed off, i was going to the same show as you so i understand. But you have to realize that they're coming back. You act like this was your only chance but they arent just going to skip over America... You'll get your chance dont worry. I just dont know why you feel so cheated. Don't you understand whats going on with the band? The entire thing was wait and see with Billie Joe so would you rather have them cancel the whole thing from the start and just give up on the chance that he might be better in time? i wouldnt.

In my perspective cancelling these dates is the same as adding more time to the postponing deadline

I understand that some of the venues couldn't work with their new tour set up, but it's the fact that I have to go through the task of getting those tickets again.

We all know how stressful getting Green Day tickets are.

i had really good seats too :sorry:

Patience is a virtue people. New dates will come soon and I am sure they will have an extended US leg and then a second one.

I'm assuming they will play secondary markets which they usually hold off for the second leg of their tours (over the last 6 years) during the first leg which (and I'm guessing) would start somewhere in late fall or early winter of 2013 (snapping up good venues won't be so easy with that short notice) and then probably a second leg after a short break from the European tour which would find them on a second leg going in to the summer festival season of 2014. It's completely possible that they might not even play a show in the States until after the European summer tour.

This is all, of course, contingent upon what Billie feels like either sober, or finding it difficult to remain so on the road. As I've said before, if Billie is truly trying to be sober sober, the road and the stage is going to be a big trigger for him and he might find himself in a place where he has to make tough decisions for what is best for him and his family rather than for Green Day and their fans. Many bands have gone sour after getting sober, but many have soured to new heights (i.e. Aerosmith). We shall see and hope for the best.

Agreed with all of your points -- Billie's been handling this as if it really was his "rock bottom", and however the band rebounds from it, they're simply going be behaving differently -- I expect more subdued, less barely-in-control-explosive, more "mature" if you will -- both on and off stage. They're going to have no choice but to if Billie really intends to stay on the wagon from here on out. And that, m'friends, is going to be challenging for a band whose drummer often speaks of mushroom enjoyment and where the band itself is named after sitting around getting high all day. Billie mentioned in numerous interviews how he needs to slam a shot or two before a gig to calm and channel his nerves right before getting on stage -- as a recovering addict he simply can't do that anymore and will need to find some other way to focus himself and manage his anxiety before performing. That said, I hope they'll all rise to the challenge -- they're professionals, they've been working alongside each other for more than two decades, they've always loved what they do, they're damn good at it, and the music world's a whole lot better when they're rocking out in it as a band.

It sounds a mean but i really hope they cancel all the shows and redo the whole tour at a later date. Now that my show has been cancelled its not like i can just repurchase tickets to another nearby show. the tickets are already all gone. I now pray for your demise!

Yeah, I get it. I'm just gonna wait till Green Day comes out with an official word with what's going on.

They REALLY need to make an official announcement soon. This is ridiculous.

Thank you. Management needs to say something because people are getting all their news from Ticketmaster which is very confusing when the band has said next to nothing about this entire process.
