Comic Sans
Ah right. I never really thought about the origins, just accepted it as a word Actually me too I've done so good holding out so far. I'm thinking I may spoil one song for myself for such good behavior Any suggestions? Definitely Dirty Rotten Bastards, but then you may explode for the amazingness. !
I don't agree with you, but I'm going to say just 3 things: 1. No one here is defending every thing they do. 2. I gave you a like just for writing so long 3. An advice: (please note: not a reproach, just an advice) if you didn't enjoyed Trè, don't say it around, these guys can lynch you Just say "Yeah! It was amazing! And then move to Jamaica That's not the problem. Just because this is a Green Day website, doesn't mean people can't give criticism's. What bothers most people is when someone gives a review and they just make it seem like what they say is pure fact.

The final depict of the album and nothing else is correct. If that's the case, I'm so far left with the fact that I absolutely love this album! As for Cameron review, well he already said he liked Uno and Dos, no one can't expect him or every other single fan to like all the 37 songs, it's just unrealistic and I think even Green Day know it
Comic Sans
EVERYONE! PLEASE! CALM! DOWN! Ok, I won't repeat, I'm saying this once to Cameron, WrongWayToSalvation (nothing personally, man), and everyone that usually does what Cameron just did. They shouldn't say it as a fact, but just express their OPINION. And everyone here shouldn't criticize them anymore. If someone stop telling things as facts and the other ones stop criticize them, no one will have problems.

WrongWayToSalvation
Make myself look smarter? No, simply I can say I have a much more diverse musical knowledge. I listened to two random songs by that guy, and he sounds like an improved version of Kanye West minus the autotune and the stupid lyrics. And I knew the guy before from some other not so Kanye themes. Beatles didn't write better lyrics than other bands at the time, but they were regarded as the better band (not that I concur). You cited Indie as one of his influences, and there you have it, Indie is generally a pseudo genre of kids that want to show they can play pseudo jazzy and bluesy scales with even more pseudo deep lyrics. Of course there is the occasional good band, but really is to rock what metalcore is to metal and 50 cent based artists to Hip Hop. Real lyrics, i won't put the songs as most of you guys wouldn't stand them: Cradle of Filth - Bathory Aria Cradle of Filth - Funeral in Carpathia Tool - 10 000 days Now stop comparing Real artists with a guy that shadowrites for Justin Bieber please. With this I have to agree with you. Album sales don't determine one's quality. Gangman Style would be the best song ever! That's pretinous of you, like those lyrics. Complexity shines through simplicity, like thin skin against bone. Using a lot of complicated metaphors, analogies, or descriptions means nothing. Intelligence is not measured by knowledge, it's measured by how that knowledge is applied. Take for example this song: Half Light by Arcade Fire: http://www.metrolyrics.com/half-light-i-lyrics-arcade-fire.html Deep meaningful lyrics, that don't sound overly convulated or thought out. It flows, it's simple, yet complex.
OneSongInFrench
Typical fanboy defense mechanism, nice. Despite the fact that I do love Green Day, success doesn't equate to the product actually being good. With that kind of mindset, you must be saying Lil' Wayne and One Direction are better than those who sold less records than them, right? Not at all - and I wouldn't say Fanboy in the least. I've worked in the music industry for 5 or 6 years now, producing records and managing a few bands. I've done promotional work for Roadrunner Records and Victory Records as well. Lil Wayne would never make it to Broadway, or a film because his lyrics aren't of that caliber The Grammys' are a joke, but an accolade worth mentioning nonetheless. One Direction don't write their own music or songs, so that still negates the point of lyricism which was my main point. Green Day are far from my favorite lyricist and that's exactly my point. However I won't say that Billie Joe is a bad songwriter or juvenile. Because even though some of his lyrics are just that, he's already proven himself to be a diverse force-to-be reckoned with in the music world. I'd refrain from insulting me or putting me in a group of people who blindly follow musicians because assumptions are pretty detrimental to ones "argument." Which is pointless, i'm not arguing. I'm content with you thinking whatever you WANT about Green Days' new album or lyrical ability, because in the end - that's all I can do is say my opinion which happens to be opposite of yours. Neither wins, so let's call it a moot point. it's called an opinion people! An opinion, an option you choose on feelings of a certain situation or event! spacesauce
Ok, just listened to Brutal Love and that alone will satisfy me until I have my copy! That song is THE perfect example of why I'm with this band until the end. I love that Green Day is always about good music and are one of the few mainstream bands who do not box themselves in. No the lyrics are not the most genius and the melody is nothing new here relative to the style of the song, but for stepping out of the box and doing something different for the band, the execution of this song is top notch. I have listened to The Forgotten, but no other official version of any song off of Tre--I have to say BRUTAL LOVE feels like an epic closer. Don't get me wrong--I think The Forgotten has a timeless feel to it, but some of the lyrics verge on being too cheesy for me. Just gotta say thanks to Green Day right now for always moving forward. joeysturkeyhead
"Don't argue with others opinion" yet you're telling those with an opinion to "get over yourselves." You're doing exactly what you're not telling us not to do. Nice contradiction. I didn't tell anyone to get over themselves because they're having an opinion, I'm saying it because some people talking like what they say is right and no other opinion is right, just like you do. I'm not contadicting, I'm just saying that you're not an expert and no one is, therefore it's all about taste, you think someone is a better songwriter than Billie and I sat he's the best songwriter, your problem is that you're talking like "Whatever you say, everyone elses opinions suck". I said "It's all about personal opinions", read the damn post properly.
