sampy
Does he sing on DRB as well? I know a review talked about him singing, but I could've sworn they said he sang on DRB. No, I don't think so. But that's definitely Mike in S,D&V!

BlackBaboon
I have to be honest, if you don't like this album you probably need to expand your musical tastes. This is definitely the best of the trilogy. It might not be in your top five hundred of all time albums but to say UNO is better is just ridiculous. burnout409
This is gonna sound so cheesy and shity but Uno and Tre just wanna make me have fun, fall in love, go crazy and just get lost in everything i love!!! They just have a great all out vibe!
Cob
I also want to point out- Where did our lyrical master go? I was really expecting this to be lyrically better than the other 2 but i was proved so wrong on every song after Drama Queen. I'm the son of Rage and Love, the Jesus of Suburbia-to- LET YOURSELF GO, LET YOURSELF GO, LET YOURSELF GOOOO Cause I'm thinking bout a brand new hope, one I've never known, cause now I know its all that I wanted-to- ITS 99 REVOLUTIONS TONIGHT x's 100 You can do this with any song, It's making me sad because I do feel like they were losing it. Are you just looking for examples of repeating choruses? Cause there are some great lyrics on this album, in fact on this album and the other 2. On 21st Century Breakdown his writing was ridiculously over bearing and convoluted, to the point where the plot could barely be followed. He decided to take a step back on these records. I don't see whats wrong with that. We're only noticing because there are so many songs...if this was only one record no one would complain about it. I see you're point but what i like most about this trio of albums is it feels like Green Day have put in parts reminiscent of all previous albums which is great imo as this forum shows we all have our own favourite Green Day album/sound/era... I can see how songs like Let yourself go could seem repetetive to some fans but for me it's one of my favourite from the trilogy, the solo and repetitive chorus makes me feel like i'm listening to a 1039 style track which is my favourite Green Day era and the verses remind me more of an insomniac/nimrod track.. My point is as fans we all have our favourite parts about Green Day but i think these albums cater for everyone and i definetly hear bits that remind me of AI and 21st centuary in some of the songs, the lyrics may not tell as much a story but they arn't concepts anymore (thankfully) and just from the top of my slightly drunk head Amy is a great example of how powferful the lyrics can be.. This is all psychological. We're only noticing it because we're getting 37 songs practically at once. Before no one really noticed. I also think the expectations associated with 3 albums are also causing some of the increased scrutiny, but that's a debate for another time and place, and frankly I'm too busy enjoying Tre to get into it. Agreed. People are nitpicking and saying stuff like it sounds the same as other Green Day songs and they're not creative anymore. Bullshit. No! Your not looking at whole songs here, you literally only comparing about 30 seconds worth of songs at the most which isn't going to compare well at all! Its not a fair judgement! Listen to the lyrics to the rest of 99 Revolutions they are great lyrics! Repetition is also part of great song writing by the way, its a technique used to make a point more, its been used time and time again through out music and is very effective! sundown
green day is not the best band lyrically. i think lyrics have to be simple and understandable, green day goes too deep in political and other terms, i think mxpx and old good charlotte has the best lyrics. Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap
some people need to expand their music library and brush up on their music history.. educate your pallette these are great songs I have to be honest, if you don't like this album you probably need to expand your musical tastes. What does this mean? The stuff on the album that's disappointing is the stuff that sounds like Green-Day-by-numbers. Apart from The Forgotten of course, that's just generic-ballad-album-closer-by-numbers.

You cannot judge a persons music taste on their opinion of 1 album! And i have to disagree i don't think Uno is a repetitive album at all, its catchy and has more of a pop rock feel than most other Green Day albums which i get why some people may not like it as much, but i like to think i have a relatively wide variety of taste in music and i love Uno! I do also love Tre, it is definitely high on my list of favorite Green Day albums at the moment! green day is not the best band lyrically. i think lyrics have to be simple and understandable, green day goes too deep in political and other terms, i think mxpx and old good charlotte has the best lyrics. It's hard to be a Green Day fan. When we got used to epic arena rock anthems with past two records and deep oh so deep lyrics, other than that you're not okay with anything else. It's your limit because you got used to it. I don't wanna even imagine what it's going to be in the future, something like: "LOL DID THEY JUST RELEASED ONLY ONE ALBUM?? TWO OR LESS IS SOOOOO LAME AND WEAK". That works for expectations for album sales too. I think there's too much people who only thinks that if their new stuff doesn't top American Idior or isn't as good as it is, sucks. AI and 21stCBD were an era on their own. This is the beginning of something new. It just doesn't work if they roll same ideas and stuff over and over again. Seasons change as well as minds. Bullshit. Just shut up and enjoy the work of one of the best bands on the planet. While it may not be the most popular here and is pretty repetetive i'd say Kill the DJ is one of the most creative (bar the 9min songs) since Misery just cos it's such a different style to the standard powerchord song you'd expect off Green Day.
