Austin_of_Suburbia
I've listened through twice now. I was left feeling generally underwhelmed after the first listen, the songs' order in places makes the album feel like it's grinding to a halt just as it's picking up steam. BUT, after a second attempt with headphones in, laying in bed and remembering this is the 'hangover' I was in the right headspace to enjoy this really very good album. I'd still say the album's track order is a little jarring, and songs like Amanda and Missing You are good but nothing I'd be pointing out to friends as "worth listening to". They kinda just wash over me. But there is a shit-ton of awesome on this thing! I liked the live recording of Drama Queen from the 21CB tour and love it's final form here. 8th Ave Serenade in my mind would make an excellent opener and Brutal Love the epic closer, but The Forgotten has its charm and works as the album's end. Dirty Rotten Bastards is my favourite thing on ¡TRE!... and possibly the whole trilogy. There are no words, it's just fucking amazing. It made me sit up and crank the volume full. Just... AAAAHH! Now to begin formulating the 'Best of Trilogy' playlist!!!
She is Amanda
I kinda hated it. The first half was really good, but I was really looking forward to Amanda, it hit NOTHING close to my expectations. The lyrics were changed, and the voice filter made me sick. Walk Away and 99 Revolutions are more repetitive than Call Me Maybe. I'm so tired of these voice filters. I've kind of hit the fact the Green Day only sounds good live, I feel like they put more emotion into their songs that way.

East Hayzus Nowhere
This is an ongoing post as I continue to listen to Tre. 1.) Brutal Love. Beautiful guitars, but the song as a whole is pretty much more of the same. Nothing too special about it and it really drags on. 2.) Missing You. Decent intro. Digging it so far......and now it's starting to sound a little too familiar. Yeah...this is basically fell for you. 3.) 8th Avenue Serenade Wow...that was a really messy intro. Liking the harmonies mixed with the guitars. Pretty cool. This one isn't as much of a let down as the other two. Might end up warming up to it. Still a bit underwhelming as a whole. 4.) Drama Queen Already heard it. It's not bad but you guys really did overrate this right off the bat. It's good but I'm not even sure it's top 15 when I look at the big picture. Wasn't this album supposed to be epic? So far you've got 4 ballad sounding songs in a row, and I know the Forgotten is coming up too. Not a bad one. It's cute. 5.) X-kid Okay. This one is a little different. I'm liking it so far. Yeah I really liked that one. Conveyed the emotion well. 6.) Sex, Drugs, and Violence Still waiting for something to appreciate in this one. Okay it's not that bad. Might wait for it to grow on me. Fun little song. 7.) Little Boy Named Train Don't like this one. Not one bit. 8.) Amanda This one is pretty meh. Same old same old, different lyrics. Seriously, this trilogy has a serious lack of variety. I'm sorry. Uno! was great, but Dos and Tre, what I've heard so far are very underwhelming. 9.) Walk Away Nice intro so far. Bit too repetitive though 10.) Dirty Rotten Bastards. Okay I'm digging this one a lot. Too long. Jesus Of Suburbia it is not. Turned on it around 3 minutes in. 11.) 99 Revolutions Well they couldn't release an album without at least one political statement. Not a bad one though. 12.) The Forgotten. My favorite song from the entire trilogy Initial reaction: The most disappointing album of the trio. I'm sure this thread is full of people who can see no fault in anything Green Day does, but other than The Forgotten, X-Kid, and Drama Queen, nothing on this album stands out to me or is memorable at all. I really don't even feel like giving it a second listen. I really don't. Disappointed but not as much as I would be if this was the only album released. At least with these 3 albums I got one albums worth of really good songs.
Guest
Guys, I just thought of this, but what if BJ is out of rehab and is done with green day? I mean it's been awhile. What if he just can't handle it? lol That's the only response this comment deserves.

Milo Goes To Pasalacqua
I think what will make me truly *like* this album will be when i have it on my iPod, earphones in my ears while i am hurring around to my next class in college or jogging around the fields at home. I actually think i'm not in the mood for most of Tré's songs tonight, i'm just so wrecked, tired, lonely, down and fried, but once i'm in the right mindset, it'll sink in so i can enjoy it. That's kinda what happened with Uno for me. I can't process it right now at this moment in time. This state of mind will pass. Can't wait til i can enjoy Tré thoroughly! Cob
I love it when people don't like something they immediately say those of use who do enjoy it are just being stupid fans. No we're not, 21st Century Breakdown proved that to me...maybe we just genuinely enjoyed the albums and there's something wrong with you? I don't know, and who cares. Just shut up! Lol Nah man, I can't see it happening. Most of the time, bands are already fucked up by infighting, and this sort of thing exacerbates it. But the guys are too close for something like this to come between them. Besides, look at how much rehab bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers have gone through. They made it out okay. Bass solo in Dirty Rotten Bastards! FUCK YEAH! So good. It's his best bass stuff since Warning.

She is Amanda
I also want to point out- Where did our lyrical master go? I was really expecting this to be lyrically better than the other 2 but i was proved so wrong on every song after Drama Queen. I'm the son of Rage and Love, the Jesus of Suburbia-to- LET YOURSELF GO, LET YOURSELF GO, LET YOURSELF GOOOO Cause I'm thinking bout a brand new hope, one I've never known, cause now I know its all that I wanted-to- ITS 99 REVOLUTIONS TONIGHT x's 100 You can do this with any song, It's making me sad because I do feel like they were losing it. Slappypunk
I love how Brutal Love sounds so much like one of my favorite psychobillly bands Three Bad Jacks. Check it out Three Bad Jacks when I heard the riff I was like damn similar shit lol But I really love Amanda! Awesome album!
