nofuckinsaint
In a word, yes. So you would be more excited for a Green Day concert featuring Angel Blue, Fell For You, and Loss of Control than one with Baby Eyes, Ashley, Wow! Thats Loud, and Makeout Party? Without Dos there is no rock show!

Guest
So you would be more excited for a Green Day concert featuring Angel Blue, Fell For You, and Loss of Control than one with Baby Eyes, Ashley, Wow! Thats Loud, and Makeout Party? Without Dos there is no rock show! God yes. Those Uno tracks are way better than that filler off Dos. Seriously, it sounds like Green Day just threw some chords together with some half-assed lyrics just to fill out the album. I'd prefer if they'd made it an EP rather than filling it with crap. Besides, I'd much rather play Uno at a party. Dos is a mess.

PanicAttack!
On the Green Day scale, these are my ratings. The way I rate them is that every song starts at a 9/10, presuming a song where I can find no objective or subjective downside. 10/10 is reserved for the extraordinary, groundbreaking song that is beyond 'perfect'. Filler is anything ranging from 3-4, and 1-2 is really bad, or terrible (not gonna be relavant here). It can only compare to other Green Day material, as it is the 'Green Day scale' and everything else would score pretty low on it. Brutal Love: 7/10 Lovely song. But I took it two down, one because it seems some of the melodic phrases and lyrics are reused classics (still fitting though), and one because I found the last minute of it unnecessarily gloomy, the chord progression felt too heavyhearted from the rest of the musically pretty lighthearted song. It could've been close to a 8/10 without it. I absolutely love the horns and the ooh's in the background. Sounds like something Elvis' could've done. Seriously, try to imagine it sung in Elvis' voice, or if you can, imitate it yourself, it's totally possible. Missing You: 6/10 Took it three down. It's important to acknowlegde that six out of ten is still a damn pretty good song on the scale. It's a pretty sweet Green Day pop-punk tune, nice chorus, but it lacks some lyrical depth, and I didn't find the second verse that interesting. I would give it 5/5 but all the catchy hooks takes it up a notch. 8th Avenue Serenade: 5/10 Sometimes a catchy song can get dragged on, but in this case it's actually not filling out it's potential. I like the wandering nature of the lyrics, almost like a poem, but I think it's not fulfilled, it could've used a couple extra verses to satisfy me better when listening to it (never just filler-lyrics though, then it's actually better to just leave it short). I didn't dig the solo either. Drama Queen: 6/10 I like the big arrangement in contrast to the acoustic live version. What I didn't find that interesting was the added verse, it doesn't live up to the first two. The first and last verse is always important if there is more than two. I missed some edge too, I always saw it as an edgy song, but it's a little too clean in this version. X-Kid: 8/10 Probably gonna score the highest on the album, but I'm okay with not giving any 9's or 10's, the trilogy doesn't have huge standout hits or masterpieces, but about 30/37 songs I love and find amazing, which is actually more impressive than any other of their albums, if you count uno, dos & tre as one 'project' as I do. Back to X-Kid, only complaint is small things like the transition to the bridge which I found weird, though the bridge itself surprised me positively, when I thought I knew how the whole song would go. The main riff is one of the best things about the song, but the outro after the last chorus was the one too many. Sex, Drugs & Violence: 5/10 The majority of it is pretty decent, and even though the chorus is a little bad, it's also a little bad in a good way. "Sex, drugs and violence, english math and science" is stupid, but also fun. Besides that it's a little weird, and I don't think the mood of the chorus fits with the rest. Maybe it'll grow? Right now it feels like "Loss of Control" kinda deal, catchy but nothing that gets you excited. Little Boy Named Train: 5/10 I was a little disappointed with this because I had high expectations, but taking that into account it's still a good song. I dig the groove with the small breaks in the verses which are pretty symptomatic of Green Day. The "serious people are funny to me, funny people seem so serious" made me cringe a little. The thing he does at 03:16 though, I LOVE IT! Amanda: 6/10 I felt like giving it 5/10 but I have to remember that I've listened alot to this song before, and back then I found it extremely good, so that's to Amanda's advantage, cause I'm a different man, than 5 months ago... Walk Away: 4/10 6/10 I almost dubbed this as the album's only filler track, because it didn't catch my attention after the first 2-3 listens, and I found the chorus too repetetive, but then, while writing this I listened to it again, and merely because of the last minute of the song, it goes up by two points. It's like it is suddenly infused with new life. The sudden modulation of key at 02:37 and the way Billie sneers out the lyrics at 03:10 caught me emotionally this time around, and I had to change the score on impulse. Dirty Rotten Bastards: 7/10 I found it more comparable to Homecoming than Jesus of Surburbia, because the parts seem alot more randomly combined, yet, it's NEITHER a JOS or a Homecoming style song. I think this is a medley, and a mixed bag of songs, and something that Green Day has never done before. I really enjoyed it, especially the introductional part, the fast part that went "fuck the world this is my revolution" and "what the fuck does O.K stand for?", and the "carried away"-part, though the latter got carried away for a little bit too long, like the "you're all forgiven" of A Quick One by The Who. I didn't really like the reprise of the "calling all demons..." part, it was boring. It also seemed similar to Before the Lobotomy, in which I didn't like the reprise either. Oh, and lastly, I love when there is some kind of reference to the theory of the music in the lyrics. I'm talking about 05:23 where the lyrics go "we don't say no, we say 1, 2, 3", and on 1, 2, 3 the time signature changes from 4/4 to 3/4. It's like the part in I Fought the Law where the time chances on "robbing people with a six gun", also to 3/4, but for two measures, making six beats! Oh never mind, it's a little geeky. 99 Revolutions: 8/10 I've grown a bit bored of it compared to when I first saw the live video from Japan, and heard it at the Shepherds Bush, but that's only because I've listened to it so much. I have to be a little objective too, and say that this song has single quality, and that counts for something. Only thing I can point out is that a more American Idiot style sound would've fitted it better, also it's a bit cheesy in some way, but that still fits a topical protest song like this. better that than being too direct with the Occupy inspiration. X-Kid is still my personal favorite, but that was more of a subjective judgement, this is a more objective 8/10. The Forgotten: 7/10 As with 99 Revolutions, I've grown a little tired after heavy listening, but I think it's almost as good of a song as Brutal Love, actually also similar in a way. I found it truly very beatle-esque, which is the only song where I can clearly hear it. I love the strings, and the guitar solo is one of the best of the trilogy in the "classy" category, it cant be compared to all the epic bluesy and shredding solos which are many, especially on iDOS!. I'm trying not to let the Twillight thing interefere with my judgement, which I think I've avoided. That's it. I'll probably calculate the average score and come back. Edit: 6.3/10 Right now, I feel this is my favorite of the trilogy, but I can't be sure until I've listened equally to each of them.

Stefano Bras
I actually like those songs. They're a damn sight better than Makeout Party, Baby Eyes, Ashley, and Lady Cobra. They're like songs that were rejected from Stop Drop and Roll!!! for being too boring. You dont like Baby Eyes and Ashley?, I think you maybe spelled wrong. It's impossible dislike Baby Eyes and Ashley.
Requila
Walk Away = Baba O Reilly Anyone? Yea like someone above me said it seems to be a pretty popular chord sequence. It really reminded me of this song by The Wallflowers, it's pretty much the same. Don't think Walk Away will be one of my favourites, but I quite enjoy it. The only difference between the Uno 'filler' and the Dos 'filler' is that Dos makes me run, jump, and scream the lyrics whereas Uno makes me reach for the skip button. I could maybe agree if Uno had great lyrics or something but it just doesn't.
