pruettcc
listening for the first time right now, on walk away right now. im really excited to hear dirty rotten bastards, but i may be a minority here who just simply isn't blown away by this album. it's definitely a good record with some good songs, but they honestly all bleed together to me into one big forgettable sound. i like the ambition in the "grand" sound and "hangover type reflection" going on here, but idk, this record just falls flat for me. and that bums me out because i was REALLY pumped for tre. maybe i need to listen to it a second and a third time, but im underwhelmed on this first listen. i really hope that changes. i really do. THIS. This is kind of how I feel about Tre as I round out my first listen. I'm currently almost done with DRB. All of the songs are pretty good and catchy, but there just aren't a whole lot of songs that I see myself listening to on a regular basis. It's an overall good album, but I feel a bit underwhelmed. I think I hyped it too much.
Comic Sans
How long it is is irrelevant. What he is saying is that the review is kind of shallow and it seems it's based on catchyness rather than quality. Not that a catchy melody is a con, that's a plus. But the review was so no thought out. And he/she is being sarcastic. Harry Potter (the GDC user, but also the wizard ) is a male, man.

I have to agree with this. I don't know what's that, I really want to love this record but I just can't. DRB is amazing, that's the kind of musical variety I've been waiting from them, but again for me it's fillers, fillers everywhere. All these new songs about girls whose name starts with "A" make me sick, I'm all like: oh please not again. It's like this endless she's-a-rebel-extraordinary-last-of-the-american-amy-ashley-amanda-whatever (I know that these songs are different, it's more about theme and feeling in general). I can't listen to drama queen cause I can't stop hearing this dumb period reference in lyrics. And everywhere else lyrics are so weak, I can't even... Oh my. Probably my brain is damaged or I don't know.
Comic Sans
I'll never make it 6 days. How long before I cave? By best guess is about an hour. What a long resistance man
TheGreenDayKidd
Prepare yourself to 8th Avenue Serenade, Drama Queen, X-Kid, Sex, Drugs & Violence, and, mostly of all... DIRTY ROTTEN BASTARDS! Tnx for the advice! I'm so angry that TRE didn't leak yesterday when I was all day at home and waiting for it, but today we can hear it, of course I didn't have time today till now. :angry But still happy to listen to it today! Stan Dellone
So... you didn't like it? Pffff. Way to take me completely out of context... No, no I didn't really like it all that much. Maybe I was too harsh. But DRB seemed just seemed like an infinitely less focused JOS or Homecoming, and therefore kind of pointless. Like a Weird Al polka... It's fun sounding (aside from it's melody lifting), but that's kind of what's annoying about the trilogy as a whole. Fun to listen to, catchy as fuck, but very little that resonates. In the interest of full disclosure, Missing You and X-Kid are pretty good songs. Definitely the best on the album, and near the top of the trilogy. I say again (and I know you've all been hanging on my every word with each disparaging post I've made) that the band would have been much better served by making one good/great album by paring down the material on these three into one. Distillation, boys.
Uno1Dos2Tre3
Had to wait the whole day 'till I could finally listen to it and now that I have I have to say I'm pretty happy with it! Definitely the best of the trilogy. My favourite is probably Brutal Love, it's exactly what I wanted out of the trilogy. X-Kid has 2nd place. lagurney
Surprised by the amount of negative comments!! What is there to be mad about, we've got our 3rd Green Day album in 6 months!! As I've mentioned before, I'd rather 3 good albums with bits of excellence than 1 great album! Only disappointment on this album is Drama Queen for me, live version is better. Other than that sounds good! Enjoyed first listen of X-Kid & 8th Avenue Serenade, but I'm sure I'll have a new favorite in a couple of days! Very happy to have been given so many awesome songs this year and cant wait to hear them live next year!!!!! Get well soon Billie!!!!

Freezing Melons
I think this album, out of the trilogy, is the closest, in terms of continuity, to any of their albums in the 90s. It has a nice arc, nothing huge like the AI or 21CBD , but its a nice listen from start to finish, for sure. For me, this is pretty close to Dos!, I have to let them sink in a bit more. The only track from Uno I still return to is "Sweet 16" for some reason..but ya.

The Pedestrian
I can't listen to drama queen cause I can't stop hearing this dumb period reference in lyrics. 1. What's 'dumb' about periods? 2. It's not necessarily about periods, it could be about growing up into the real world where you can get hurt/bleed (both physically and mentally) 3. If it's about periods, then using the physical image as a metaphor for growing up alongside point 2 only adds more depth to the lyrics. 4. What's really dumb is that you still have a childish "eww periods" attitude and as such cannot appreciate a beautiful song.
