Yeah, I've had a feeling it would be since the beginning of all this trilogy stuff. If it's as good as you all say it is, it might slip into my number 2 spot behind American Idiot (it would have to be off-the-planet-orgasmic-amazingness to beat that).

Damn, 5pm can't come soon enough....

Same. But I will say this. It made me want to jump around the room screaming my head off. Not many albums have made me feel like that.

More listens are required :D

You no like?

My first listen was a bit disappointing (except for a few songs) but still need to listen again, I'm sure it'll grow on me.

Tré is amazing defiantly my favorite of the trilogy, has the consistency of great songs like Uno but also has the stand out tracks like Dos did. In my opinion Green Day saved the best for last here. Of course you might disagree but that's fine everyone's entitled to their opinion. Some of my personal favorites after the first listen are Missing You, Dirty Rotten Bastards, 99 Revolutions, 8th Ave Serenade and X-Kid.

Slightly dissappointed to be honest.....I loved Uno and Dos but I dunno....it just doesn't feel right. Especially Dirty Rotten Bastards; thats gonna take some getting used too.

Thats understandable its defiantly a different sound to say the least I really like it personally but I can understand some fans might need to have it grow on them.

So i'll try a quick review based on the very first listen

Brutal Love: Nice song, i understand the Beatles comparison the mid pace change sounds great, think this one will be better with improved audio quality [ 8/10 ]

Missing You: Really digging this one, love the guitar, awesome track [ 9/10 ]

8th Avenue Serenade: Another great track for me, nice breakdowns [ 9/10 ]

Drama Queen: I'll wait for better quality but not as strong as the other so far in my opinion [ 6/10 ]

X-Kid: Awesome track, definitely single material, it's on the favorite pile of the trilogy [ 9.5 /10 ]

Sex, Drugs & Violence: Cool song i laughed with the English Math and Science thing [ 7.5/10 ]

Little Boy Named Train: Loved this track also, the feel to it, Billie's vocals sounds great in this one i think [ 9/10 ]

Amanda: This one suffers from the same problem as 'Baby Eyes' from !Dos! it's too short and seems unfinished [ 7/10 ]

Walk Away: Lots of people were picking on 'Kill the DJ' saying it was too repetitive, well there you go, all i hear is walk away [ 6/10 ]

Dirty Rotten Bastards: Wow! Where did that come from? Billie and Mike going crazy is pure awesomeness! Probably the best bass line and guitar work they've done. Favorite alert [ 10/10 ]

99 Revolutions: Everyone knows that already, nice riff, well placed in the album, catchy song [ 8/10 ]

The Forgotten: Everybody already heard it too, i like this one, those saying that it's Billie's attempt to be John Lennon are fucking morons, this is a nice piano ballad [ 8/10 ]

So there it is i hope everyone is enjoying as much as i am, best album on the trilogy for me, now i'm waiting to hear it properly with great audio quality.

what can i say... after hear this album like 4 times today.. and after all this trilogy is all out it's safe to say that this whole thing is way better than the last record (21st century)

- we have any kinds of Green Day sound on it, the only thing that imo should be different are the guitar sounds that make even the most "punk" songs sound not that heavy as they could be.

- anyway i loved like 25 songs and there's another 7 or 8 that i really appreciate listening.. and just a few that i really think that didn't need to make the record (see you tonight, nightlife and the forgotten)

- so this is epic as hell!!!!

ps: I still wish they release some B-Sides :)

just another Ps... after some people say thar DRB sounds like a christmas song.. i kinda start listening in into the song :P but is still an wonderful song

It's weird seeing everyones opinions. The album's not universally hated, nor is it universally loved. It's not even universally mediocre.

It's like the most universally un-universal album of the trilogy.

Eh, what.

Tré is so much rougher and rawer than American Idiot. The bass is turned up to 11, the drums are insane, and Billie Joe is shredding solos everywhere.

Did you listen to the same album as me?

hes talking about the fucking guitar sound im complaining about since uno.

Jesus Christ man, they're a big band now, they can actually afford decent production. Be glad of it. 1,039 and Kerplunk sounded raw because they were recorded on a budget of about $5.

Making a record intentionally sound crap is just stupid. Look at the last Foo Fighter's album. That was recorded in Dave Grohl's garage on old traditional tape recorders. It still sounds clean as fuck.

I honestly think this trilogy is the best thing to happen to music in the past 2-3 years!

I mean, what other band has come out with 30+ songs in the span of less than 3 months?!

And the more I listen to each of the albums, the more I like all the songs. Initially I hated Troublemaker and Makeout Party, now I love both of them! And some of the songs like Ashley, Loss of Control, Lady Cobra, etc. that some consider filler, I wouldn't dream of skipping over them :D

I'm very impressed with the quality of material contained over these three discs and I think I'm going to be listening to them constantly for the forseeable future :bunny:

THIS!

It should be noted too that not only did they provide quantity, but they provided QUALITY. 37 brand new tracks in such a short time period is almost unheard of.

Best album since American Idiot, hands down. Whatever they do next, it'll be tough to top this.

You're serious, right? :o Hooooly shit. This makes me so excited. Waiting till friday will be tough.

Completely. Fucking love it. Uno and Dos have nothing on this.

So far I've listened to X-kid, Brutal Love, and Dirty Rotten Bastards in full (have also heard 8th ave and the Forgotten previously) and woooooooow...where...huh...what has happened? I think my mind melted in a nuclear explosion (heh heh, gonna DETONATE). X-kid takes my Number 1 Green Day song ever spot. The melody, the lyrics, every drum hit, bass pluck, and guitar scratch...perfect... I can't wait til the stream to hear the rest of this amazing album.
