¡TRÉ!

it's my favourite, actually.

I don't know. The melody has nothing special about it, but I dig it and Billie's voice is absolutely beautiful. The only thing that's bothering me is the she's old enough to bleed now, though I know it's a metaphor :P .

And yes, I also prefer it over Brutal Love.

It reminds me of periods lol

I was kind of disappointed with 99 Revolutions to be honest. I've heard it live and thought it was great but the studio version got kind of boring. The drums, instrumentals are all great but I think "99 Revolutions tonight" was way too repetitive at the end.

My favourite from this album would be Brutal Love followed by X-Kid. It's just so amazing how Brutal Love is so slow and then slowly builds up until it explodes. This song is a big "Fuck You" to the people who think that this is a trilogy of b-sides. That moment when he sings "Troubled.. MIIIIIII-IIII-IIIII-IIIND" is when all the energy and emotion is released. And then I took a look at Tre's face on the album and realized what I was listening to. Probably one of the best songs Green Day has ever made.

X-Kid comes an very close second, it is a little bit less "epic" compared to Brutal Love. I know it is about a friend of Billie's who has committed suicide but I interpret it as kind of nostalgic song, kind of like someone coming to their end of time. Kind of like the second part of Rusty James from Uno saying your the last one around but then realized that you're eventually gonna be gone too. I think it's obvious to say Green Day is coming closer and closer to their end. I'm not saying this is the end of Green Day, we can probably expect a few more albums from them, but I really don't know if they are going to continue to make albums in their 50s. They might just stick to touring instead. Then again, I could be wrong.

There weren't that many "meh" tracks on the album. My least favourite would probably be 8th Avenue Serenade. I find that instrumental used throughout the entire song a bit annoying. It suddenly stops and then my ears have to process what happens and then suddenly it starts again, it's kind of weird. Even though it's my least favourite, I'd still give it a 4 out of 5 at lowest. I still love the dreamy verses and choruses, the vocals were absolutely amazing. The backing vocals were great too. I have to say iTre! is my favourite out of the three and I'd give the album a 9.5 out of 10 overall. I'm glad they swapped Stray Heart to dos. Stray Heart works a billion times better on iDos! than iTre! If it was on iTre!, then I think iTre! would completely outweigh the other two albums because Stray Heart is imo the best song from iDos!. It's more upbeat compared to Drama Queen which would fit in iDos! more than iTre!

Overall, iTre! was the best album from the trilogy for me. I'm really surprised at the scores it got, 5/10? Really? Disgusting. This entire trilogy overall was a huge success and I'm pretty sure I can pick out atleast 20 good songs from it. Much better than them having to do one album with 13 songs.

I agree with you about a little repetitiveness of the chorus, but it's still very catchy one, and has some revolutionary vibe... Also, after listening to the live version, I found the original a little bit slow.

There's been a lot of discussion about this line. Most people see it as a metaphor for the girl coming of age and starting to take responsibility for her actions. Others see it as she's matured enough to take notice of all the criticism she receives, and it's getting to her or makin her "bleed" :)

....aaaaand it´s about period. Period. :D

I agree that DRB sounds like it could be a Christmas song! Does anyone else feel like it should be a Robin Hood theme tune or part of some other medieval movie, though? :P That's what I've thought since I first heard it. I get images of guys dancing round in medieval clothes with swords.

Me too! Speciall the first part, that of 'calling all the demons, this is the season...'

I just realized that Billie yells "Tre!" in Missing You right before the drum solos.

that's debatable.

sounds more like a "hey" or "say"

Well yeah, I'm probably wrong. But I just like the idea of Billie Joe yelling Tre! and then Tre tears it up.

Maybe when playing it live. That would be cool. But it doesn't sound like "Trè" in the studio version.

8th avenue serenade cover :)
I love your cover! Great voice. Only thing was I didn't hear the guitar that well. Drums were a little too loud.

¡Tre! is the best one in my opinion :) I think Green Day has a lot of very different songs on this album compared to their other music. Songs 8th Avenue Serenade, X-Kid, and Brutal Love are way different than anything they've done before, and I think they do it successfully. And a song like Amanda is very much the Green Day sound we've come to love, and they accomplish that very well on this album, too. It's nice to see them branching out a bit with their sound.

I always assumed it was "HEY", never listened that closely. "TRÉ" would be much cooler though :P

Wow. I don't even know the song/album good enough to know that he says hey/say/tre at one point. I'm a bad fan.

I can't get X-Kid out of my head! I can't help but replay it again and again. :D Such a fantastic song.

Actually I always assumed everyone heared "Tre" in Missing You! I heared it the first time and thought I was mad then replayed it a few times going wtf then thought "hey cool thats like his hey oh in Stay The Night"... Im fairly sure it's "Tre" before the drum solo especially because in Quatro when you see Mike & Billie discussing how it would sound great if Tre went nuts behind the drums and the way the whole trilogy was recorded so raw. Plus it just sounds like it and it's cooler...Tre cooler lol.

3 Albums are kinda too much and I'm serious on that one. But I DO appreciate them, don't get me wrong.
