CrimsonArk
Okay dude, fist you say that everyone has their opinion. Now you tell me that mine is invalid. All people who have been following green day feel that it was better than the two.Lemme tell you something, Green Day don't make albums according to what you think about it.Making 37 songs, releasing them in a span of 3 months and taking the BULLSHIT(wow I used it again problem?) that people like you are giving definately requires Balls my friend.Lyrically, all songs don't need to be a hey jude or a poem by john keats or something. They are only intented to solve the purpose of a song. All songs from tre do that. Also, Billie had something in his mind when he said that tre would be epic I was'nt even discussing anything with you, but okay, everyone has an opinion.I was only talking about how some reviews were unacceptable.I never said that negative revews suck, but there is a decent way of giving one, where you have to exactly explain WHY you dont like it.Just saying that "This album sucks, worst green day stuff, it's gay etc" is not even counted as a review. It's you, who is acting like a angry little kid here, saying shit which has no implications.I bet you don't even have an idea as to what the fuck Im exactly talking about. I'm sorry but you sound like, punn not intended, a Dirty Rotten Bastard Peace Ok, first off I never invalidated your opinion, I said I couldn't take it seriously because of the way you were expressing it, you just sounded extremelly ignorant and you still do. And what profressional reviewer has called iTre! gay? And why are some of these reviews unacceptable? It's their opinions, you want to get all defensive and say I'm invalidating your opinion, when you're doing the same thing when it comes to these reviewers. Lol you hypcrite. P.S. you're extremelly childish: "(wow I used it again problem?)" and not funny or clever: "I'm sorry but you sound like, pun not intended, a Dirty Rotten Bastard:)". That doesn't even work like when I used it, because you clearly used it as a pun. Wow...just wow.
Platypus2000
The album could've done without "Walk Away", such a pointless song...:/ People say that LBNT and SD&V are weak. Walk Away is even weaker. At least LBNT and SD&V have momentum, Walk Away doesn't build into anything. In my opinio, it's the only filler on the album.. Cob
I listened to iDos! again today and I agree, I like it a lot. At first I thought it was the weakest one, but it has some really great songs on it. I just didn't play it as much because I don't like Fuck Time at all and that's basically that album's opener. So whenever I started iDos! and Fuck Time played, I was like ah fuck it let's listen to something else. And after listening to it again I realized how dark that album actually is. Apart from fun songs like Fuck Time, Makeout Party, Stray Heart etc., there are such dark songs like Lazy Bones, Amy, and Baby Eyes. Seriously, I only realized now how dark the riff for Baby Eyes is. o_O And Nightlife is also really dark when you ignore the rapping and focus on the instrumentals and Billie's parts. I think it really shows how partys can be fun but dangerous and dark at the same time... I'm speaking out of my experiences, whenever I go to party I have a lot of fun and it's all colorful and happy, but then I go outside for some fresh air and I realize how dark and melancholy it is... It's really crazy if you think about it: All of these teens gather up at one place to dance and drink so they can forget about their miserable lives, then you go outside and see harsh reality kicking in, walking around in the darkness through random people, the view is obscured by all the people smoking, some people are already so drunk that they fight, some take some harder drugs... all while people are partying with colorful lights inside. Damn, I just realized how good iDos! is with representing partys. Maybe not how Green Day intended it, but I really like the "dark fun" aspect it shows. Edit: Aaaand I just realized that this is the iTré! thread. Dammit, Danny! Great post. But take a look at Stray Heart again...It sounds bubblegum but it's about infidelity. In my opinion, after looking at the figurative meanings of most of the songs, the only "fun" songs are Fuck Time and Makeout Party. Everything else has some underlying darkness, which makes it really great in my opinion. And yes, I think Nightlife is a good song. The album could've done without "Walk Away", such a pointless song...:/ People say that LBNT and SD&V are weak. Walk Away is even weaker. At least LBNT and SD&V have momentum, Walk Away doesn't build into anything. In my opinio, it's the only filler on the album.. I have to disagree with you. It builds up really well, and Billie Joe's lyrics are so personal and inspirational. You can hear the emotion in his voice as he sings "Walk Away", I think it's one of the most powerful songs on a record filled with powerful songs. greendepent
I have to say that my totally favorite from this album, and the trilogy is Little Boy Named Train. I feel the Dookie vibes here. And the lyrics are great, those ones that I like from Armstrong.
FatVince
For me, ¡Tré! is the best album from the trilogy. When the band described the albums, i thought it would be my least but no. There are so many songs that I love in this record: Missing You, Brutal Love, Dirty Rotten Bastards, Sex Drugs & Violence and 99 Revolutions. The only one I don't like is Walk Away. This song is maybe my least favourite from the trilogy.
Annie, get your gun
ok i'll assume that you comments are for me.. cuz the term "too slow" was used by me... i've never said that is a bad song and people shouldn't enjoy it.. but IMO it's too slow like the forgotten t's not the kind of GD songs that I LIKE.. i never said "please people stop listening to it".. and i think it is a pretty good argument cuz it's based o my interpretation on how i like GD songs.. the rest of the cd has the old school vibe that i like to see on a gd song.. don't take it personal i just think that there are smething missing in this particular song.. and i have no time to write a paper to describe and discover the reasons why this song is the weakest song on the album for me.. but i do think that for people who had grown up listening to punk rock green day it's kinda boring to see an opening track slow that way... again I dont think it's a bad song..it's just a personal oppinion and as i said in my other post I was quite sure that i'd be alone on this statement Oh, not at all! You weren't the only one said it's too slow... I've seen a few mentioning the same. It's all cool anyway; I'm not so in love with some songs like others seem to be either I think it needs to grow on me And please, do you have the pic for your avatar? I love it! AGREED.I think putting stray heart instead of it would have helped. And then the 6-7 best songs from Uno and Dos, if included, would have made a perfect trilogy!!! I thought it was weak at the first few listens, too, but the song grew on me, because it has so much truth. And it is very personal, too. I think Billie is reflecting his own band's success with all the (negative) consequences and the pressure that always come along with success ("the bigger that you come, the harder you're gonna fall"). I like that honesty...

solongfromthestars
There's no way of truly saying that a song is weak or not because in the end, it's just opinion. There'll always be someone who thinks one way and someone who thinks the other way. I agree with you. In the end, it's just opinion. But we can discuss about our opinions. If it weren't the case, there would not be debates. Plus, when I say "It's weak", it's not a ojective thought. I mean "I think this song is weak". I think many of the GDC users act like this. Personnaly, I can't stand people who think their opinions are facts.

I really don't know :/ It is very melodic and it's a song that I'm glad is there, I just feel like it's very misplaced in the trilogy, especially on Tre too. Going from "Walk Away" to "DRB" just doesn't fit, maybe my opinion will change on it in time but it didn't click with me on first listen. I think if it had been placed between 99 revs and The forgotten then I would've felt differently about it, I don't mind it, it's a listenable song but whenever I listen to it, I can't help feeling the "Hurry up and get it over with" feeling because I know 99 Revs is coming next xD

xjernpqvrnbfv
Walk Away is one of my favourites, along with Missing You and 8th Ave Serenade. Tre is a great album. I feel like it really represents their californian lifestyle, especially with the footage from Quatro. Tre is awesome
Annie, get your gun
I don't see why some people think Walk Away is weak. It has meaningful lyrics and to me that makes it one of the best from the trilogy. It also fits perfectly with the "reflection" theme. When it's time to walk away, walk away... Platypus2000
Walk Away is definitely the most split song on the album. It's all well and good having meaningful lyrics but that doesn't automatically make it a good song
