¡TRÉ!

Liam

Recommended Posts

Completely OFF TOPIC: how do you guys make those trilogy inspired cover pics, I mean with your face on uno dos or tre artwork? I really want that :D

You must have ¡Uno! background, the Green Day logo and a pic of yourself. You crop your face with Photoshop and put the pics together ;)

Well, I know you don't have to be agree with me; but there's no such "hype" about Brutal Love. I loved it from the first time I heard it and I think if some people don't like because is too slow, that's not enough reason. What I appreciate the most is the melody of Billie Joe's voice. I heard him like in any other song from the albums and I dare to say it's one of the strongest songs from the trilogy.

ok i'll assume that you comments are for me.. cuz the term "too slow" was used by me...

i've never said that is a bad song and people shouldn't enjoy it.. but IMO it's too slow like the forgotten t's not the kind of GD songs that I LIKE.. i never said "please people stop listening to it".. and i think it is a pretty good argument cuz it's based o my interpretation on how i like GD songs.. the rest of the cd has the old school vibe that i like to see on a gd song..

don't take it personal i just think that there are smething missing in this particular song.. and i have no time to write a paper to describe and discover the reasons why this song is the weakest song on the album for me.. but i do think that for people who had grown up listening to punk rock green day it's kinda boring to see an opening track slow that way...

again I dont think it's a bad song..it's just a personal oppinion and as i said in my other post I was quite sure that i'd be alone on this statement

What does the "Probably would but Hollywood is dead and gone" in X-kid mean?

I love the song but the part about Hollywood...I just can't see the sense in that line. Is it just used because of the similarity in the pronouciation of "probably would" with "Hollywood"?

It's about how we grow up while the world changes and our feelings for that. So he feels that Hollywood is not what it was when he was a "kid" I guess.

If you kinda connect it to the line 'and you're numb to your own glory but now it's gone' it might reiterate that he's no longer praised for his past actions, referring to his old glory as 'Hollywood'. These lines in X-Kid kinda remind me of how Green Day are seen now.

Missing You has grown on me so much. I LOVE the drumming in that song, especially the mini solo near the end. I think the drumming as a whole is very good on this album, Tre has really stepped up his game when it comes to fills.

Wow, chill. Those caps are making my eyes bleed. This isn't some personal thing y'know... I'm not insinuating anything about your life, I don't know who you are. What I'm saying is, you don't have to bring other artists into an an argument that doesn't call for them. The success of other artists is irrelevant.

haha Im sorry. No intention to hurt anyone's feelings. :)

Btw you are beautiful :)

Thanks man. Will try that today :)

X Kid is annoying cos it's one GD song that really feels like it is narrating my life right now. I know everyone can say that about any song, but I'm not grasping at straws, the first time I heard it I was struck by it's relevance.

I hope it's a single.

I don't think so because on the Cover is written: features "X-Kid" "8th Avenue Serenade" and "99 Revolutions"

All albums have 3 song's name written on it which are sureshot singles. But usually, an album has 5 singles. So let's hope it's released.

Singles are far less important these days, and with so much new music coming out together I doubt Tre will have 5 singles. By the way your ava is kinda freaky.

Sadly, my girlfriend likes Justin Beiber so to save my relationship, I was FORCED to listen to his album, while sitting together with her. It's not like it was bad or UNBEARABLE and stuff. But when you compare that to stuff Green Day does, it's BULLSHIT.When I use the word Bullshit anywhere, I use it to compare an artist's work to Green Day.I definately won't call LP's work bullshit, or ACDC, or even Eminem's for that matter. That work is COMPARABLE.You see all these artists Im talking about being Comparable to Green Day come under the GOOD category of musicians

Getting back to the point, okay Believe maybe a good album for some. But when you compare it to Green Day's work, its SHIT(I changed from Bullshit to shit because people think using this word is offensive). The fact that just because it's sales are good, JB has a better fan base and stuff does not mean that his work is good enough.Even when Babel debuted at #1 on billboard instead of Uno, I did not say shit about it.I am not that kind of a person who says shit for balls.I heard that album and honestly, it was better than Uno and deserved whatever critical and commercial acclaim it was getting.

I NEVER IN MY LIFE SAID UNO WAS BADLY RECIEVED FROM CRITICS, OR DOS OR EVEN TRE.I SAID THAT SOME OF THE REVIEWS HURT ME.I NEVER SAID ALL WERE BAD.GODDAMN READ WHAT I WROTE BEFORE YOU SAY SHIT.

And coming to Tre, musically and Lyrically, Tre did it's job better than Uno or Dos.That's why I called it a better album.Apart from 2 piano ballads and three songs rolled into one, there is a lot more to that album. The three songs rolled into one is a song that most of the people here at GDC like. The piano ballad was added into a Movie's soundtrack, and featured in a CSI episode.Without it being released as a single, its charting in a few countries. And tell me one song from tre that you think is not good.I can prove it yto you it is not so.I can't say the same thing for Uno and Dos because yes, there are elements in that album which are not good. But tre is surely a masterpiece. If it is not doing well commercially you have no right to call it a bad album!!!

Dude, you have some problems. I can't take you seriously when you're using words like "shit" and typing in all caps, it's like reading an ignorant/childish YouTube comment. If you don't like an artist, then say it like a normal human being "I'm just personally not partial to his music, but if people feel that way, if they felt one of JB's albums were better than iUno!, iDos!, or iTre!, then that's their personally opinion and I respect that, but I respectfully disagree." You just make yourself sound like a generic ADD commentor. And the fact you're saying iTre! is a masterpiece as if it were fact and everyone should know it REALLY makes me not able to take you seriously. Lyrically, the album is average to decent, musically, despite a few tracks, most of the album sounds like standard Green Day, there's NOTHING special about that. Any other pop punk band could do that. That's not masterpiece worthy. You sound like, pun not intended, a drama queen. Also, how are you gonna tell me MY opinion is wrong? If I dislike a song, then you need to respect that, not try and convince me "Oh you're wrong, this song is actually really good because....".

Just a little thing, but using swear words to emphasise a point isn't childish, when done correctly. I swear a lot, it's just the way I articulate myself.

You are right about most of what you're saying though :P

I just meant calling an artist shit as if it's fact.

There are people who don't feel that way, and it's disrespectful towards those people's opinions.

I don't see how ¡Dos! gets so much hate lately. I love it a lot. There isn't any song I'd call bad, I just don't really dig Baby Eyes and Ashley but many people like them so they must be good.

I listened to iDos! again today and I agree, I like it a lot. At first I thought it was the weakest one, but it has some really great songs on it. I just didn't play it as much because I don't like Fuck Time at all and that's basically that album's opener. So whenever I started iDos! and Fuck Time played, I was like ah fuck it let's listen to something else.

And after listening to it again I realized how dark that album actually is. Apart from fun songs like Fuck Time, Makeout Party, Stray Heart etc., there are such dark songs like Lazy Bones, Amy, and Baby Eyes. Seriously, I only realized now how dark the riff for Baby Eyes is. o_O And Nightlife is also really dark when you ignore the rapping and focus on the instrumentals and Billie's parts. I think it really shows how partys can be fun but dangerous and dark at the same time... I'm speaking out of my experiences, whenever I go to party I have a lot of fun and it's all colorful and happy, but then I go outside for some fresh air and I realize how dark and melancholy it is... It's really crazy if you think about it: All of these teens gather up at one place to dance and drink so they can forget about their miserable lives, then you go outside and see harsh reality kicking in, walking around in the darkness through random people, the view is obscured by all the people smoking, some people are already so drunk that they fight, some take some harder drugs... all while people are partying with colorful lights inside.

Damn, I just realized how good iDos! is with representing partys. Maybe not how Green Day intended it, but I really like the "dark fun" aspect it shows.

Edit: Aaaand I just realized that this is the iTré! thread. Dammit, Danny!

Okay dude, fist you say that everyone has their opinion. Now you tell me that mine is invalid. All people who have been following green day feel that it was better than the two.Lemme tell you something, Green Day don't make albums according to what you think about it.Making 37 songs, releasing them in a span of 3 months and taking the BULLSHIT(wow I used it again :D problem?) that people like you are giving definately requires Balls my friend.Lyrically, all songs don't need to be a hey jude or a poem by john keats or something. They are only intented to solve the purpose of a song. All songs from tre do that. Also, Billie had something in his mind when he said that tre would be epic

I was'nt even discussing anything with you, but okay, everyone has an opinion.I was only talking about how some reviews were unacceptable.I never said that negative revews suck, but there is a decent way of giving one, where you have to exactly explain WHY you dont like it.Just saying that "This album sucks, worst green day stuff, it's gay etc" is not even counted as a review. It's you, who is acting like a angry little kid here, saying shit which has no implications.I bet you don't even have an idea as to what the fuck Im exactly talking about.

I'm sorry but you sound like, punn not intended, a Dirty Rotten Bastard :)

Peace :)
