Went to target and they were sold out of tre. Prettyy dang awesome if you ask me.

Same thing happened at my local Target on the opening day for Dos. I wish I could meet these eager GD fans that live in my area.

Brutal Love is, no offense, a complete ripp-off of probably every jazz/soul track in the sixties

American Idiot is, no offense, a complete ripp-off of probably every track with a guitar in the history of music

SAME HERE. For some reason it seems like people look down on me for listening to Green Day and it pisses me off. Sorry I'm listening to songs with an actual meaning and are musically fucking PERFECT songs compared to songs about fucking bitches and getting money.

End rant

Anyways, I was surprised! I didn't know people around here listened to green day.

Hey man, I've been there. It sucks but whatever, in the end we're the ones who win because we are privileged with the ability to enjoy this awesome music.

This is the worst. But then again, and no offense to anyone here, some GD fans annoy me. Not you guys though, you guys are cool. :toocool:

Best album off the trilogy, Brutal Love, Missing You, X-Kid, Dirty Rotten Bastardsare my faves, really hoping that the guys promote the fuck out of it when Billie is back, i got a feeling only Green Day fans are experiencing these albums atm, not that it matters really about mainstream success but hey ho!

I cannot wait until the guys play the songs off the trilogy albums, I really do miss watching new videos of them performing and to see them live myself but lets hope for loads of that in 2013! :D

I already contributed with my little 2 cents by buying the album on release date so it counts for debut sales :D Plus I don't regret it, it's such an amazing album! Billie was definitely true by saying this one was epic.

Now they should definitely play the trilogy in full, maybe in three nights :D

Omg playing the trilogy in full would be amazing! The Cure did that once with their three "dark albums" and it was awesome! Green Day should totally do that.

It feels like no one knows that Tre! exists :/ In a way, kind of glad, in another, I'm kinda sad :(

i seem to be the only one who skips x-kid every time. it's a good song, but i don't know.. it just doesn't grow on me.

sex drugs & violence on the other hand. most underrated song on the album

Listen to: Sam Cooke, Bring it Home To Me. It's supposed to be a rip-off because it's kind of a tribute to this guy.

I find it hard to believe that a song is underrated when the album has been out for a week.

And X-kid is different. I am sure there are others that skip it as well. I like it a lot though, one of the best in my opinion.

Walk Away is powerful. I wonder what would happen if I played it on replay in my sons' rooms while they are asleep. Maybe they would get the message and stop trying to beat the crap out of each other.

I'm not seeing where the album booklet credits Sam Cooke for anything...anyone care to point it out to me?

Unfold the lyrics poster all the way. Under where it credits the band members and names their instruments, there is small white mouse print. It says it right there. If you get your dick stuck in a fan, you're doing it wrong.

That's true. But he has the talent to make it sound different, but even better.

Like 21 Guns, IMO, it is much better live.

Also, I'd like to say since everyone is talking about Brutal Love, that I also love the part that says "daaaance foreeever" omg that voice

I'm approaching 30 times played for each song on my iTunes as I type, and I must say it's a bit of a mixed bag for me. Dirty Rotten Bastards is the orgasm of the trilogy. I can picture perfectly how amazing this song will be live. The sing-a-long portions along with the solos would make a highlight of any Green Day set. This song along with X-Kid, which I find to be an ultimate anthem because it's not trying too hard to be one, should make great live performances for years to come. I love the laid back California vibe this song provides which has lead me to start a "coast" playlist on iTunes the next time I make it to the beach. I think these two songs top everything on Dos, Uno, and 21st Century Breakdown--the one possible exception being 21 Guns.

Brutal Love is why I love Green Day. I already said something similar earlier, but I'm not sure if there's another mainstream band right now with the balls to experiment as much as they have with this project. This is an example of taking a risk and excelling into new territory. Billie's vocals have improved over the years and I hope they do this one live, just for his vocals alone.

I think 99 Revolutions and The Forgotten also strengthen and diversify this project while being great additions to the band's growing catalog.

Having said all this, I could take or leave all the rest of the songs on Tre depending on the day. I think they're nice, other bands would probably kill for some of these songs, but when you can compose stuff like Jesus of Suburbia and Basket Case I'm always going to expect something greater. Overall, the lyrics were better on this album save for a few exceptions. The "English, Math and Science" line sounds like it should be a part of some after school special, even in its full context. Drama Queen verges into creepy territory with the "bleed" line being repeated even if it's not the intent. If The Forgotten wasn't so well produced with a timeless melody, I would say something about those lyrics but the record overall overcomes any lyrical issues.

If Brutal Love, X-Kid and Dirty Rotten Bastards would only have existed with the release of Tre, then the final installment of the trilogy more than serves this purpose.

I guess I'm doing it wrong then, haha. I only have the book version of TRE and he's not credited anywhere on it.
