What's actually in the CD books?

Just the lyrics for all the songs as well as song titles and some artwork and photo's of the band :)

This is actually really interesting and makes me think of the fact that we only use 10% of our brains, it's strange to think of what we could actually be capable of doing.

That "fact" is about as right as Hitler.

Green Day seriously need to change up the guitar sounds, I'm so burnt out on the current one, it's all started melding together now.

Really? Seriously? The melodies don't sound the same? They just have a similar number of syllables? Wow. Just wow. Denial, denial, DENIAL.

Syllables play into melodies...

You think they've started reusing melodies and stuff a lot now? Oh man, just wait til their next album, at this rate not one song off of that future album will sound original in the context of Green Day's song library. They need to go into some extreme stylistic shift on their next album, otherwise their songs will contine to lose more and more punch and fade into obscurity.

Yeah the biggest problem for me is I don't feel any sense of maturity with the trilogy, in fact, I feel a regression. With every other release, even from Dookie to Insomniac and American Idiot to 21st Century Breakdown, I could sense some kind of growth, some kind of stylistic shift, even if it was slight. A song like Boulevard of Broken Dreams which a lot of people on here don't seem to like really felt like an interesting change up to me. The heavy tremolo played behind the acoustic guitars with a small riff here or there felt like something Green Day would never do. They surprised me with that. Granted, songs like Kill the DJ, Nightlife, and even Lazy Bones are stylistically different, but maybe it's just that they're buried in so much filler. Also, I can't stand the lyrics to Nightlife. I think it could've been a really great song, even with Lady Cobra, but the lyrics bug the hell out of me. I was hoping for more of a Magnificent Seven or Overpowered by Funk vibe. Even just plain stream of consciousness would have satisfied me. But I agree, they're going to need to make a real switch up if they want to keep me interested. Might be time to start listening to some OK Computer, Sandinista, Doolittle, Suburbs, etc...

What similarity is there between a Green Day fan who accepts anything they put out and a pop fanatic who only listens to whatever is the biggest hit at the time? Both have deep throats.

If I uploaded the whole thing on youtube, will it be taken down because of copyright?

Yes.

And if Quatro doesn't have any songs, wtf goes on 40 pages?

If I uploaded the whole thing on youtube, will it be taken down because of copyright?

Don't make it public. make it link access only

Yeah it could. But you could sneaky post the link to it in here so a few of us can see it before it gets taken down... Just a suggestion.

I was thinking it would because of the licensed music. I have been uploading clips without music in them and they are fine. Ill try later :)

Cant stand Sandinista so boring it kills. I see your point but the truth is that the band are doing what they want right now, they are not following some kind of path where they have to carefully select each note or plan their songs thoroughly beacause they have adopted a new style. I mean what do you expect? do you expect a change like radiohead did with "Kid A" (overrated), and radiohead did this because they were sick and especially the singer of "playing" guitar. This band is, believe it or not, not here to fulfill your musical needs, if they want to do 4 rock operas in a row they will do it no whater what, because its what they like. You might love or dislike what they are doing but dont expect a radical stylistic change every single album they release. I understand that sometimes you want to hear something different, but you cant really be annoyed at the band when i imagine you already knew that UNO was going to be like "classic" Green Day and DOS a bit "foxoboro hot tubs" I mean...cmon.

Kid A is not overrated. It's probably had a bigger impact on music nowadays than American Idiot. It may seem weird and random to people who only passivley listen to music, or think that music can only be created with "instruments", but there's a lot more to it then most people think. Song structures, subtley. Listen to songs like How To Disappear Completely, the strings, the electronics. Or Motion Picture Soundtrack. You can feel something stirring inside you when you listen to those tracks. If you're unable to extract emotion from music, than Kid A will seem like random boops and beeps to you.

How To Disappear Completely

Motion Picture Soundtrack

Also, Green Day have never even done a radical stylistic change. They always stick with their bread and butter one way or another.

Kid A is my least favorite album of them.Really overrated album and owes its success to other factors...Of course this certainly has to do with my musical taste.Anyway Radiohead is a great band. There is no doubt. :)

That moment with Mike and his son like "My friends are saying 'Where's Mike?' we need a bass player!" and Brixton going "And do they need me?" was so friggin cute it makes me pray for a Deep Talks with Mike & Brixton reality show :P

Im not dissing electronic music at all! and when have I compared Kid A to American Idiot or the impact they had in music???, as far as I know the only thing that really impressed people about Kid A was that it was made by the same band that was doing regular and very good rock music before, but dont get me wrong i like Kid A i just dont see why there is some much hype about it!

I know Green Day hasnt changed their style radically over time! that was the point I was trying to make hahaha thats why im kind of suprised when people say they expected someting different from some of these albums when the band also mentioned before what they were going to sound like.
