Ryder556
Jesus...wtf is up with the size of the HD version of Quatro??! Took me four hours to get...well in fairness it was because the first time it somehow vanished when it reached 97% (bastard!) so i had to find another link...sooo much better than watching the dodge youtube versions though (curse you MTV Europe for not having this thus driving us all to this insanity!) I have to say though...Quatro is wonderful...i love it so bloody much. It is edited so wonderfully and captures the essence of what it is to be Green Day - live shows, hanging out and recording...it is just a cool yet reflective piece and it's really really great! Wondering though given the length how much more will be on the DVD version we get in Jan? Im wondering will it be longer versions of the live performances? Will there be any more recording or "hanging out" footage? hmmm... The one I downloaded was 401MB and took me around 10 minutes through the power of torrents. As for it's actual length. I'd say maybe 75-80 minutes. That's almost another 40 on top of what we got. They started doing the documentary back when they started working on the albums, and have gone as recent as August 2012. That's over a year of video footage to put together and edit. So I think we can rest assured that it'll be long enough to satisfy. And yes. That is indeed what she said. A friend at mine at Warner who saw a workprint (meaning rough draft/not finalized) of it said it was slightly over 2 hours but he saw it in August so it could be 2 hours im betting 80-110 mins

Hope you are right...i have purchased live dvds and documentarys by various bands in the past prior to a shortened version of them being aired on tv and was dissapointed to discover there wasn't a huge difference in length. If they show full length versions of the songs then im a happy bunny really...i think this will be great promotion for Tre (it being shown on TV i mean). I do think they should air it worldwide however.

As simple as that. Not to sound like a pompous ass but that's literally the entire basis of the internet. Lots of artists use old songs to incorporate into new songs, it's nothing new. And, like someone said, you're making it sound like every single song Green Day ever made was a rip off of another song, which obviously isn't true. I wouldn't call it a "rip off" so much as I would think they were probably inspired by the song and decided to morph it into a Green Day song. I know they have been accused of ripping off songs before and never paid attention that much. It's just that A LOT of songs from the trilogy sounds exactly like older Green Day or other artists songs. Maybe it's just me too but I think it was inevitable, like movies, everything has already been written.

As simple as that. Yeeeaah...thing is...there is a bit of a distance between himself and yourself so it really is easier for him to just swear at you over the net plus really it's fairly common on here everyone just rolls with it...it really is no big insult...a lot of us are just really really REALLY sick of hearing that Green Day ripped anything anywhere...even if one of em rips their pants...we don't wanna hear about it. And anyway it's all opinion...but really you need to chill because online, especially here, people chuck about swears etc and it really isn't meant to be taken to heart. myinsanescenario
So maybe I'm one of the only ones here who LIKES that some of their songs sound the same. I love their music, so it only goes to figure I STILL love if they use a riff again...I also love all the influences you can hear so blatantly on their songs...oh, there's the Clash, there's the Sex Pistols...hey, that sounds like the Monkees !? (Which totally makes sense after Jason's interview in IC) For me, it makes the music continuous, it weaves a pattern that they reinterpret and reinvent, and even though it is similar, it is so fresh because all of the experiences since the last playing of that tune changes and matures it. It helps things make sense and gives it a natural flow. And this quote :""- let your audience grow with you, and grow up with you, and-and at some point, grow old with you." just melted every part of me. I hope I can go see the boys play at some cheesy little bar in 30 years and they will still be awesome. I feel exactly the same way. If Green Day kept creating a new style they wouldn't be Green Day. Like I said before there is only so much you can do musically while still maintaining your bands identity. Also I believe the guys have made a point to say, "ok here are our influences and heres how they plays into our songs" Music wouldn't have evolved otherwise. "New Music" is just old music being recycled and revamped. But mainly I'm just tired of hearing everyone say they miss the "Old Green Day" seriously, get a new cliche and go back to whenever the hell it was that you liked them. Again I'll end with a quote, this time from Mike: "I just thought if you say Christie Road one more time I will smack you in the fucking face with my bass, I mean go back to 92' for a minute!" gerardsangel4977
Hey everybody go check out Vete Al Diablo SOBs's channel on Youtube. I mean he got only 2 previews for Dirty Rotten Bastards and Little Boy Named Train but whatever a really crappy Little Boy Named Train live Ummm. Total understatement, I'm almost positive this was recorded with a rock. oh, I have this on my comp! It's from the Tiki Bar. One of the users here recorded it from outside the venue on their cellphone. That's why it's so muffled. But seriously, as thin on the ground as audio from that show was, you shouldn't complain Sodapop Curtis says "Last Gang" in parentheses, so it just got renamed again to "Rusty James". Makes sense. Since both are S. E. Hinton references. Sounds like Dropkick Murphys, like everyone should have a pint of green beer in their hands as they sing along. This reminded me of Billie story from Irving Plaza about how the band had played there on St. Patrick's Day their first time in NYC I'm hearing "You're an X-Kid and you never even got started again" That's what I hear as well Some more lyrics I saw for Missing you taking Heather's advice of going frame by frame on an HD version I found online(google is you're friend folks) State of Shock I'm going into a state of shock I can twist(NO) I can hardly walk My eyes are rolling in the Back of my head I'm black and blue And I'm in the red silence My tears are putting out my cigarette And sing the alphabet The way I remember Make plans for amnesia Going under anesthesia(Billie spelled it anastesia) Holding on for life There is a siren solo. Whatever that means Enjoy. That took too long. interesting that part of State of Shock seemed to find it's way into "Angel Blue". I hope the full version has a bit about why they invited Lady Cobra on for Nightlife/named a track after her. Not because I like her involvement on Nightlife but for a band who has been around for 20 years with absolutely no guest spots on any of their records it always struck me as a bit odd to start now. No guest spots? Really? What about Petra Haden? Or Gabriel Macnair and Stephen Bradley? Or Kathleen Hanna?? Not to mention the various collaborations they've done outside of their albums.... Ryder556
interesting that part of State of Shock seemed to find it's way into "Angel Blue". Hmm. I guess that means either State of Shock ended up becoming Teenage Blue, and then finally Angel Blue, or State of Shock was scrapped early on. I vote the former.
