Dookiefied
I remember reading somewhere that they were. My memory does have a habit of playing tricks on me, don't take my word for it I can tell you then that Paper Lanterns was recorded in normal tuning
kerplunk_chick
Let me see...1 XAU (The ISO 4217 standard currency code of one troy ounce of gold) = 1677.78 USD. Let's say...100 XAU = 167,754 USD. That would last a few months if I don't party too hard Hmm. What's Plan B? We could pay you in gum?
Guest
I can tell you then that Paper Lanterns was recorded in normal tuning Yeah, so was The Judge's Daughter. Hmm, maybe it was just the 1000 Hours EP that was downtuned. Stupid brain
Dookiefied
Hmm. What's Plan B? We could pay you in gum? No, no...I think the best solution here would be for BJA to adopt me. Yeah, so was The Judge's Daughter. Hmm, maybe it was just the 1000 Hours EP that was downtuned. Stupid brain I think 1-10 is standard and the rest is drop down. Something like that. But it's easy to figure out if you just pick up the guitar or play skin banjo with your chrum lol.
Todd
Guys. Paper Lanterns was on Slappy. I have no idea why the fuck you're talking about 39/Smooth or 1000 Hours.
YoYoFantaFanta
I can tell you then that Paper Lanterns was recorded in normal tuning Actually on 1039, all of 39/Smooth and the songs Knowledge and I Want to Be Alone are in standard. The rest of Slappy is in D tuning (D-C-G-F-A-D). If you listen to 409 in your coffemaker dookiefied, it was actually raised half a step. And 1000 Hours is in 1/2-step down. Would that mean Only of you and The one i want are also half a step? I love playing the 1000 hour ep songs on guitar and have tried to get the sound right, to me they sound closer to some wierd 1/4 step down tuning, i don't think they put alot of effort into the tuning with that ep lol! DTH
you are all wrong. paper lanterns is neither standard, nor half step down. it is actually right inbetween (so is only of you, dry ice, etc).... which is fucking annoying when you want to play along with your guitar. edit: oh kerplunk mentioned this 1/4 step thing already. Yeah you´re right. I don't know if that was intentional (because it would seem pretty weird, wouldn't it?) or if it was just some faulty gear they used to tune their instruments lol. Insomniac is like that too. Can't play along to songs like "No Pride".Hey, Daniel (May I call you Danny too?) are you planning on trying to acoustify The Forgotten? I've really been wanting to hear that one! Of course you can, Danny is fine. They call me Danny Shatterhand. I didn't plan to but I always get awesome requests like this and so my list is very long by now. I hope to do it sometime

RiseDay
Looks like you have a lot of work to do. You should start a company with a lot of guitar players who record your Dookiefie-Versions all day But I realised something, your covers are..too heavy Óò You know, some of your songs are just a little to hard for Dookie..which is awesome shit. You don't have to change that, 'cause exactly that is what I love about your covers. Music can never be to hard, you know.
greendepent
I can tell you then that Paper Lanterns was recorded in normal tuning It was recorded on D. In the studio version, the song begins with a A chord. BJ in the live versions from Dookie and after he plays a Bb.
Guest
It was recorded on D. In the studio version, the song begins with a A chord. BJ in the live versions from Dookie and after he plays a Bb. That explains it, when I learnt it by ear I played it in A, but all the internet tabs had it in E tuned down half a step and I was like fuck that, makes no sense. Dookiefied
I actually just re-recorded whole of Paper Lanterns. I changed the chords to make it more like the Jaded In Chicago version. I'm excited to see what you guys will think of the middle section of the song.
