Check out this guy who did a cover of my cover, singing along to my version of "Stray Heart". I think it's awesome. Dookie is spreading around the world

A cover of a cover.

COVER-CEPTION

I think he needs some better mixing :P

Haha, this is getting out of hand. Soon we'll loose track of who's covering who :D Sure, his vocal recording might not fit into the mix but I personally think he sounds a lot more like BJA than I do. Maybe I'm struggling too hard to find my own voice :shy:

Haha, I've tried some piano covers too which was a lot of fun but I prefer recording with guitars :D

At certain moments in your cover of Dry Ice, your voice doesn't sound far off the way Billie's did back then. Well done! :D

And about quoting vids, i'm sorry, but i can't take them out because then i can't figure out how to get the cursor-thingy back underneath the quote box to comment. It's hard to explain.

Edit: never mind, 'tis fixed.

To be honest, I like your voice. Billie's can be a little nasal sometimes, I like the rougher edge to yours :)

Oh man, you had me at hello  I'm quite self conscious about my voice and even tho I've been singing for 15 or so years I've always had to struggle with it, only becoming slightly satisfied in recent years lol. I was never a natural talent so to speak. I look at a guy like BJA and his old videos and the guy was born to sing. Even tho BJA inspired me a lot when it comes to singing I do find it important to do your own thing you know...no one will ever sound like him anyways and no one can replace him so I don't really try that much. At least not on purpose :) Thnx again my irish friend.

 No problem man. To be honest, I'm pretty self conscious about my voice too, but hey, what can I do, just have a laugh :P

Haha that's awesome. Charming video and even in gaelic too, that's original. I like originality. That's sort of what I'm trying to do here with the Dookiefied thing :)

It's all about having fun! I'm pretty sure a lot of people are laughing away at a lot of my stuff but what can I do. We are rough riders, we live for this shit :toocool:

I just did it for a laugh really. It's pretty fun seeing how the lyrics work in a different language, especially Irish since songs rarely get translated into it anymore.

I don't think too many people are laughing man, your stuff is brilliant and takes real talent. Mines just dicking about with a dictionary and a camera :P

A bit nervous as always, anticipating your reactions. This is the previously unreleased Green Day song "Dreamcatcher". I hope you enjoy :)

Haha, nice! Even though we just know the crappy live recordings. Kinda reminds me of Having a Blast, in a good way. I think it's pretty..I don't know..weird that it's so "easy" to copy the Dookie-Sound.

Really cool song. I'm waiting for the official release yet.

Thanks for doing this (:

I actually love Alienation. Shatterhand is my fave song right now, along with Detached and Hyperactivity desorder.

In the other hand, I find that the mastering in Dumbstruck is a bit louder than it must be. Maybe is the compression of mp3, but be careful with that (:

Thank you man! I don't know if I would agree that it's easy haha, but I see your point. For me it has taken many years of learning and refining recording and mixing techniques to get where I am today. Also, Dookie was a pretty organic recording if that makes any sense at all. It was an analog recording and it was your basic setup more or less. The newer recordings are Pro Tools, samples and more digital stuff :)

Thank you, appreciate it! I'm glad you like my original music too. Shatterhand is my name. I got it after smashing my hand through a window and busting up my hand pretty bad. I'm glad I can still play the guitar. That's what the song is about :)

your best singing so far!

p.s.: did you do something different with the drums this time?

Thank's a lot! I think the newer songs does not suit my vocal style as well as older stuff like Dookie and this song is pretty old skool. Nothing different really with the drums. Might have tried out a different snare to make it sound more Dookie, but that's about it :)

Yeha..I pretty much know nothing about recording and shit :D I just said easy, 'cause your cover versions just sound like dookie. I think, they should go back to the "easy" recording style. I really don't like this over-produced shit

I think that is part of the reason why I started sort of drifting away from the band. Up until Warning it was all organic, analoge recordings. You could basically feel the wood and the blood, sweat and tears coming out of the speakers, but from AI and on it's too much samples and digitalism and stuff. I think it took away much of the soul. I always like the concept of "keep it simple and stupid". Dookie was just perfect like that. It was the real thing to me and that is the sound I have learned to love. Too bad the guy who mixed it is dead :(

Just pushing the new song "Dreamcatcher" up again if someone just entered the conversation and might have missed it :)

this is bloody perfect, the band needs to see this so they'll record it for, some random purpose.
