People actually defending Nightlife..... dear god.

We all get that you don't like the song, dude. Pipe down.

Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean others can't.

Get over it.

I do like Wild One. Makes me all dewy eyed and wistful. I think it's the "hello" that gets me.

Dude. Say why you like a song, don't be a dick about it.

Try the turbo mode on Opera. Tpb has been blocked here since last year, but after trying that it actually works again.

hmm...no, only 2 days to wait and I'll get my hands on the actual cd. I can wait 2 days....it's hard though

well, imo the song is good, not perfect/epic/awesome..but good

but this should be the first and last time GD do sth like rap.. :/

Nearly all the lyrics of Like A Rat Does Cheese (including, "Nibble on my dick like a rat does cheese" and "Suck my dick until your lips fall off) are stolen/quoted from old gangsta rap songs, just saying :P

Does anyone find themselves appreciating 21st Century Breakdown a lot more since Uno and Dos have come out? Not that I particularly disliked it to begin with, and not that Uno and Dos make that album seem great, it's just that we've now gotten two enormous breaths of fresh air that sound nothing like that album, so we're now 2 albums distant from it where we can really start to appreciate it for what it was.

Not that I've actually listened to 21CB since these albums came out  But in my head I admire it more, and I think my exhaustion with it has worn off.

(Granted, I could see this going the opposite direction for some people, that the trilogy's awesomeness reinforces everything they loathe about 21CB  )

Kinda sorta. I remember listening to 21CB and being ecstatic. Not the same feeling I had for these albums so far.

Also listening to the beginning of the Forgotten is a mindfuck for me because I keep thinking it's Last Night on Earth

I actually listened to 21st Century Breakdown a lot more since Dos came out and I actually seem to be loving it now. It already took over Nimrod's spot for my second favorite Green Day album.

I feel after all that has happened that UNO is the album to show Green Day's back in the public eye. And (now) DOS is sorta for us true Green Day fans to cherish since it's so "fresh" in a way and other people wouldn't understand, And TRE is that monsterous epic that will dominate the whole field... Kinda of like Godzilla but with a crazy blonde hair do and a really hyper atittude of a 10 year old.

Sometimes it's better just to bite your tongue, you know? Saying "nobody ever told them they suck as singing...." do you mean to be constructive? Well, no you're not. You're mean and what you just said means nothing at all. Just wanted to let you know. And Patrick, your cover is great! I really enjoyed it a lot! ;)/>

Thanks ! :)

I'm really enjoying Dos a lot more than Uno, on the whole. Uno has some songs I really like (NF, STN, CD, FFY), but during the time I was listening to it a lot, I found myself skipping close to half of the album. Dos is just a stronger collection of songs...Nightlife and Amy are the only songs I don't care for, the rest of the album is really kick-ass.

Best to worst:

1. Stray Heart

2. Ashley

3. Wild One

4. Wow! That's Loud

5. Stop When The Red Lights Flash

6. Lady Cobra

7. Makeout Party

8. Lazy Bones

9. Baby Eyes

10. See You Tonight

11. Fuck Time

12. Nightlife

13. Amy

Overall, I feel like I lost even more appreciation for the AI/21CB era through the first 2/3 of the Trilogy. It's refreshing to hear the band writing songs more akin to the Nimrod/Warning era; rocking out with the occasional experimentation, without feeling the need (or pressure?) to make everything grandiose and huge. Especially with 21CB, everything felt forced into being "bigger" and more "epic" than AI, and it really just amounted to piano intros/outros being tacked-on to sterile sounding pop-punk. It was an album that I was impressed with on first listen, but I really find tough to listen to today. Much like Insomniac, it was Green Day being reactionary to what people expected of them, rather than the band just doing whatever the hell they wanted. Nimrod, and Warning especially, have gone way up in my eyes since they came out. I really didn't like Warning back in 2000, but with each subsequent listen in the years since, I've gained a lot more respect for it.

Another thing about Uno/Dos...it's nice to hear Mike playing bass again, after noticeably missing on the last two albums... :D

I know we've had it out for quite a long time but hearing Fuck Time's studio version make me want to party all night long! ^^

To be honest, I like Lady Cobra parts more than Billie's in nightlife :P

Especially " Hey Boy.... "

But Billie sings great too. Seems that he's drunk while singing.

You might be right but I look at this trilogy and 21cb through different perspective. to me half of 21cb was huge but I didn't fall for the rest.I never discriminate Green Day's last 3 records. My playlist contains songs from AI, 21cb, Uno, Dos and pre AI and I never skip any song that starts to play because I have a reason to listen to every one of them. By the way 21cb is a record that I will always respect.

Yeah, me too
