Ritz
I hope I can hear Make Out Party and Nightlife live. Amazing bass solo on Make Out party. I mean I don't even have words for that, so groovy and awesome. And Nightlife will be pretty interesting to watch being performed live.
tdlyon
I don't think they'll do Nightlife live, unless Mystic Knights of the Cobra open for them or something. It'll most likely be another Misery.
Chelsea831
Does Wild One really say "She gave up on jesus, eating on peanuts"? that's honestly what I heard I originally thought the same thing, haha! Glad I'm not alone there.
Cruise
Something tells me Uno is made to have the heavy guitar tracks, Dos having the heavy bass tracks and Tre will have the heavy drum tracks.
GreenCard Yellow Day
Alright after many listens I'm ready to review it properly. See You Tonight- Similar to Song Of The Century on 2009's 21st Century Breakdown, this song serves as an opener. It is only 66 seconds long and as it goes smoothly into the next track. 4/5 F**k Time- "Oh baby baby it's coitus time" as Sheldon would say it. Haha. This song has a "Are You Ready To Party?!?" vibe. It's a great and fun song. 5/5 Stop When The Red Lights Flash- Many of us heard this one from countless live videos. The full studio version came from a racing game and we were not expecting it. Despite being slightly slower than live performances of the song, it is still a wonderful track. "I'll Make You Surrender" is just something that you want to sing along to. 4/5 Lazy Bones- We got a preview of this song from Angry Birds. Just from that, we all knew it would be a great track. And it is. The chorus is so catchy and the solo. It comes in after a slight pause which might make casual listeners think the song is over. But when it comes, it really brings it. 5/5 Wild One- This song is kinda repetitive. The ending is amazing though. 4/5 Makeout Party- This song is when it feels like the party has reached it's high point. I can't even describe the guitar solo and bass solo. That's how awesome they are. 5/5 Stray Heart- This is the first song I heard from the live videos at the Tiki Bar. I thought is was the bee's knees(who even says that now a days?) I got super pumped when it was released as a single. It features a snazzy bass riff in the intro and chorus. I feel like this song should switch places with Kill The DJ though. When I first listened to this album, after listening to the song a thousand times, this one seemed like a weaker track. 4/5 Ashley- Love it. 'Nuff Said. 5/5 Baby Eyes- This one is good. I love the line "God Rest Your F**king Soul". I also enjoy the intro/ending(instruments) 4/5 Lady Cobra- Another great track. This is a short one, clocking in at 126 seconds. Almost the whole song was leaked by Green Day during a radio interview. 5/5 Nightlife- This song is 'meh' for me. It is great yet bad. The weird solo and bass are cool. This song along with Lady Cobra sounds like the party is getting out of hand. 3.5/5 Wow! That's Loud- This is my favorite track. It is also the longest track at 4:27. The chorus is something that you'll want to sing along to. The bridge and ending have the party's over vibe, following the previous tracks' this party is to wild vibe. 5/5 Amy- Despite being loved by many, this is my least favorite track. Interestingly, all the stuff talked about in the album, is what killed her. It can also be seen as someone reflecting on the night(or the party). 3/5 Overall- This album is much better than UNO and may possibly be my favorite in the trilogy. Score- 56.5/65 or 87% Where it stands in my order of favorites Insomniac-95% American Idiot-93% Kerplunk-90% Warning-90% Dos-87% Nimrod-86% Dookie-80% Uno-76 1039/SOSH-76% 21st CB-76%
Bundita
I feel that Nightlife was a bit too overprocessed and it would have been pretty cool to hear more of a raw sound, but nevertheless, it was still pretty good

iRun
I kinda wish Amy had some strings in it. Not to much some very subtle ones.

Clayish
I caved. Gave it one listen and not listening again till next week. See You Tonight - Fantastic. Amazing vibe, a PERFECT way to start this album. Fuck Time - Solid. Not really the biggest fan of the song, but it's a solid intro. Still not Green Day worthy. Stop When The Red Lights Flash - rehash of the riff from the 2nd part of Homecoming, pretty bland track. Lazy Bones - Reallll good. Thought it would be better from your responses, but this a great track. Wild One - Green Day's version of Creep. Billie Joe sounds fantastic, great lyrics. Makeout Party - THIS is what i'm talking about. Straight rocker, Dirnt's bass breakdown is his best performance since Insomniac. Stray Heart - Fantastic. Absolutely great. Ashley - Decent. Doesn't really go anywhere, but it's a rocker for sure. Baby Eyes - Love this one, great rocker. Chorus is amazing. Lady Cobra - Very reminiscent of the White Stripes "I fell in love with a girl", pretty good. Nightlife - This is straight up embarrassing. I don't understand how any of you can defend this track, it's horrendous. Billie Joe doesn't even sound good. Wow! That's Loud! - Sick. Great track. Amy - Shoplifter anyone? real nice track though, Billie Joe sounds great on this. 8/10 on the first listen. A great vibe on this album and some rockers for sure. Couple of bland songs here though, and Nightlife is just SO bad. I honestly don't know what they were thinking here. Gotta wait till Monday night to listen again though. Least that what Billie said in one of the trilogy interviews i think in the Guitar World said they used the home studio in ny and they added Mike's bass later

TheNimrod51
I'm starting to think that See You Tonight is almost like waking up the day of the party hoping to see that girl you've been wanting to get with. The song is so creepy in a way that it's portrayed fucking amazingly. And then Fuck Time comes in and it's just like you're first stepping in the door to a badass party. Each song actually contributes to the party theme and I love it. Dos! is perfection!

I cannot agree more!!I just wish See you tonight was a bit longer.I remember this song featuring in green day's tour update video for japan on youtube, and I thaught it was A john lennon song being played on the radio.I tried searching for it but cud not find it.But then I listen to dos! and I am Like=THIS IS THE SONG.Could not believe my fucking years. What a song.I wish it was 4 minuted or something. No doubt it would have been the best song of the year!!(considering tre released in january )

KilltheDJ23
So has anyone thought about how both UNO and DOS leaked a week early, which probably means so will TRE. Next Tues marks the official release of DOS which then puts the official release of TRE only 3 weeks away, and on top of that with the leak that is most likely for sure gunna happen that then puts actually hearing TRE only 2 weeks away from the official release date of DOS. Dont know about you guys but im getting really really fucking excited here!!!!!!!! :bunny:
SetOnOverdrive
It's 5am. I'm sat in work listening to Dos! and chatting in the thread about nightlife being the most horrible song ever. So Nightlife comes on then WOW! That's loud and then Amy. I've heard this song many times. Ever since we got that little clip we got months ago of it being played live. I don't think a song has ever snapped me back to reality like this song. Usually when people start talking about songs that are peices of art I normally disagree entirely with that statement. Although with Amy I can't help but say that the song is perfect. I'm so glad they just used the guitar and vocals and kept it "no thrills" (I would be curious to hear how it would have sounded using an acoustic guitar though. Sometimes I think the clean electric guitar sound is too "toppy". TL;DR - This is a phenomenal song.
aldyofficial
Actually both See you Tonight and Amy are electric. You can clearly hear the electric sound of the guitar in See You Tonight, and the song even starts with Billie hitting that Pickup switch. Amy is even easier to hear the electric. From my minimum knowledge of Acoustic guitars, you can't get a twang sound like that. EDIT: Actually See You Tonight might be a guitar duet type thing with both an acoustic and electric. But Amy is definetly only electric. ups sorry, I usually said that a song that just use one guitar is an acoustic..

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
I will marry the first part of the chorus of Lazy Bones. Firecracker Lell
Excuse me if this is silly, but Why did Billie write a song for Amy Winehouse? I mean they're totally different, their genres & music. It's none of my business & it's his own choice, but I'm curious about it! I never thought Billie would write a song about her P.S: Don't attack me, plz

When Amy died he felt that it was a huge loss of potential to the music industry. So even though he didn't know her he felt like the whole music industry was affected.
