SetOnOverdrive
I don't mind Nightlife. Its like Massive Attack meets Garbage meets, well, Green Day.

blitzkriegdeb
I don't get people complaining about Lady Cobra rapping? It's meant to be sleazy and dirty sounding, she's supposed to act like the devil on your shoulder, and quite frankly I think it sounds fucking on the spot. I can't see it as being cringeworthy in anyway, shape or form. Lets face it, getting rap into a Green Day song could've been a huuuuuge fuck-up beyond massive proportions. I think Lady Cobra fits in perfectly here and brings home the sleaziness of the song. Also I need to get high to this song, but I digress.

Todd
I love the line "I'm drinking the kool-aid, I jumped on a grenade. Now that my mind is gonna blow, hello." Oh...Grenade. I was wondering what that word was. Yeah
AfterShock
they better play all these songs live... or i will find them... and spank them I actually think songs from Uno will be better for stadium live shows. Like these songs are cool and all but I don't see them fitting in very well at an arena show
Virtue
I literally melted when I heard the full version of Lazy Bones.. It gives me goosebumps. The Harmonies.. So..Wow. Especially that second or 2 of silence, and they explode back in the chorus.

Homero
I already love this album! I love Nightlife! The way Billie sings makes me think of "Dark side of night". My favourites so far are: Fuck Time, Nightlife, and Makeout Party. I don't really like Wild One, but I was walking on the street and started singing the song, and then realized I don't really like it When listening to Lazy Bones I always expect the song to fade out after Bilie Joe sings "and I think you look like shit", it feels weird after listening the preview for months ! I think that's it's my favorite song of the album so far haha I think it's weird not to hear Zane Lowe's laugh during Nightlife or Lady Cobra, I was used to it. Freezing Melons
Yea, Dos is better than Uno in my opinion. The album flows a lot better thats for true.

Cob
I love those Clockwork Orange lyrics in "Stop When The Red Lights Flash". "I'm like ultra-violence I'll kill it if you want me to" Good metaphor too.
stuffismessedup
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLv7viCMGo8 i let my dad listen to Wow! Thats Loud and this is what he said it remided him of. i love the album and the vibes that the songs are giving off! songs that stick out are definitely Lazy Bones and Baby Eyes. I just wish i hadnt overplayed the live versions of fuck time, wild one, stray heart, and makeout party from the echoplex. I thought it wouldnt be a big deal because they were the only songs i was listening to from the album since i was at the show and told myself i could, but i think i could have enjoyed the album so much more had i cooled it with those songs. However, this is definitely a great album and i listened to it 7 times today! hooray for taking the bus to college and having free hours to listen to music! Cruise
I would have to order them as:Ashley or Lady Cobra, its just to hard to pick between them.^Baby EyesFuck TimeWow Thats Loud Its hard to separate the songs above this point.Makeout PartyStop When The Red Lights FlashLazy BonesStray HeartAmyWild OneNightlife - Not as bad as I thought when I heard it would have rap (I hate rap) but I wouldn't really call it rap, its more talking, I actually hate the effects on Billie's voice more then Lady Cobra's singing, its a song that really fits in even though it sounds so different. Its good but not a favourite like the rest of the album.See You Tonight (seems like the song never finished) I need a playlist with Ashley, Lady Cobra and Baby Eyes. I will say this is my favourite album. I am happy I am on holidays before Tre is released and I can wait until release to hear the songs, with no spoilers. DTH
I think you did. You listed rap that you considered good after she said that the reason people dislike the song was not because "rap is bad" but because the idea of rap in a Green Day song/how it was executed was cheesy and lame. The existence of quality music such as RHCP and other bands you listed does not affect this because she was not saying "the idea of all rap is bad" but that the idea of Nightlife was bad. I don't know, I can't speak for her but this is just what I got from reading the posts. Also: she said: rap is cringe worthy. not rap in a green day song. Josh100_3
So i've decided to give into the leak since I waited for Uno and I can just as easily wait for Tre WOW! It's like...they've taken my music taste and smashed it in a blender with Green Day! I love the dark tones, the sleaze, the grit! When Billie described it as "you're at the party" I was a bit skeptical and initially thought "Oh here we go, a 40 year old still wants to party" but to be honest, it completely works! The feeling I get from this album is the feeling of getting asbolutely drunk as hell and NEEDING a girl! This album isn't pretty, it isn't supposed to be "perfect" but fuck me it's fun! Malleus
she said: rap is cringe worthy. not rap in a green day song. or because the idea of the rap and the rap itself is cringeworthy. She is clearly referring to Nightlife and not all rap and this whole discussion is based on a simple misunderstanding.
