DTH
If you like old school gd the best I get why you like Uno better but really those songs aren't any better than JAR or poprocks and coke. i dont know if you can say that. i like 90s green day music the most, but i dont like uno. thats because uno is like old green day lacking of power (fuck the production of uno) and their outstanding melodies. the song which reaches the old standard the most is sweet 16 in my opinion. its sound is like a nimrod an 1039/smoothed out slappy hours mix. dos is fresh, remembers old green day but adds new unusual elements to their music and is much more powerful than uno. uno 4/10, dos 9/
teh_dude_guy_9
My review of Dos after 2 listens. 1. See You Tonight: Short Ballad (think Ballad of Wilhelm Fink but not as good) 2. Fuck Time: It was expectedly awesome but methinks it should've had a better solo. Very FBHT. 3. Stop When The Red Lights Flash: Definitely FBHT-ish with large chunks of Green Day added.(think Maria) 4. Lazy Bones: One of my favorites & pretty much an awesome song. Imagine Longview but 60 years older? I don't know if that makes sense. I'm talking the general sense of the song and not the song Longview itself. 5. Wild One: Another one of my favorites. If you're listening it in the order intended to be listened in, then this song goes perfectly well after the last one. It's something new-ish i think. 6. Makeout Party: Yet another favorite. A grittier, darker FBHT but another great song. Definitely grows on you after a couple of plays. Very sexy solo too. 7. Stray Heart: A love ballad, and hints of 21stCBD and big pieces of FBHT, and a whole lotta new Green Day. I like this one. The bass is nice, loud and fucking sexy. 8. Ashley: A very refreshing and catchy, fast paced song. The only way to describe this to Green Day fans, is for them to visualize how Cigarettes and Valentines would've been and this is one of them. A smell some Ramones. 9. Baby Eyes: Another track i didn't anticipate i would like it but it's nice and new. At first it kinda reminds you of Sweet 16 but faster and harder. (watch out for the twist, it gets dark) 10. Lady Cobra: Yes, yes and fucking yes. Reminds me a bit of the Subways. A very FBHT song but more Green Day and the guitar sounds soo sweet. Definitely another favorite. 11. Nightlife: I don't know .. i suppose it's the DOS equivalent of Kill The DJ, but you can see where they're coming from. I think they're just having fun here. Kind of catchy i guess. Maybe a tiny bit of Gorillaz? Maybe? No? Okay 12. Wow! That's Loud: I sense a little more of Uno here. But i didn't like this one. The one song that every album has i guess. 13. Amy: A nice heart felt ballad. People may draw comparisons to Good Riddance, but i think they've definitely improved their song writing since then. I like this song very much. There's my review. Who cares, probably shite anyway.

Cob
We'll after listening to this album, I really must say: Fuckin' Amazing. Let's make a iUNO! vs iDOS! comparison: iUNO! (After many listens) 1 - Nuclear Family (8.5/10) 2 - Stay the Night (9.0/10) 3 - Carpe Diem (8.5/10) 4 - Let Yourself Go (9.0/10) 5 - Kill the DJ (8.0/10) 6 - Fell ForYou (7.5/10) 7 - Loss of Control (7.5/10) 8 - Troublemaker (7.5) 9 - Angel Blue (8.0/10) 10 - Sweet 16 (9.0/10) 11 - Rusty James (9.0/10) 12 - Oh Love (8.0/10) Final considerations: It's a very strong album. The only flaw is that it starts very srtong but soon loses some momentum, picking it up in the end. Still very balanced. Final score (not overall): 8.0/10 Best Songs: Bold iDOS! (After today) 1 - See You Tonight (9.5/10) 2 - Fuck Time (8.5/10) 3 - Stop When the Red Lights Flash (8.5/10) 4 - Lazy Bones (9.5/10) 5 - Wild One (8.5/10) 6 - Makeout Party (9.0/10) 7 - Stray Heart (9.0/10) 8 - Ashley (8.0/10) 9 - Baby Eyes (8.0/10) 10 - Lady Cobra (7.0) 11 - Nightlife (4.0/10) 12 - Wow! That's Loud (8.5/10) 13 - Amy (8.5/10) Final Considerations: Better than iUNO!, It has a 7 song streak (amazing), but Nightlife ruins completely the flow. If it wasn't for it i would give the album a 9.0. Final score (not overall): 8.5/10 Best Songs: Bold In my opinion, an album mixing these best songs would be the best Green Day album ever. I really don't think it's fair to compare these albums. Sure they're part of the trilogy, but Dos is incredibly different from Uno, actually its unlike anything they've done before. Its dirty, dark, noisy; It's almost like they took the sound from "Reject" and "Take Back" and made an album out of it. From a musical standpoint, Dos is "better" purely because it has more variety, in terms of sound and music. In my opinion, the songs from these albums couldn't be mixed together, because they're completely unique to their album. That's the reason the songs were grouped and placed into different albums and not jumbled together. I realize that this does hurt Uno, because there isn't much musical variety on it, but it works, and that's whats important. Each album should be judged by its own merit. It's definitely okay to prefer one album over the other, I just want to remind people that Uno is pretty damn good too. It's not the greatest thing they've ever done, but it doesn't have to be. They said they wanted to strip it down and make simpler songs, but they weren't going back to that old sound. It was time to move on in their eyes. Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap
agreed, before i really got into rock, i was a huge rap fan. i mean, i wasn't a huge lil wayne person or anything like that, but more like classic rap, along with some crossover rock-rap like rage against the machine and the beastie boys. It's just part of having decent music taste. I can't really respect the opinion of someone who says "rap is terrible". No one who isn't a total moron would say rock music is terrible. The term incorporates way too many different styles and subgenres. If you were to say "I don't like 80s rap or death metal" then fair enough, they're more particular types of music. Some people are happy to just listen to Kerrang's "top 50 acts of the century" or whatever and end up missing out. By the same token, a lot of people get hung up on Green Day not being punk enough or whatever and overlook the fact that the music's still good regardless. Mar
Ooh, the temptation is there. But I find it kind of dumb to d/l a leak of an album that I'm gonna buy, so fuck it, I'll just wait.
21 guns for you
DOS IS FUCKING AMAZING!!!! Im loving Fuck Time, Lazy Bones, Baby eyes, Nightlife and Wow that loud among nearly all of them. The only songs that dont really facinate me are Wild one (never understood the hype around it) and Makeout Party (the bass interlude is killer though). Such an amazing album. Nearly all of the lyrics on here are well thought out and deliever a clear message unlike most of UNO. Now eagerly awaiting TRE. Anyonne else feel like each album is getting better and better in the trilogy

Malleus
no. I think you did. You listed rap that you considered good after she said that the reason people dislike the song was not because "rap is bad" but because the idea of rap in a Green Day song/how it was executed was cheesy and lame. The existence of quality music such as RHCP and other bands you listed does not affect this because she was not saying "the idea of all rap is bad" but that the idea of Nightlife was bad. I don't know, I can't speak for her but this is just what I got from reading the posts. Also: "the rap in nightlife is far from being good, but the rap in there doesnt want to be good!" Lol. This is the lamest fucking excuse in the history of excuses. "It doesn't want to be good!" Of course it does man, everything does, but this just doesn't live up to the standards as well as other songs. I get that it's sleezy and immature, but you can't excuse it for being bad by saying "oh well that's the point." No it isn't, it's just a side effect. Granted it works well given the situation surrounding the song, but I digress.
