Guest
lol nightlife... that is all and after listen to NIGHTLIFE for 3 times i can say... that's it baby.. you're out of my playlist for good Really not understanding the hate on Nightlife. Just because it's not two verses and a chorus doesn't mean it's not a good song. The lyrics perfectly match the dark and sleazy nature of the the rest of the album's lyrics. Maybe people dislike it because it's the only one of the songs that makes no attempt to hide how dark it is.
Travis
Today was productive. I listened to this all day long. Yep. i had it on repeat headed to work, at work, and on my way home from work today. Such a great day!
Ritz
Nightlife will be the 'Kill The Dj' of Dos. But I just love it.

DTH
im hearing my favourite green day songs on shuffle right now (including the new ones) and there is one thing i noticed: the melodys of dos songs are sometimes completly in a different style compared to previous songs. i think the only songs which can be compared to the sound of previous songs are: lazy bones, amy, stray heart and baby eyes. other songs on dos still sound like green day (and not like fbht like some might say) but havent got those typical happy sounding melodys and harmonies. which is a nice change if you are hearing all green day songs and then a track like lady cobra or wow thats loud starts. iScottie
Yep. i had it on repeat headed to work, at work, and on my way home from work today. Such a great day! I had the day off from school and I literally didn't do anything else but listen to this lol
Mauri
I'm gonna say something that I'm sure has been said already but... "I'm gonna hold you till you're paralysed (sp?)" is laaaaaame. (Or did I download a sort of "clean" version, which I doubt) Still, I love the album! Listening for the 2nd time right now.
Guest
For me it's because the rap is horrible. I find nearly all rap fairly shit to be honest. Everyone is going on about how it doesn't work and it sounds stupid. Well, rap is the sleaziest kind of music out there (apart from hair metal perhaps), and Nightlife is (one of) the sleaziest songs on the album. It works for me. KGLWW
This forum is really reminding me how funny green day fans are. How can you hate makeout party and nightlife? I mean do you listen to anything besides green day sheesh lol,
perfectpitchrob
It seems for every massive music project that has to more than 25 songs total (if we include the whole trillogy as a full 37 song set), there's always one song that's so far out from not only the album but also the band itself. The Beatles' 30 song White album had "Revolution #9, The Clash's 36 song Sandinista had "Mensforth Hill", and now Nightlife seems to be the wild experiment on this 37 song trillogy. With that being said though, unlike the former two examples which are very avant garde, Nightlife is a very dark gritty and eerie tune on Dos that, complete with the rapping, distorted vocals and drums, and minimal guitar, certainly sounds like no song on the album, or by Green Day for that matter. And even though I'm not usually a rap fan, Lady Cobra does give the song a sleezy-sultry feel with her vocal tone. Just some of the lyrics are a bit odd. ("explore your vocal cords?") Guest
Just some of the lyrics are a bit odd. ("explore your vocal cords?") I think she may be referring to the age old sport of tonsil hockey Kill the DJ is sooo much better than Nightlife. I'm edging more towards Nightlife. Kill The DJ is too polished. I like the grittier feel of Nightlife.

Well no, the ratio of shit rap music to good rap music is the same as every other genre of music, but the one in this song is really bad. And the bit at the end where they just trade the same lines over and over, it's like PLEASE JUST FINISH THE FUCKING SONG.

Tabeeb
I don't like Nightlife at all but I respect it's position on the album. My top 5 from Dos would be: 1. Stray Heart 2. Fuck Time 3. Lady Cobra 4. Wow! That's Fucking Loud! 5. Makeout Party

Bob2123
Love that almost every song I saw live at Tiki Bar appears on Uno!, Dos! & Tre! All that's left missing is Gabriella. They also played Little Boy Named Train there. I really can't wait for that song. The title sounds epic.

Malleus
I don't mind listening to Nightlife by itself, but it really takes me out of the album for some reason. I guess it fits in with the theme, but musically it makes me feel a bit nauseous. The part where Lady Cobra says "see you later" is cringeworthy. I think the "See You Later" part is directly sampled from Mystic Knights of the Cobra's "Text Messaging Slut". It's exactly the same- http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DAhqqkfOGwo
