¡DOS! Album

I loved See You Tonight! Now THAT is what you call Beatle-esque.

I thought the pause in Lazy Bones was...odd.

Billie himself said there was absolutely no filler on any of the albums from the trilogy.

That's more a matter of opinion though. Billie's not going to say there are fillers, is he?

Well isn't a filler a song that the artist just put on the record to "fill" a spot? And Billie has said that they put effort into all the songs. That he could tell you where he wrote every song on the trilogy and exactly what every song was about.

Yeah, but I also think that there has to be some songs on the albums - any albums - that mean more than others, or we'd never have so many songs that get put on albums never to be heard of again.

Filler is just basically a song that is not good and it takes up the space. An artist is not going to admit when a song is filler because there is no real definition and it changes with everybody. I fully believe Billie when he says he thinks all of the trilogy songs are great and not duds, but that doesn't mean other people can't see differently. I think so far the only real dud is Nightlife.

The more I listen to this album, the more I find myself thinking that Nightlife kind of sucks.

Gotta say (im sure to recieve some shit for it), but Lazy Bones is by far my least favorite off of DOS. Its a fantastic song but that whole album fucks UNO and leaves without saying goodbye. WOW, Baby Eyes, Wild One, and Amy are my tops ATM.

To every person their own. I wasn't blown away by the preview like everyone else was but it's become one of my favorites on the album, probably just because I'm relating to it at the moment.

While I'm waiting for Halo 4 tonight I'm going to blast "Fuck Time" and see what people think

You know how to live man! I can't wait for Halo 4.

Artists do not tell the fans what songs are filler, the fans decide for themselves which songs are filler

IMO the ones that stand out the most are Troublemaker and Makeout Party. They have a similar vibe, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a song on Tre that sounds similar to them both as well.

They probably wrote them all back to back and decided to put one on each album, knowing they were all weaker songs.

which is the fastest solo? makeout party or wow that's loud?

I would say they're about equal. Maybe "Wow! That's Loud" is a bit faster. They're both great solos though, Billie taps it out like Van Halen man!

So, what's the general consensus? I'm not listening till it releases. I ruined Uno for myself, and I WILL NOT with Dos and Tre. I've heard snippets and Stray Heart once. I'm being strong

Good point.

Then I'm correcting myself: Green Day goes to a direction which i personally don't like, if i listen to this album, it seems like they've lost that uniqe sound (& lyrics) they had in albums like American Idiot and 21 Century Breakdown.

I do enjoy this album a lot, but I kinda get what you're saying. This is a genre/style in which there's a little bit more good competition when compared to the 'epic' concept albums. Don't forget that ¡Tre! is still coming though, so you might enjoy that one more? :)

It's good. It's hard not to compare it to Uno because they're both in the trilogy, but they're very different albums. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, because the style is very different. I honestly think that Green Day's never done something like this, it's almost like a combination of Foxboro Hot Tubs, Warning, with a little Nimrod and Dookie sprinkled here and there. It's great trust me you will not be disappointed.

I think the general consensus is that it's a pretty awesome album. People seem to like it better than ¡Uno! at the moment.

Also, I don't get why Kill the DJ isn't on ¡Dos!.

I loved Uno, but unlike that album, I could say I would be completely satisfied if Green Day released just one album (Dos). Probably up there with Nimrod and Insomniac as my fave GD album.
