I would say Troublemaker.

Never :P

Reduce the quality by 1/24th so you can put another song in #CD logic

I like my quality to be a its maximum. Im willing to sacrifice a song :P

Either Angel Blue or Loss of Control. They're very similar. I felt if they would have cut those and put in something else, Uno would have been more robust.

Im thinking Loss of Control too.

Not a fan of Wow that's Loud.. :/

Me neither really. I like it, but the melody is so strange. It sounds Scottish or something.

there are 25 songs on UNO and DOS combined. 24 of them will fit on to 1CD.

Hmmmmm, Which song shall get the chop?

None of them, wait c3 weeks and make a double CD.

See You Tonight, if you will :)

It has to be a longer song than that :)

I'll do that too :)

I "accidentally" clicked on See You Tonight on youtube... *looks around*

However, I do happen to have a thing for folk music, as i'm a big bob dylan fan, so of course i love this song, but GOD DAMNIT IF ONLY IT WAS LONGER.

I'm sure a few of you have noticed but I think it's funny that for such upbeat music, the lyrics on this album are very dark.

Yeah that seems to be a theme with Green Day, some of their poppiest songs are also some of their darkest

Ummmm no? When you burn a CD, all the tracks are converted to WAV and you can fill about 80 minutes of music, regardless of file quality.

Am I the only one that likes Nightlife? I mean, I think it's just freaking awesome.

I'm withholding the "awesome" tag for now, but I think I like it. It's super-dark, it's our narrator in the pit of his addiction, his self-destruction, aware of what it's doing to the people around him -- and his not giving a shit. The rapping is sinister-sweet-seductive and I think melds perfectly with the drugged-out effects on Billie's lead vocal. It's not intended to be rap -- it's commentary on the party culture at the same time as it's the answer to Kill the DJ, and the creative brilliance is its using that culture's own "trademark" four-on-the-floor hip-hop song and vocal structure as the harpoon.

Also: fuck guys, that piercing sound at the end of Wow! was really unnecessary.

Not sure about that...can't give a really good listen to it here at the office (left my headphones at home today dammit!!) but at least on the surface I'm seeing it as a shreik of pain, ecstasy, or a combination of both, that drops us into Amy as the closer. Someone died here -- if the lyrics themselves don't make that clear, the music needs to and I think does.

"See you tonight" could be Green Day in busking mode on. I kinda miss a fiddle (like Lucia Micarelli's caracter in Treme) :shy:

I am not sure what to think about Baby Eyes. It starts off kinda like the Foo Fighters and then ends like it is a misfits song.

Thank you!

Tho he'll argue the 700mb also determines audio as well...

Well said. To me the way "Wow! That's Loud" breaks down really puts an emphasis on how the party sort of comes to an end and shuts down. Its a perfect transition into "Amy". This is album is fun sounding and such, but its really dark thematically and lyrically as well.

K, listened to the album all day at school. I gotta say, Fuck Time, Wow! That's Loud, and Ashley are my favourites. Great fucking job GD. I knew you were better than what you did with Uno. 9/10 for Dos.

AND GUESS WHAT? WE GET ANOTHER ALBUM IN A MONTH! :D

Well yes, I understood why they did it in the context of the song and album, but I really could do without the screeching in my headphones. I'm definitely editing the mp3 to end before that, I never want to hear it again. I don't care if it's insulting to the purpose of the art :P

I really like Billie's parts of Nightlife, A LOT. The rapping is so lame though. The tune is bubblegummy, I'm not really buying it. But I really love Billie's parts and the end when they're both singing.
