¡DOS! Album

After hearing the Album in full, Green Day should just make Stop Drop and Roll an official Green Day album. Dos is basically the sequel to it.

3rd listen still awesom...

The only complaint i have about Dos (and Uno) They are too fucking short!! (i am a spoiled kid because of the AI and 21CB length... i know i should feel bad :P )

haha the lyrics of Babys Eyes remind me of the Simpsons episode where Maggie shot Mr. Burns lol

3 albums... 37 songs... Totally agree! Waaaay too short! :D

Actually never mind. The video just got blocked. A lot faster than I expected. If it's allowed I could upload to soundcloud or something.

Soundcloud will block it instantly, in my experience.

Ashley, Baby Eyes and Lady Cobra all share that FBHT feel, and sound like garage rock. I like that a lot. I hope with all my heart that I never hear Nightlife again.

Awesome song Makeover

Party !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. (Tre'S Drums)

Why did I ever let you on the internet, Cillian?

Nightlife is so fucking bad, makes Christian's inferno look like a masterpiece.

It sounds like a Nicki Minaj B side. Deleted it straight away, burn it with fire.

And you would obviously know this from your long experience of listening to Nicki Minaj B-Sides?

Dude, that's harsh! It's not as bad as Nicki Minaj is, come on! But you know, opinions are like buttholes, everybody got one.

I like Nightlife, even that I'm not a fan of that kind of music, but I like it. And Mystic Knights of the Cobra aren't R&B group, I think even Lady Cobra has done this playfully.

In the middle of Wild One, I was yelling inside : Too much awesomeness at once! This album is just so good.

Favorite tracks: Lazy Bones, Makeout party, Baby Eyes.

All in all, this album is awesome!

Not the SouthernAirAwesome, but still pretty awesome.

I think he was credited for shouting "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!" in Let Yourself Go :P

Oh okay  I guess that doesn't really count as "background vocals".

Ratings:

See You Tonight: 3/5 - Kind of iffy. Not bad but not good, certainly not how I wasn't expecting Dos to start off, but it's not horrible.

Fuck Time: 5/5 - Besides the overtly dirty lyrics that will pop in my head at the most innapropiate times, I LOVE the beat of the song and Billie's sadistic chuckles.

Stop When the Red Lights Flash 4/5 - Kind of a quick tempo, probably could've been a little faster. I'm in with the "I'll make you surrender" line for some reason.

Lazy Bones 3/5 - Probably my favorite lyricwise off of the album, but I don't really like how it sounds for some reason. Also don't like the little pause at the end before kicking back in with a totally different tempo.

Wild One 2/5 - Meh, didn't care for it. Kind of drags on and doesn't really pick up at any point.

Makeout Party - 5/5 LOVE LOVE LOVE this, it's tied for my favorites off of the album. Again, it's a pure raunchy Foxboro-style song with Billie's howling 60s style vocals and tongue-in-cheek "kiss me there" lyric. Also a kickass solo.

Stray Heart 3/5 - Kind of like Oh Love, I feel like it doesn't do the album justice as a first single. It's catchy, but like Wild One it kind of drags on after a bit.

Ashley 5/5 - This one completely blew me away, I was expecting a slow tempo, but it's pure speed a la St. Jimmy or Murder City. "This careless memory and now I could care less" was easily one of my favorite lyrics.

Baby Eyes 1/5 - I don't know, this just give off that "middle album filler" type feeling. It doesn't really give off anything special.

Lady Cobra 3.5/5 - Loved the pure Foxboro feel on this song, but it's definetly done better on Makeout Party. Had a hard time understanding what Billie was saying throughout the song.

Nightlife 5/5 - Like I said earlier, my only complaint is Billie's robotic vocals, but other than that this song is perfect. It takes everything Kill The DJ started and amps it up tenfold. The bass combined with Lady Cobra's raps just bring home the "dirty, drugged up, drunk and looking to pull some tricks with a hot girl" feeling. I like to think that this is that part of the party on Dos that goes overboard, and leads over to Tre.

Wow! That's Loud! 3/5 - Nothing really stands out from this besides the sweet solo in the chorus. Maybe because its sandwiched between Nightlife and Amy, two standouts, but it didn't stand out for me.

Amy 5/5 - Ugh, I could go on for ages about it. Billie's haunting vocals calling out to Amy, it just left me in constant chills. Hell, by the last "Amy don't you go" I was damn near in tears. It's obvious to hear the Billie was very fond of her and recognized her talents. Maybe it's just because of the circumstances, but this just hit me in such a powerful way. An absolutely beautiful tribute to Ms. Winehouse indeed.

Overall: 4/5 - A damn near perfect old-meets-new Green Day record.

I missed your Petros sig. :P

But yeah, I already hated the preview of Nightlife, so I'm pretty sure I'll hate the actual song as well.

I agree with what you're saying but I don't just like Nightlife because it's Green Day, so I don't think you should imply that everybody likes it only because of that. It's definitely their weakest and strangest song though but even that is subjective really.
