¡DOS! Album

YouTube uses pattern recognition, IIRC, to pick out copyrighted tracks. You'd eventually run the risk of having them removed for copyright reasons anyway. Not sure YouTube would care enough to block your entire account, though.

I'll take that risk. The videos don't seem to be taking a long time to upload, so I guess I'll do it. Got nothing better to do today anyway.

I meant stupid in a good way :D Like this silly little song, bundle of fun an silliness! :D ... and yeah, there's no acoustic version, but just imagine it!

oh stupid in the good way, of course... (wut  ). i guess i kind of see what you mean. you wont forgive him for something that was never a thing in the first place? haha. yeah, i can see him playing it acoustic at the end of shows

Makeout Party's got a nice rhythm behind it, and isn't half-bad. Stray Heart is just perfect. It sounds like something that would have been on Warning, except it doesn't suck. Again with the Beatles vibe, though.

Good joke there :P

Holy shit, this album. I really get the "at the party" thing this record has going for it now. Listening to this is a refreshing kick in the face. My favourite tracks are Fuck Time (come on, how do you not *love* Fuck Time? :creep:), Lazy Bones, Wild One, Ashley and Makeout Party. Every song is pretty good and the weakest track, no surprise, is Nightlife. It's still a funky, fun song though and I probably won't skip it when I listen through the album unless I'm feeling down or sad, which won't be hard with Lazy Bones on the albun. What a dark, eerie rocker.

That's how I'm gonna describe this album, a dark eerie rocker.

Still not submitting to listening to any of the leaks, leaks have no interest to me at all when it is so close to an album release like this.

Listening to the album right now and I absolutely love it! Lazy Bones is definitely my favourite song from the album so far. I also love Wild One, Amy, Stop when the red lights flash, Wow! that's loud, Baby Eyes and well, all the rest! :bunny:

Nightlife could be soooo good without the rap. I know it's all about branching out, but this is Green Day - and rap is a weird thing to try and dabble in. It just sounds like a lame, poppy, bubble gum rap, it's just embarrassing really. And it takes from the interesting, zombie like verses of the song.

Actually never mind. The video just got blocked. A lot faster than I expected. If it's allowed I could upload to soundcloud or something.

Nightlife is so fucking bad, makes Christian's inferno look like a masterpiece.

It sounds like a Nicki Minaj B side. Deleted it straight away, burn it with fire.

agreed. i actually really really liked the song when it was first leaked by the band. probably just because it was just so different. maybe theyll condense it to play it live without lady cobra, more likely it will just be one of the those album only specials though

Am I hearing things, or are there faint clapping noises in Lazy Bones? It's more towards the end of the song.

I'm gonna try a little review thing :P

See You Tonight: A lovely little song, I especially like the guitar tone, makes it sound very 60's. Kind of Dylan-esque. Unfortunately, could be longer. 5/10

Fuck Time: Lots of energy, especially on the solo. The "take a look into my eyes..." part sounds very Foxboro-y, and I like Billie's little laughs and moans and stuff. Not the best lyrics, but a fun song nonetheless. 7/10

Stop When the Red Lights Flash: I feel the song is a bit of an anti-climax. After the intro, I was expecting it to be faster. I love the riff, but the rest of the song is a bit bland. Not a terrible song by any means, but probably my least favourite bar SYT. 6/10

Lazy Bones: As soon as I heard the preview for this, I knew it would be my favourite song from !Dos!. I was almost right, but this song is incredible either way. It has a brilliant atmosphere, and as far as songwriting is definitely the best thing Billie has written since Letterbomb (in my opinion). Every little nuance just adds to this incredible atmosphere, and then when the instruments drop out midway through, it's like a sharp intake of breath, and then it comes back in and floors you. 10/10

Wild One: I like the backing vocals on this, they're very 60's. The music itself is nice, quite minor sounding. Doesn't quite back the punch of the higher-energy songs on the album, and doesn't quite reach the epic-osity (is that a word?) of others, but still quite a unique song. 7/10

Makeout Party: Balls-out fun. This is the song, I think, that Billie based his description of the album on. It starts off well, and gets even better. After the second chorus, the solo kicks in (and the feedback in the background is a nice touch), and Billie screams like a mad man! I love the energy here, you can tell the guys were having an amazing time in the studio. Then Mike's slick-as-fuck bass fills come in during the bridge, and the song builds up again to the final chorus, which ends on Billie's final sneer. My favourite song, just clinches Lazy Bones for that balls-out fun feeling. 10/10

Stray Heart: A relative calm after the shit-storm of epic that is Makeout Party, Stray Heart is a lovely song with a nice bassline and a really pretty vocal melody. The chord progression in the chorus is very nice too. As with Wild One however, it seems to be lacking that little spark that makes Makeout Party and Lazy Bones so good. 8/10

Ashley: A relatively simple but effective punk song, has vibes of St. Jimmy. I like the lyrics, but it's not quite as aggressive as it perhaps should be. I do like the backing vocals on the chorus though. The part where Billie sings "Ashley" reminds me a bit of Reto by the Network, anyone else? 7/10

Baby Eyes: This song does a good job of contrasting light and dark. At the start, when Billie shouts "Go!" it has a Christian's Inferno sort of vibe, but then in the verses it sounds a lot more poppy. Towards the end, when he sings "I was born to..." and then pauses, I was thinking "love you?" and then after the pause "...KILL!", I laughed to myself. One of the better songs on here. 8/10

Lady Cobra: Another high energy rocker in the vein of Makeout Party, unfortunately this one lacks something which that had. This doesn't seem to have time to develop, as it is over in the blink of an eye. I'm sure this will make a welcome addition to the live set next year. 7/10

Nightlife: I for one applaud Green Day for trying something new, and luckily I am quite a big hip-hop fan, and I love this new approach. Mike's bassline is a perfect fit for the song, and I really like the effect on Billie's voice that everyone complains about. The solo is really cool, and not at all what I was expecting. However, I would say the rap lyrics aren't too good. I don't know whether Lady Cobra co-wrote on this song or not, but obviously Billie has no experience writing rap lyrics, and most rappers usually spend a while writing before they come up with their best lyrics. Diversity is always good though, I never understood the obsession with people wanting Green Day to make a "new Dookie". If you want Dookie, go listen to it. 8/10

Wow! That's Loud: As NME said, this song more than the rest sounds like it belongs on a Foxboro album (except, obviously, Fuck Time). It starts as a fairly standard energetic rock song, but by the solo and beyond, becomes a cacophony of sound, almost like the "party" getting crashed by the police or something. The solo here is probably Billie's best ever, rivaling even Dry Ice from oh-so-long ago. The last 30 seconds or so is all feedback, and left me with my jaw open, like "Wow! That was loud! And awesome!". 7/10

Amy: When I first heard about this song, I figured it would be just another acoustic ballad, Good Riddance mark 2 or something. However, the guitar and guitar tone here is what really makes the song stand out. The slightly tremolo sounding guitar adds to the atmosphere for a climactic and, dare I say, beautiful finale. As many people have said, this ends on a much better note than Oh Love did on !Uno!, and I found myself pleasantly surprised by this song. 8/10

Overall: I think !Dos! is a lot better than !Uno! (which, for the record, I would rate 6/10). The songs are a lot more cohesive, and in retrospect, I feel like !Uno! was kind of a bone to be thrown to the people clamouring for Dookie II or whatever. Originally, I thought !Dos! would just be Stop, Drop and Roll!!! II, and in reality is so much more than that. It really is a brilliant album, and I can't help but feel, love !Dos! as much as I do, that !Tre! will be even better. Roll on December!

9/10
