failure00
I think Dos is the best out of the trilogy. I can't even listen to Uno and Tre due to the weak guitar distortion. The albums just sound too clean. Too fake. However, Dos has it's flaws too. Why open up an album with a slow paced song that lasts only a little over a minute? And don't even get me started on Nightlife.
Asa.
This is my favourite of the trilogy by far. Everything about it is just incredible, I can't stop listening to it. However, it's not Foxboro Hot Tubs at all. It's not quite "Green Day" either, but it's all amazing.
BasKerplunCase
It's my 2nd choice. Tre is my favorite then Dos Then Uno I think Uno is my last because I played it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over!!! It's still an epic ass album though. <

And don't even get me started on Nightlife. I actually find it to be a great opener to the album! It's a great companion to Fuck Time because of how different they are- the album goes from sweet and cute See You Tonight to... well, OH BABY BABY IT'S FUUUCK TIIIIME! I've heard people complain about how fuck time is too aggressive sounding for what it's trying to do, but paired with See You Tonight I think it's perfect. For me, this beginning actually gives them the license to experiment later in the album with Nightlife. Neither of the two songs are in my top 5 for the album, but they work fine for the album as a whole. Anyways, this is my favorite of the trilogy followed by Uno and then Tre. Pretty much the opposite of many other community members, but whatever I love all three albums, so I'm stoked Standout tracks for me: Lazy Bones, Stray Heart, Wow! That's Loud, and Amy. Amy gets stuck in my head...

I don't think people who rate/judge it as a regular song understand its intent. It's an album-opener, an intro. And I think it does a great job. That also probably has to do with how much I love the song Fuck Time. It's the only trilogy song where I heard the album version and was like "damn, that's better than the original!" I've heard people complain about how fuck time is too aggressive sounding for what it's trying to do, but paired with See You Tonight I think it's perfect. I love this intro on Dos. I love it, how the innocence changes into rough knowwhat. Yesterday I listended to Dos after a while, and suddenly had the picture of a werewolf oder Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Because I stumbled over the line in "See you tonight ":I might walk to your door, maybe the timing´s not right, I won´t be seeing you tonight". And then the opening of "Fuck time" saying "Oh drop the laundry and slam the door". And I suddenly got the picture of this yearning man coming to the door, hoping to meet his beloved girlfriend to share tender hours - and the girl opens the door and the man turns into a horny werewolf, door slammed, and - wow! - the urge is taking over... Great stuff!
DannyDirnt
Just a random though: In Nightlife the line 'my favourite color's candy apple girl' doesn't seem to make any sense, but it would make sense if we picture Lady Cobra as wearing candy apple lipstick. That way the line would be dirty and sexy.

alaniluau
To me, that line evokes candy apple red more than candy apple grey. The reference to "taking a ride" earlier in the verse makes me think of a candy apple muscle car like this: But as Danny mentioned, it could relate to a sexy shade of makeup like this:
Mandy_PunkRock
I have always imagined a red candy apple lipstick everytime I listen to that line in Nightlife.

Gwakington
question: Dos on Vinyl, will there be a second pressing with Stray Heart on it or not? I love stray heart, its kinda shit I can't have it on vinyl because they put Drama Queen on the Dos & Tre Vinyls

It'd be fucking stupid if they didn't make any pressings with Stray Heart since it's a single

DannyDirnt
Will green day release DOS's second single??????? I hope so. Stop When The Red Lights Flash really needs to be a single. Not sure about Amy though. I don't see it getting much airplay. However Stop When The Red LIghts Flash is a very energetic song, and it's a shame it got so much power removed int he mixing process because it's a killer live song. It's good, but not that much. All mixing does is balances the instruments and vocals at the right volume otherwise a track would sound unevened the drum tracks could be low the vocals would almost muted Now mastering can make a song different but it doesnt take away the energy It was jist how the band performed it in studio where as the band plays it at a faster pace in concerts
Backyard Skulls
Swtrlf is my favourite song from Dos just now I love the energy and the way it builds.
DannyDirnt
I think however they didn't work enough on the drum build up. It's like the guitars and bass start so briefly after the build up ends that it's not that impacting. I can't explain it better, sorry.

Apples have always represented temptation too (from adam and eve days!), which is what this song is really all about. it's just another one of his lines that can have multiple references. Whether or not you like the rap i think this song is amazing at conveying its message.
