So, this morning, me sitting in the bus, listening to Baby Eyes while reading the lyrics when... "They say my middle name is Danger"

I see what you did there, Billie.

Damn. I can't believe I'm such a slowpoke.

Is anyone else's least favorite song on this album Makeout Party? I see how it's 'cool' and super garage-y, but I just really don't like it. Even though it's more imaginative than SWTRLF, it doesn't do anything for me, and at least that has a catchy nature to it. I can't really sing along with any parts of Makeout Party, and the "kiss me there" part is kinda meh.

I kinda grew to like it less and less, but it's one of the ones that I couldn't say was particularly great on it's own but in the context of the album it's fine. The bass breakdown is great though, reminded me a bit of Welcome To Paradise. I enjoy the music though, think it's just the lyrics that are a bit...off.

Yeah, Makeout Party is one of my favorites.

I would like to second this opinion!!! Mike's bass and Tre's drumming and Billie's singing...all fits so PERFECTLY sexy together...well at least to me :P

Ashley and Baby Eyes are becoming my two favorites after Lazy Bones. I can't get enough of Baby Eyes, goddamn.

Lol funny how those are coincidentally my 3 least favorites in the album (I kinda like them though, specially Lazy Bones, I don't mine Baby Eyes and kinda dislike Ashley a bit)

I'm not too hot necessarily on the chorus of Ashley, i mean it fits the song and all just it doesn't hit me very strongly, but I love the delivery of the verses. Billie's vocals are impeccable.

Different strokes for different folks! Why do you dislike Ashley though?

Baby Eyes and Ashley are probably the least "melodic" sounding on the album; that's how I perceive them anyway.

usually you can only judge songs after some time gone by...

and right now after hearing it often enough i think ashley is their best song since 2004 (letterbomb).

"Makeout Party and Fuck Time are both gimmicks used to solidify iDos! as the "raw party album" of the trilogy." he said with utmost uncertainity.

I'm gonna guess they were both written for FBHT... In which case they're most certainly gimmicky but not to push Dos's image .

And with that, I'm calling it.

I pretty much assumed that when I realized that these albums were gonna be all fun and stuff (and less restrictive) - that would sort of eliminate the need to blow off steam with side projects :P.

So my Mom has been listening to Uno and Dos on her way to/from work for the last week, and she loves both albums. :D

She said she prefers Dos over Uno, and her favorite songs from it so far are Ashley, Stop When The Red Lights Flash, Wow! That's Loud, Wild One, and Nightlife.

Also, she somehow found out about F-Woo Time and wants to hear that

She can't stop listening to the albums! And she keeps emailing me about how interesting/inspiring/etc the lyrics are. She's a good mom. :)

I think that if Billie Joe goes completely sober after this, we can't expect the Foxies to be playing much more :P

I doubt he'll go completely sober. I don't know or care what kind of drugs he was on before, but alkohol won't be a huge problem after the rehab, at least that what I believe.

You can tell some of the songs on Dos is about drinking, Ashley is a true punk rock party song, and will be my party anthem whenever I can afford it :P

I disagree. The thing about alcoholism is that once you get sober so that it's not a problem anymore, you pretty much can't drink at all after that. It becomes an all-or-nothing kind of situation, because once you have one drink, it turns into two, then 8, then the whole problem is back again, and usually it comes back worse than before. Once you're an alcoholic, you're never *totally* cured of it - you'll always be an alcoholic for the rest of your life, even if you do abstain from it 100%, because one drink is all it will take to relaunch the addiction. I've seen this firsthand - my dad has been an alcoholic my whole life, and I've seen him quit just to start again after one New Year's drink. If Billie's rehab is indeed for alcohol, and if he takes it seriously and wants to actually get better in the long run, I don't see him drinking anymore. At least I hope he doesn't - that could be disastrous. It would undo all the rehab is supposed to be accomplishing.

Obviously a lot of Green Day's songs (including those on Dos) are about drinking. Billie's admitted to have a drinking problem for nearly two decades now, so that's no surprise. But in the future he will hopefully be totally sober. I don't want to see his addictions lead to worse outcomes. He needs to continue living and making great music.

I think the stand outs on Uno trump the best of Dos, but Dos top to bottom is a sick listen while I'm always skipping around on Uno.

I seriously can't understand how See You Tonight is getting sooo much love. It's a one minute song that repeats all throughout, I don't see how people are giving it 10/10

off topic

I wasn't saying I'm hoping he'll get blasted on stage, I'm rather referring to the possibility that alcoholism isn't his problem, it's other drugs. If it's alcohol, hopefully he'll be able to kick it, but if it isn't I doubt he'll stop drinking to get the shows as powerful as they were before.

I can't lie, my family has a couple of downright alcoholic members, and I've seen what it does to people, I just don't see that in Billie, except for a few exceptions like iHeart and that time he fucked up Good Riddance.

Considering he's been abusing prescription drugs, I'd say that is the bigger problem due to the high fall from high to normal. And I'm not implying that alcoholism isn't bad, as I've said, I've seen it upfront, it's more a hope I have. If it is pills like desoxyn, it's gonna be easier for him to stay off it because of the effort of obtaining it.

If you wanna talk more about this, PM me, we're ruining the thread :P

I don't like it either, I get that it's supposed to open up the record, but it's too boring for it's own purpose IMO.

That's a good point too, although i don't think we'd be seeing much of them even if he hadn't gone into treatment.

I just like the little experimentation of See You Tonight. It's very pretty, nice harmonies... Just a pretty little song. I wouldn't want a whole Green Day record to sound like that, because that would not set the sort of pumped feeling I like in Green Day movies, but... It's very nice for what it is.

The first time I listened Dos! I was disappointed but since it is available I listened the album again and again and now I love every fucking song of Dos!

I can't explain why or how but every single song come to me and makes me happy. So I learned to play the songs with my guitar and I enjoy it so much.
