WrongWayToSalvation
Well, I don't know if I should be making this since my opinions will definitely change in the coming weeks (like with every album) but here's my ¡DOS! Review! SEE YOU TONIGHT - Basically a 1 minutes intro to the party. Has a really creepy stalker vibe to it, almost like All By Myself off Dookie. Personally, it's a 1 listen song before it never appeals to you again. 2.5/10 FUCK TIME - (Off topic but did u notice that fuck was censored on the back of the album and the lyric book yet on the actual CD, it wasn't censored for Fuck Time. Kinda weird but whatever) OK done with that, Fuck Time is a stupid song... Which makes it AWESOME. Just a fun song with a silly chorus and moans in between the pre-chorus an chorus. Great song, one of the albums best. 8.5/10 STOP WHEN THE RED LIGHTS FLASH - Isn't it supposed to be DON'T Stop When The Red Lights Flash like in Oh Love? Weird to me but whatever, Great intro riff and vocals by Billie, one of my favorites right off the hop, sounds like a song from American Idiot (Good thing). 9/10 LAZY BONES - I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a top 5 track off ¡DOS!, maybe a top 5 of the entire trilogy (so far). Absolutely fantastic song. The chorus is beautiful, guitars have a nice tone to them, just an all-around really great song. 10/10 WILD ONE - Probably the slowest-fast song on the album (if that makes sense), not one of my favorites although its good. Kinda drags on one verse and chorus too long, would probably be one of my favorites if that 2nd pass through of the main verse and chorus' were not there, still good song, great solo. 7.75/10 MAKEOUT PARTY - Sounds fun, but seriously this is one of the best songs on the album. The vocals, drum syncopation, bass riffs, guitar solos, this song is really growing on me. Lyrics are unoriginal but this is a really good song. One of the albums best, maybe a top 5 track. 9.5/10 STRAY HEART - A very different song, Stray Heart is definitely a top 5 track of the album. Very light song (if that makes sense. I've said that joke twice now.). Actually, bright would be a better word to describe it. Very melodic song, this song is a stray (see what I did there) from the rest of the album, but that's not a bad thing. Whenever Green Day does a different type of song like Kill The DJ or something, it's always executed very well. This one is a fabulous example. 10/10 BABY EYES - The intro riff to this song is dark (if that makes sense) (If that makes sense counter: 3) I thought this would be a song based off that riff, but it turns to a brighter song by the verse before some "whoa-o-o-o-o's" in the chorus. I wish they would've gone with the direction of the intro riff but even still, I would say its a top 5 song off ¡DOS! 9.75/10 ASHLEY - Tied for best song of the trilogy so far hands down. Now this song is very dark yet full of energy. The verses are spot on, chorus' are great and pre-chorus' are perfect. The "O-Whoa-O's" are absolutely beautiful. Solo is very melodic and fun to play on guitar. (Starts on 4th fret, G-string and 5th fret, B-String (together) if you play guitar and don't know the riff) Ashley is a masterpiece. One of Green Day's best songs ever. 11/10 LADY COBRA - This is what Ashley is tied with. This song fits the album perfectly. The guitar works amazingly with Billie's epic vocals and Tre's drumming. This was basically my favorite from as soon as I heard it. Definitly one of the most underrated Green Day songs ever. 11/10 NIGHTLIFE - TRAINWRECK. 0/10. OK but seriously, I praise Green Day for trying something so out of the box but this is one of the only songs where Green Day's failed at executing a new idea really well. Wait I know why, because Billie only sings 25% of the song. The other shit is some chick Lady Cobra rapping. (You can barely call it rap it's so bad.) Even Billie's parts annoying with the delay and distortion. The bass riff is only thing decent thing about this song. Like I said earlier, TRAINWRECK. 1.5/10 WOW! THAT'S LOUD - "Doo-Do-Doo-Do-Doo-Do-Doo-Do-Do-Do-Do-Do-Dooo." Catchiest intro riff EVER. But seriously intro riff is super catchy. This song is a sing-along in my opinion. Not much going on guitar-wise but the vocals are great. The solo is really good though. The best part of the song is all the random noises and shit going on. Personally I think it should've been the closer. 9.25/10 AMY - Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Guitar tone is fucking awesome, vocals ("Singin, whoa-o-owao please don't go") and emotion are fucking amazing but unfortunately I skip this song every time it's on shuffle because of its slowness. Personally, I think it should've been on ¡TRÈ! so i could listen to all of ¡DOS! and have to skip only See You Tonight and Trainwreck (A.K.A Nightlife) but nevertheless, the song is fucking beautiful. 10/10 ¡DOS! - Album is a masterpiece with a unesscesary intro and a trainwreck called Nightlife, if u make a playlist without those two, one of the best 10-11 song playlist out there. Overall best album since Dookie! 9.5/10 Lol at this review. First you give Nightlife a 0/10, then a 1.5. Then you say almost every track is one of the albums best. You gave Fuck Time an 8.5 (the 4th lowest scoring) and say it's one of the best. 9s and 10s and even 11s galore. You give Amy a perfect 10, but skip it because it's too slow? Oh man, this review hurts my brain. No offense.

Oh man, this review hurts my brain. No offense. He also had Baby Eyes in the wrong place and called a 3 week old song the most underrated song the band has ever made. The 2nd one is really confusing as I can't see how such a new song could have become underrated (it even fairs OK in the poll). To clarify there were many good parts in that review, I'm just pointing out some things the reviewer could improve on when writing the next one. Femme Gauche
"Drinking the Kool Aid" is about LSD , right???? i found it on some websites... No, it is a reference to a cult that committed mass suicide by drinking poisoned kool-aid (I read it was actually a different drink similar to kool-aid) at the same time. Mr.Whirly1988
Oh and my favorites off Dos are Lazy Bones, Makeout Party and Amy (but my favorites always change) Also my favorites at the moment.. I'd say my top 5 includes those three songs along with Wild One and Fuck Time

Oh man, this review hurts my brain. No offense. Completely agree. No offence or anything, but a 10/10 on any song on a review generally means 'this is the best song I have ever heard in my life'. Giving the 1-minute intro which you call 'unoriginal' a 9/10 makes no sense. The review itself is fine. But, in the future, don't bother doing the ratings thing. Because if you don't know what you're doing, it makes you look like an idiot. For example: I think Lazy Bones is the best song I've heard from the trilogy so far (though X-Kid might beat it). I give it an 8.5/10. I also think Nightlife is the worst song Green Day have ever done. I give it a 3.5/10. See how it works? If you give everything either a 10 or a 0, it completely devalues your rating system and just confuses people. Edit: Oops. I was talking about DannyDirnt's review but it applies to that one too. I think it devalues a rating system to say that only one or two things can be the best, it's like grading on a curve, but what's the point of having the ratings if you have to compare it to others and it is relative? alaniluau
Wow! That's Loud (to me) sounds like 27th Ave. Shuffle (I'm not saying this is bad or anything). I've heard a few people make that comparison, and it interests me. While I consider 27th Ave. an enjoyable Foxies tune, I cannot stand Wow! That's Loud. It's the only Green Day song I immediately put in the "do not like" column. I can see why the two songs might be lumped together, but I'm wondering why one affects me in such a drastically different manner than the other. Awesompawsome
Since Dos! came out I haven´t listened to Uno! anymore. Say, not to any of the other GD stuff. It´s Dos Time, I love the atmosphere more and more. And the list of favourites changes slightly. Now it´s Wow!That´s loud, and Lazy Bones on top of the list. Followed by Nightlife (it´s soooooo... uuuuuuh and oooooh... like helplessly floating on water with a paralyzed mind... ), and still Lady Cobra. Maybe I should buy one copy for every song, would that help boost sales...? :cool:/> Same here I like only listen to ¡DOS! Now, if only insomniac wasn't so amazing I'd listen only to ¡DOS! I had no idea that phrase existed! It definitely makes more sense now. What does that mean? I've had no clue It's another Misery, and that's sad. I love Nightlife and would like to hear it live, but it just isn't realistic. Why can't they play misery live? Or... 4. They don't play it and play a good song instead. (Best option! :happy:/>) That's what I immediately said on first listen. For some reason, "Ashley" made me think of The Network's "Reto," too. :lol:/> Nightlife is just to sophisticated for you to understand Or... 4. They don't play it and play a good song instead. First time I listened to it I wasn't a fan, but it's probably grown on me more than any song on the album, especially now that I've realized the Kool-Aid reference isn't completely cringe-worthy and is actually quite clever. sara_gd
I think Amy is great. It's so natural and meaningfull, and I love the lyrics, they are probably the only ones I really like off the album. I also liked the "I am where I belong, without a home" (Stray Heart) but they changed it I have a question, did Billie write the lyrics for Nightlife?
