WhiteTim
I was thinking the same about them still having Uno. I guess I'll be waiting until later in the day before I decide what I'm doing. This is definitely frustrating though. Uni didnt have a song that not on the cd...

Abbey.
DOS has a serious personality disorder. Sounds like B sides mashed together. I also think FUCK TIME doesnt translate all that effectively into a studio song from its live version. Perhaps Im simply biased knowing the live back-story to the song. I adore the love letter to Amy Winehouse. Just finding the album a little all over the place upon my first few listens.

DaVin Kim
Dos, as well as Uno, is not creative at all. (I give 8 to Dos and 6 to Uno) I love Dos because its fun and Uno because it is comforting and I listen to them everyday. But there is not a single song that does not go against the structure Verse - Chorus - Verse - Chorus - Bridge - Chorus and majority of them do not even have bridge. Also lyrical wise, it is not their best work. 99 Revolutions is the only song that I have heard so far that can top the best lyrical work that Green Day have done. (Rusty James was good, Lazy Bones (its good but a bit stretched to my opinion) but there are not that many songs that stand out lyrically) I feel like Billie Joe stretched himself to hard to write lyrics usage of bunch of metaphors that does not really mean anything. But Dos is hella fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I have been listening to Chuck Berry, the Beatles, Bob Segar, Elvis, Johnny Cash and etc and it suits me perfectly. Its just not creative thats all. Anyone know who's the female singer is on 'Lady Cobra' and 'Nightlife'? Her name is Lady Cobra (aka Monica Painter) from the band Mystic Knights of the Cobra. I just called Hot Topic's customer service. They do have it in stock, and I was able to place my order over the phone. Time for me to make a phone call then! blitzkriegdeb
Currently #9 on the iTunes charts, (beating out Taylor Swift's new album!) and #2 on the iTunes alternative chart, only behind Lana Del Ray. Pretty fucking good start for an album that had zero promotion!

Comrade
I'm not sure I'll get a chance to buy it this week, but I'll do my best. Part of my trouble with Dos is exactly what the professional reviewers have picked up on: it is cluttered with filler tracks. The best really are some of the best songs Green day have written, but some of it really is god-awful. If I'm ranking tracks, it goes like this, from worst to last:Nightlife: It's an interesting experiment and one of the better bass lines we've heard from the band, but it just isn't listenable.Amy: No one will agree with me but I just don't care. It's a boring, conceited song that goes on too long and is just shit.Makeout Party: Slightly cringe that 40-year-olds are singing about makeout parties, the song is essentially not bad, but it's not special either. Standard filler.Wow! That's Loud: Perfectly inoffensive, perfectly fun, perfectly forgettable. I'll listen if it's on, but nothing draws me back. The title is the best thing about it.Lady Cobra: Basically the same as Makeout Party. Not a bad song, but not exactly a standout by any means. Great live though.Stop When The Red Lights Flash: Definitely an earworm, and great fun - another one best live, but on the album it lacks charisma.See You Tonight: Awesome opener to the album. If this were a full-length song, it'd probably one of my top three favourites. As is, it is literally just an opener, sadly.Baby Eyes:The best of what I suppose could be considered filler. It's got that great Insomniac darkness to the guitar and fantastic Warning-era melody. Lyrically, much better.Wild One: Way too good to be considered filler but not up to single standards. It's a solid, solid album cut that does everything it needs to. Bit long though.Stray Heart: Had this been a Tubs song, it would have been the best Tubs song. It's everything a Green Day song should be, but it lacks the 'umph' of their 'greatest hits' Fuck Time: Alright, this would have been the best Tubs song. It's pure rock 'n roll fun, but as much as that's it's selling point, it's the weakness too. Sums up the whole record.Ashley: Melodically top-notch, lyrically the best song of the Trilogy so far were it not for the last song. "I've tasted cigarettes and liquor on your breath, we used to call it speed but now it's crystal meth" is one of Billie's all time, top notch lines. Says more about him that he'd ever be comfortable saying without a melody, most likely. Couldn't imagine this as a single though.Lazy Bones: The best song on the album. Everything about it works. It sounds fresh, lyrically it is a stark stunning insight into a guy crying for help, musically it just nails it. It's as perfect as Dos gets, but therein lies a fundamental truth: this is the top song of the album, but put it on something like Dookie, AI...even Nimrod or Warning and I'm not sure I could make the same claim.
