gerardsangel4977
Sometimes I wonder (and it's not a matter of who's the most "popular") why Billie Joe has the most followers on ig (almost 93.000) and Mike and Tré less than 50.000. And it's not that it bothers me or anything, but... if you're a fan of the band, why you don't follow the whole band? I'm afraid that most of those followers are nothing but <Billie Joe Armstrong's> fans Many of them probably are. I've seen many Green Day fans (obviously not ones hardcore enough to be on here) who loved the band's music but would only honestly be able to recognize Billie's name and face. Billie gets the most attention from the media (from long before the events at iHeart), and even within the fandom, he is generally the most popular member of the group (as frontmen usually are). So, yes, he has more followers than the others. Not really a huge mystery there.
Femme Gauche
I was watching a comedy show with my mom, totally forgot who it was, this Asian/Irish comedian I think? Anyway, he was talking about bands and he said girls particularly paid more attention to the lead singer, then the guitar player (if they're not the same guy), then bass player then drums (and then keyboard, which, wtf) and it was really funny, but it's really true. In a Rolling Stone interview, Mike or Tre said that they were a democracy with an elected leader (Beej) but he's not the only one. He's the most famous of the three, if that makes any sense, and although some may disagree he is the most conventionally attractive member. I know I had a good friend whose favorite band was Panic! at the Disco and at first Brendon Urie was her favorite, but as time went on she found herself favoring Spencer Smith, the drummer, more. I know that I used to be Billie Billie Billie! but now as I've gotten deeper into the band Mike is slowly becoming my favorite. I'm not gonna be high and mighty and say I don't pick favorites either, because as is my human nature I do. I love them all, truly. Anyway. That's my take on why BJ has more Instagram followers. Also if you're a fan of a band, but you're not, you know, obsessed or whatever, it might be cool to see what the one guy who writes the songs and stuff posts. I wonder if he gained a bunch of followers after his "incident" jsut cause people thought for shits and giggles. Ew. The little Dirnts look a lot like Mike, but in that picture with the hats Brixton looks just like Brittney.

Elena
I knew what you meant don't worry I try not to read the comments but curiosity always gets the best of me ok haha same here ...though i don't have IG, so i can't check any comments gladly I'm hopping on the 'Ewwwww feet!' train. They creep me out so much. But if they didn't have a gun, they'd just find a knife, bat, rope, chainsaw, pitchfork, bomb, etc... but it's not as easy to kill anyone with a knife or a rope...and it's way easier to defend oneself against that...and how should one get a bomb? ...if the one who wants to commit a crime is not a terrorist who wanted to take a bomb rather than a gun either way, the aggressor won't use a bomb either way...so maybe these people would TRY to kill anyone either way but wouldn't have it as easy as thy have it now...they won't be able to kill so many and maybe they won't even be able to kill even one you cant mow down 20 preschoolers with a baseball bat though can you true
DannyDirnt
can brixton swing a bat?... sorry just kidding had to Aww you just made me imagine Brixton all cute attacking a burglar with a bat Really, those guys just made me wish I had a black beanie and I looked good in it! Heather.
So Adrienne tweeted about Instagram referencing how it will soon have permission to sell your photos. I hope this doesn't mean we stop getting photos Though seriously Instagram, dafuq? At least be sneaky about it like Facebook where everyone is happily confused on the terms of service

I don't know if they can use their image without permission since they are a famous band, and also I don't know if they even care LOL @ second paragraph

I don't know if they can use their image without permission since they are a famous band, and also I don't know if they even care LOL @ second paragraph These aren't images copyrighted by Green Day, it's pictures that Mike Dirnt is taking of his toddlers and putting on a website, the same as everyone else who puts personal photos on Instagram. They have no special rights to their photos just because they're famous. That being said, the chances that Instagram chooses your photograph with your kid's face and plasters it online anywhere are slim... but if I had to bet, they would choose either an epic nature shot that someone took, or a really cute animal or kid, and use it to advertise their own site. spark in the night
I keep having Mike dreams. I think it's because he's been on instagram a lot lately. wtf is goin on Yeah I read that article this morning. I deleted a couple of my photos. But none of mine are really stock photo-worthy. But I'm still mad that they think they can do that. What about Creative Commons License!!

spark in the night
Well it can possibly happen, no matter what. fuckin instagram how dare they!!
farley drexel hatcher
Well it'll probably only happen in the instance of photos that are uploaded by location. So like if you stay at a hotel and tag or geotag that hotel, they may find it that way, but since neither Mike nor Billie geotag or use hash tags, it's unlikely they'll find the photos anyway. Kitty Purry
omg i just heard that instagram can sell your pictures without your permission. unless you delete your ig account before jan 16 you'll be fine. thats so fucked up! I guess we can say goodbye now to a lot of celebs or regular ig accounts. unless they dont care if ad agencies can use your pics. i really hope green day won't delete theirs but i will completly understand if they will. /edit oop you guys are already talking about it! I'm always late Perhaps they will create a tumblr account! tumblr>>>>IG>>>>>twitter
farley drexel hatcher
Plus, it's not something that is likely to happen anyway, they're just covering themselves in case. Imagine if two companies used the same image? It wouldn't work. Just make it private, stop tagging, or watch what you put on there.

So all of this is untrue? Yeah, they're not "selling" your images per se, but those images can still be used against your wishes. It isn't against your wishes per se, if you agree to the contract by using the service. I post pictures of things that i want to be public.anything else doesn't get posted... Anyway pics of hats I've knit and my dog are of little use to anyone else... Not that great of photos, either.just for fun. I'm sure the guys feel the same way, what with posting the pics on a public l page while they are famous...

spark in the night
Instagram produces horrible quality photos anyway. It's meant for mobile use. Even when we put GD's photos up here, the quality is shit. So I can't imagine businesses "purchasing" instagram photos. They won't print well enough to use in any decent ad. I suppose they could be used for websites, but again, their true resolution is mobile devices, not desktop-size.

Hero_Of_The_Hour
Hmm...well when Tre's account was announced on the guys website (he had been using IG before everyone knew his username & before Billie and Mike had public accounts) he deleted some pictures including ones of his kids most likely because he didn't want his children plastered all over the net etc. So if GD are concerned about these new privacy laws its most likely they simply will avoid posting pics of their kids or more personal pics that could be used in adverts or in magazine/online articles about the guys especially given situations such as the recent events with Billie (remember they are famous lots of mags/gossip sites would love some of those personal pics for their shitty columns!). I don't think they'll stop using IG though...they are total IG whores ; )

False, I take my photo's i capture with my DSLR and import them to my phone, then posting them on Instagram. But yeah, most people cannot use the small 2X2 photos produced for a phone size picture and try to blow it up and advertise it, it would just look ugly.
