Some of the things these assholes are saying to Billie (and other innocent ppl who leave a comment about tightening gun laws etc) are actually ridiculous! I left a comment and was expecting a fight but they seem to pick on easy targets...jerks. Honestly it shouldn't suprise me...because I know people are idiots for the most part (like Mike said in an interview about why they never released DUI "Roughly 99% of the human population is retarded")...but still its 5am and I am lying wide awake in my bed thinking why did this have to happen? It's christmas for gods sake and they are babies...it is just too horrible to contemplate. Yet over on IG there are dicks saying "I love my guns ye ho!" ...guess they never held a baby or even watched the joy on a childs face on christmas morning...something those poor parents cherished. SuzD Posted December 15, 2012 Share Posted December 15, 2012 i think i must be kinda thick or something, because there's this thing that i just don't understand. here in australia we had what was at the time, one of the worst mass shootings in the world in port arthur, tasmania in 1996. 35 people were killed at the hand of one man, many more injured. after that, gun laws were introduced with and guns became a lot harder for the average homebody psychopath to get hold of. nothing like this has happened since. this is absolutely a simplistic view. but surely you can start with gun laws and work on mental health, video games, parental responsibilities and whatever else will undoubtedly get blamed for this tragedy. what the heck are people thinking they are defending themselves from, that they NEED a semi-automatic anything? it's never the hardened criminals you need to defend yourselves against, it's the average joe blow whose mind breaks down, for whatever reason, and in this case his mum has guns in the house, because she's allowed to. i'm with the boys here, i just don't understand. I don't find it a safe country because of guns being legal. I think it's not right, I find any type or riffle or gun should be illegal in every country. You don't need to kill to protect yourself. That goes agains human rights (everybody is supposed to have the right to live and look for happiness) and it becomes useless, since if someone wants to steal something from your house theyw ill know you have a gun and they have one either so it's the same. Not everyone has access to guns, nor does everyone in the US own a gun. However, as you can see, there are many flaws in the system.....and, unfortunately, the NRA is a very powerful entity in this country and they will stir up trouble and go to great lengths to oppose pretty much any attempt to put further restrictions on firearms, claiming that it violates the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, which guarantees citizens the Right to Bear Arms. Sorry I'm aware that you do have gun laws. I'm aware that the was a tertiary ban on semi automatics that was allowed to run out. When I said start with gun laws i meant as an answer to those who say it's not about guns it's about mental health, out it's not about guns it's about violent video games. Yes it might be but first of all it's about guns.
