Green Day Instagram Photos

You gotta wonder if the new tour that presumably will start with Australia will be another Trilogy named tour, or if it'll be a full-on 20th Dookie/10th AI hits tour. I hope the former for obvious reasons but I'm doubtful. In truth, neither would really be a good idea, IMO.

why do you think so?

I saw this picture on Facebook and it seems this was at the bar from London airport

Well, as much as I would love a trilogy tour, you have to assume because of the low sales it wouldn't be a successful thing to play at concerts. And as much as I love celebrating the enduring legacy of Dookie (and they haven't brought up the AI milestone yet, which I would think they should), it's a shame to see them live in the past for extended periods of time (i.e. an entire Dookie tour)... I'm pretty OK with what they're doing now, a little bit of everything with an ode to Dookie.

In a way, the best thing for them to do is to continue with the setlists they've had this past tour. I'm sympathetic toward Green Day. I want them to fucking play the trilogy, but I understand why they haven't been. I just fear that if they go out on the road and play all those songs that Billie hashtagged, it wouldn't be embraced by crowds who largely didn't listen to the trilogy.

Not that I want the trilogy swept under the rug, as it is I think it's a real shame what has happened, but I don't really see a promotional rebirth for it, so I'd almost rather them write and release a brand new album, actually promote and sell that album, and start from scratch again. I don't think that will happen between now and March, but then again they announced the trilogy and we heard the first single 5 months later, so anything is possible. [but I'm not saying that's realistic] I honestly don't know *what* Green Day should be doing right now, and that's a scary, purgatorial thing to feel. I'm kind of lost on their behalf, and I hope they at least have a vision for their future that I don't right now.

Oh I thought you meant "It's a bad idea to do another tour in general"

Now I feel bad for making you write this all out

We know this ain't gonna happen though.

It makes sense to play them to promote the trilogy! After all that's what a tour is supposed to do isn't it?

Well in my opinion soundwave is the wrong place to promote the trilogy & to play dookie front to back. I think about the same amount of trilogy songs & a mixture of other as the average age for soundwave is younger than dookie & trilogy radio play I have heard kill the dj & oh love. They are headlining so they have to please everyone not just me.

I agree with that. I think the set-list for a festival was really good when I saw them (which had a bunch of Dookie songs but not the whole album and pretty much all of their major hits, a few Trilogy songs and songs to entertain the crowd (King for a Day)... That works perfectly for a festival!) I think they should focus on the Trilogy songs when they do their own arena tour!

Hahaha Tré's video to express that he can't believe 99 Revolutions tour is over

WAIT. WHAT?

I didn't have my turn yet, and you say "it's over"? You have nothing 'til February next year? What about the rest of us who couldn't see you guys yet?

I'm not going to desperate now, because there's no actual reason to desperate... yet. I don't know what to think, really. This is so confusing.

I'm sure that Billie is here in GDC and he is always bitching with us with the name of Ceadog

Please, Billie Joe is not that clever or witty. :P

And that's more of an observation on Billie than it was a compliment to Ceadog, but take it however you like.

I feel like Billie's hash tags on those picture is him at least making it known that he knows those are the favorites from the trilogy but he still needs time to overcome his personal battles with them before they will play those songs live
